A ton of great content on Surf Fishing! Great instruction for people wanting to learn about surf fishing!
Excellent team up
STUD black drum! Nice fish!
thanks man👍
Loved the video, learning a ton from you folks & it’s exciting to see in places I know and go all the time! Moved down here last year and learning surf fishing as I go.
Easy as 1,2,3!
Unless your Kyleforawhile, then it just EASY🤙🏼
Great video and looked like a beautiful day to be on the beach and some great fishing!!
Heck yeah man! And to get stud in on 15 lbs that’s awesome!
Thankfully I have a smooth drag on those Penn reels and I was able to put a decent amount of pressure on the fish without my line snapping. The trilene big game monofilament is great fishing line. It may not cast as far as my reels with PP braid but it's easier to work with and dependable.
Maddog Fishing yeah I love my Penns. Don’t think I have used that line yet. Have check it out.
great catch Greg!! keep the good content coming!
Thanks! When's your next video coming out
@@MaddogFishing haven't been able to get decent footage 😢. hopefully soon.
That was fun morning for sure!
For sure! I look forward to our next trip together.
Another great, fun, entertaining and educational video Maddog! ... really enjoyed it! One request; when you're doing a video like this where you're giving us novices the benefit of your experience in how to catch good fish from the beach ... just a quick shot of your terminal tackle and a brief description of the line, leader, (length of leader), etc, would be helpful to me. I think I understood you to say at one point that a fish broke off your last 'pompano rig' - so is a store-bought pomp rig (with the different baits you mentioned) sufficient to catch most of the fish you guys dragged in on this video?
Once again, thanks for sharing another great video - already looking forward to the next one!
Thanks for watching and yes I will work on getting that video made👍 I used to use the store-bought Pompano rigs and they work but the hooks are weak. I lost a couple of big fish this winter when the gold kahle hooks broke. They can easily be changed out to 1/0 circle hooks. Now, I use custom built Pompano rigs by Salty's Pompano rig. You can look him up on Facebook and order them or if you're in town they sell them at Hooked up Bait and Tackle.
@@MaddogFishing : Great! Just the info I was hoping for! Thanks buddy!
Awesome video bubba tight lines
Thanks man! When are you coming down to get in on some of this surf fishing action.
@@MaddogFishing I hope soon I will sure hit you up when I come down I want to get out there an fish it's been a long time since i fished in the gulf
You know you took that hardhead home!
😂😉 I'll never tell!
Maybe an Atlantic Sharpnose?
Great Video congratultions. Love catching somthing Big on the surf diferent from the Pier
If you're like me, you love fishing in general. Pier fishing, surf fishing, kayak fishing it doesn't matter to me. I'm not even picky on what species I catch👍
Awesome, informational video, MD! We could definitely learn a thing or 10 from you when it comes to surf fishing. You da man! And that PB... 😲😲
Thank you! I'm fixing to focus on inshore fishing now or at least that's the plan
Great instruction. This time of year is it best to use a single circle hook setup or a pompano Rig? Do you like to use the pomp rig with yellow or orange floats on the hooks
I use both the Carolina rig and the Pompano rig this time of year. However the Pompano rig usually does best but if you're using cut bait for redfish or sharks. Carolina rig it's the way to go. I used the colored beads and float rigs unless the water is super clear and calm then I'll switch over to a fluorocarbon double dropper rig.
Maddog Fishing thanks so much to take the time to respond going to try out some of these tips this week
Have you ever used a bait launcher?
I have not! They are reallly expensive and not needed for our area. 90% of the fish I catch are within 20yds of the beach.
@@MaddogFishing yeah bit its 😎 I want to build 1 and try it
What a hoss of a drum!!! Great video and appreciate the tips. Hopefully I will make it to the water sometime this summer... :)
Hopefully you'll make it down to get in on some of the action. Surf fishing this year has been really good.
Like the video. But I really find it very funny when ever yuotubers go out together Iseems everyone is running around like chickens with their heads cut of. But you are appricated.
Where is a good place to start beach fishing in gulf shores
Near the jetties in Orange Beach; Mobile Street, down Ft Morgan rd, or the beach at West pass
@@MaddogFishing ok thanks brother
We subscriber! That drum was hugeeeee!!! Great catches. I never catch on surf but one day I’ll love to
Man you know why that fish needs so much reviving
I was just there lol
Hey maddog is this one of the secret spots you gave me? lol
