Thanks! All’s good enjoying the socially distanced outdoors. Stay safe and enjoy the fishing! I’m still planning to post some minor new mods to the sound 9.5 soon
@@mojobudgiekayakfishing Looking forward to seeing. One thing I was really pleasantly surprised about is that it is certainly just as "fast" (no siower0 than my old sit on top. I really believe sit in's are easier to paddle than sit on's........oh well I enjoying it Stay safe
They’re definitely faster than most SOTs, barring something like a longer eddyline carribean angler or similar. I had a perception access 11.5 SOT that could really get up and go. Sold that one and came to terms on buying a hobie passport 10.5 which is just about near perfect for me. But I especially like the sit inside when it’s in the 40s or colder.
@@mojobudgiekayakfishing Cant wait to see the passport in action! (I wouldn't be able to lift it to cartop though which was a determining factor in buying the Sound. I have a Ocean Prowler 13 but even at "only" 56 pounds its too heavy for me to lug around...........
Hi it’s definitely wobbly, and feels loose and clunky which is why I don’t use it for casting, just trolling from kayaks. Max drag of the 4000 is 15lbs but I personally never use more than 6-7 lbs drag max. My main trusted reels are Penn spinfisher VIs, 2500 and 3500 size
Hi hope you are doing good! I have ix 4000R just want to know can what is. The maximum MM of line we can use.. I have trouble with 0.45 MM line and it doesn't stay in reel. Can you plz help me out.
Hey there the recommended line specs are here: Mono 8lb/240 yards, 10/200, 12/160 and braid 15 pound/265yards, 30/175, 50/145... Since a lot of 12 pound mono is .35mm and 50 pound powerpro braid is .36 mm it's probably that .45 is too big. For mono and braid- if you NEED to use .45mm then try spooling only 75% full, it may help. Fluoro is hard to keep on spinning reel spools, ESPECIALLY at the over 12lb diameter
@@mojobudgiekayakfishing hi thank you so much for explanation now it's give me an idea. Today I got new line braid 0.26MM can take upto 12.9 kgs hop this will work.
Had it for 5 years best reel I’ve used, again the only reel I use lol
I wish the quick fire was on more reels imo i love it
I can't figure out how to use it properly.
It’s my go to reel. My most expensive reel is a Lews baitcaster for $100 and I choose this reel 90% of the time I’m out bass fishing
Funny how that happens right?
Thanks I learned something new. Hope all is well. (Loving the Sound 9.5 👍)

man they are also gret for in expinsive peir bait reels and redfish reels where you dont wanna spend ton of money on high end
Great reel I have 2 1000 & 4000 I love them and my Alvey's and my Zebco 22 yes 22 rare as but I've got one like new and Abu Garcia 5000.🐊
I have 25# mono on my Ix 4000r. Great for catfish.
Just curious what brand mono your using.? My 30lb big game would fly off the spool when I opened the bail on this reel
@@mojobudgiekayakfishing haha I had 15lb flying off
Cool. Hey was that mono or braid? I’ve had bad luck casting 14lb stern magnathin on smaller spools but love their 8lb test
@@mojobudgiekayakfishing mono, I have had 10lb, 20lb braid on and it casts really well but mono has just never worked on it over 10 pounds
Got it. Yea 10lb mono max for me on this reel. 15lb braid is my go to saltwater line on main reels. Thx
👍👍👍
Hi, do this reel face wobbling issue after fighting big fish? What is the max drag of this reel?

Feels Graphite-plastic to me
