Your delivery is so cheerful, funny, and real it makes us feel like your our best friend sitting across from the table just chatting it up. Well deserved 100k subs bud!
This is by far the best hobby channel on UA-cam. Theres just something about the energy and the mix of topics thats really standing out to me. Always a joy to watch! :)
Your take on rule explanation is so true. Designers sometimes forget that they know the rules so well that they take some things for granted. It's really important to have someone else unfamiliar with the game, read through the rules and try to play without any help or guidance from the designer. I like to describe this concept in the form of instructions to make a peanut butter and jelly. We have: a jar of peanut butter, jelly (or whatever you like), a utensil, and bread (in loaf or bag); write out the directions as explicitly as possible to make a pb&j and have another person follow them exactly as written. It's a great teaching/learning experience, fun to play, and you get food at the end.
Well done guys! I remember subbing after watching the pirate themed base for an Ork Boy and many other little basing videos. Great to see how far the channel has come, maybe you could bring that old intro jingle back for an episode!
Best general hobbying Channel on youtube, love you painting and modelling vids as well as regular hot takes and opinion pieces! So pleased you’ve received your silver plaque and mail merge letter of recognition.
This is my favourite channel for 40k along with adrig. Your channel just has so much positive energy to it that I feel is missing from some other channels.
I got into Warhammer kill team as my first ever skirmish like game a month ago because of your channel, so thanks! I’m just finishing painting a Tau team fully using your tutorials! I love your videos they are well produced informative and entertaining! Keep the good work!
Grats on 100k! You've earned it! Great videos, really informative and good vibes every time. Keep doing what you do. You've been the spark that re-ignited my love for the hobby. Thank you!
Congrats on that Silver Play Plaque! Your positive charisma is really what this community needs more of, so keep up the great work and you'll have the next box from youtube in your hands!
Congratulations on picking up the 100k Subscribers Button. You put in a lot of work and enthusiasm in to this channel. 13:45 I love the reimagined Chaos Familiars with Mibyllorr Darkfang; also, I think that the teeth instead of pages in Mibyllor's tome are a nice touch.
Grats on the button!!! That's awesome, trying to remember when I found this channel, but quickly became one of my top 3 channel hangouts. Great day for Kill Team, Gellerpox coming back!!!!
Jay you are wrong about the Dong. For one, important details have to be a bit overproportioned so they remain recognizable when you look at it on the table, one or two arm's lengths away. Second, Dongs are funny man!
The familiars in the chaos sorcerer pack are all retro call-backs too. They used to sell a little blister pack of them in the old days. Very beloved minis.
Congratulations to you and even Nick! Been here for about a year and you what I haven't had time for? You guessed it the EOB Patreon! Someday, someday I promise but in the meantime, cheers!
in the latest white dwarf they actually synthesized all the terrain rules and added some fun additional ones you can apply. Like barrels that explode, ammo dumps, trenches, and steaming pipes etc...
I'm totally new to the WH40K universe I only just started reading a couple books I got as I'd only really watched lore videos and The Astartes Project about 100 times over the past year. Your videos specifically inspired me to buy some Space Marine models and actually try painting them. I assembled them all and I'm just waiting for the paint to arrive. Congrats on 100k subs and keep up the awesome work!
@@AcornPlays Still not sure yet, I like a few but I got 5 Space Marines to just practice on and learn painting technique. Just from the little I know from Lore videos and the wiki I like White Scars, Space Wolves, Black Templars, Iron Hands, and Imperial Fists but haven't picked a top favorite yet.
@@SpacemanBandOfficial that's cool, I tend to jump around and paint a few different chapters just so I don't get bored, Templars are very cool I'd recommend those
Hey, Jay. Congrats on reaching 100k subscribers. They all enjoy seeing you work on your projects, the strategies you employ to achieving your goals and your reviews, and viewpoints on the wargaming hobby. Your GW, Malifaux and Star War projects are entertaining and enjoyable. Keep up the great work you do. 👌👌😃
I've built a World Eaters army around wacky conversions using old Warhammer bits and oldhammer minis so that terminator fits in perfectly! I'm so happy and so excited for the full WE release
I actually think the Dong isn't big Enough on the new overlords. I may add a big sculpted donger sticking out the front with a little Norse dragon head on it.
Gentlemanly bulge? LOL!!! For some reason when I saw this model my brain decided to notice that every race across thousands of planets considers capes the pinnacle of cool. I mean, I would totally wear a cape if I could, but common. At least the Orks have enough sense to avoid capes. And congrats on the button!
i feel like a good middle ground for tacrocks is to make them a seperate bit on the sprue - that way people who build as per the manual/like tactical rocks can include it no problem, but people who dont like them or prefer to kitbash can easily work around it without a lot of unnecessary effort
I love that you took a formal logic class in college. I'm studying philosophy and formal logic is universally hated by everyone. Almost everyone of us pushes that class at least once hahaha
I think Malifaux does rules availability right. You can get the free pdf of the core rules for free, you can get stat cards for every model for free. If you want more lore, then you can give them money, but isn’t necessary.
My problem personally isn't with the tactical rock, but when there's hyper specific ruins or a body of a specific enemy it makes it much harder for me to customize. The Ynndrasta(big angel lady from stormcast) is a great example of what i think is an unacceptable version of the tactical basing. Rocks you're spot on that you can sorta mold into whatever.
i think really they need to do an SRD to solve the book issue. have a basic set of simple rules in a pdf with all the stat sheets, and then for the more complex rules, multiple game modes, strategies, lore, and art have the hard cover core books. and then release smaller faction books (like the height and width of say an average novel book maybe a bit wider) that can have more specific lore, art, painting tips and tricks, all the data sheets, additional sub-faction rules, stratagems, formations, and new/srd wargear and maybe some additional hobby stuff like kitbashing ideas. that way if you want to get into warhammer you can just get a box of what you want, find the rules and data sheets online to see if you like the game. then if you want to get into the more advanced rules and lore get the core rulebook, and then if you get really into a specific faction you can pick up their codex to get additional rules for them as well as a single place to have all your model rules. and if you ever want to try another faction but don’t know if you want to commit to it you can use the srd rules to determine if you like them enough to dive into the book. i think a smaller more compact novel size version of the codex’s would be a really good idea and make referencing your stuff easier since you don’t have to lug around basically two large rule books. then for collectors and such they can offer a large version that’s just all the codex rules in one big hardback. i like the idea of codex’s being more of an expansion to your armies rules rather than the only place to get said rules. kinda like how d&d does it with 5e right now or maybe more appropriately the 2e complete handbooks a system like this would certainly help the new player experience imho
Congrats on 100k! WH+ is one of those I want it to be good but it just isn’t sort of things. To be honest if i did opt in for this year I’d try and sell the terminator on eBay to recoup some of the money. I just don’t have the old time nostalgia for him as a newer player. I would love it if they did compendium based rules and then sold the lore and art books as well. Maybe they can sell compendium additions periodically for the new models of the year or two if they don’t want to tell us what’s coming too early. And lastly, that squat commander is begging to come home with me even if I’m not sure I can build another army
Your delivery is so cheerful, funny, and real it makes us feel like your our best friend sitting across from the table just chatting it up. Well deserved 100k subs bud!
