- Blaster of the Year 2023
Buckle up! It's a BIG one. Since I don't see anything coming before the end of the year taking the palm of Blaster of the Year, it's time to look back the best blasters I review in 2023
////Disclaimer//// The opinions expressed here are my own and reflects my experiences with the blasters, but if it can help you make the right choice for your needs, that's just a bonus! Enjoy.

The Longshot can also mount whatever foregrip for priming you want, like most other non-Nerf high performance blasters. That, alone, makes it worth more to me, because I simply don't like vertical priming grips.
I enjoy your thoughts and videos, but I have to say I love the Outlaw and I think it's an incredible blaster especially for the price. Also, the Nerf double punch, although not a performance blaster, is a really fun blaster.
it is, but generally it's a personal preference... I tend to stay away from flywheeler!
The x-shot longshot is my go to springer right now. Thank you for your video and opinions. Take care.
Nice video! These are all great blasters but unfortunately I have no access to them where I live. I wish really hard that at least the X-Shot Pro comes someday!
Where do you live??
@@thatoldnerfguy I'm from Brazil. Dart Zone doesn't sell here and all the Pro blasters didn't come as well. I think X-Shot may appear first over here...
@@zaka0781 most high performance blaster are ordered from overseas... apart from X-Shot, nothing is available on shelves here in Canada
@@thatoldnerfguy so I must do that. Thanks for the advice!
I'm a huge fan of shell ejecting springers, so my best blaster of the year so far is the shellington Kirin blaster, with the talon adapter kit installed. Just a very satisfying bolt action prime, very easy to open and service, and hits from stock 80fps numbers, to all the way up to 300fps depending on the spring you throw in it. If you've not tried out a Kirin I highly suggest you get your hands on one.
That was a great year ! Curious to see what comes next year... come on lever action !
HQ G4 is Lever action... Let's keep our eyes open for it
Haven't had the opportunity to play with the Xshot but I can respect your opinion. It does seem to be an excellent value (basically an upgraded Nexus pro for 1/2 the price ?!). I was on the fence between a Unicorn and Seagull but think your video and a few others have me leaning Seagull.
Not exactly same kind of blaster...but for the price, it's unbeatable
My blaster of the year would have to be the Worker Seagull. I really like my Unicorn and if the Seagull hadn't come out, I think the Unicorn would take my award, but alas. The Seagull is just all-around solid and I prefer it even compared to the Harrier due to the size and price difference. Frankly, the increased fps of the Harrier isn't useful to me. I had a bad experience with the Zuru Longshot unfortunately. I had to buy and return two with cracked tubes before I was finally able to find one that wasn't defective out of the box.
I the Seagull would've had slam fire like Worker originally announced, I might Have thought of it
replace that tube to a metal one, add a 45cm barrel and 18 to 19 coils of k25 and that Longshot will hit around 300 fps.
@@dancarthen3634 as you could see my tube is brass!! with a 42 cm Swin Barrel... as for spring load goes, I have enough hard hitting springer. For crazy Power I'll just take my Baize with 55cm barrel and 2.0 spring, I'd hit about 410-430
Worker Harrier springs perform great in the Trion! I use the Out Of Darts High Power Spring in mine.
I might try that
I hope viper metal version becomes more popular and be easier find it in EU
That Viper is just... above everything, only equal by the SWIN and Sabre of this world
My allround blaster of the year is the Trion. It's not the best, but if you take price into account it's a great platform out of the box. Did not have any issues with mine. It does need a scar, but that can be 3d printed cheaply. The Xshot longshot has some real cool features, love the bull-pup design but it's quality is terrible. The harrier and seagull rule, but they loose in the price department.
Bargain of the year is the DZP MK III, for the price of an x shot longshot at the moment, or 4 MKIII's for 1 stryfe x, unbeatable :)
Still MkIII is Last year!
Yes, but not at 30$ :)@@thatoldnerfguy
That exactly Why it is not there... it is so old, the price is falling@@jolemaire6629
Same here.with my X-Shot longshot.
Blaster of the year
Right on!!
2:11 would you say, a normal hammer prime length would not be strong enough to give it the fps that the outlaw dish out currently?
i see it as they need to do a long prime and since the hammer cannot be too far from the thumb, they compensate by priming a lot more downwards
and to achieve the performance, they need a longer prime. else we see the nerf revolvers have easy prime but they are less than 70, 60 fps.
I bought 2 Xshot Pro blasters because the first only got like 120 or 125fps...so I thought it was a lemon...so I got a second one...and out of the box it got 150 with adventure force half darts...I tried it with worker darts...but it LOVES the cheap darts....but it was VERY INCONSISTENT, like 110 then 150 then 120 then 100 then 150 again....
100% agree for a spring. Definitely the best this year. For flywheel for me at least it would be the Dianna.
The Rarity and Price would take it from winning... maybe something more mainstream
@@thatoldnerfguy here in the us you can get it from frontlinefoam and out of darts.
@@thatoldnerfguy Which flywheel launch in 2023 is the mainstream? Diana is easily available from frontline foam and out of darts in US. 200 plus for a brushless flywheel with mosef are considered very reasonable price. You try can SBF or momentum if you think DIana brushless flywheel is expensive.
TaG has a point. I've ran two Diana's in competitive play repeatedly. Cost, range, accuracy and reliability with used darts and no off switch outdoors is a problem that nobody is discussing yet.
@@hell240 Cost is issue for Diana but doesn't mean it's overpriced. Let's take into consideration that it's using brushless motor and mosef. It's difficult to bring down the cost. As for range, nobody expect a sidearm to hit a coke can in 30m range. Accuracy wise ,not sure what is the issue. Since it is one of the most accurate sidearm out of box. Comparable to springer unless u got a lemon.
Good vid but I think it's unfair to compare a pimped out Viper to a standard Outlaw which is a much much nicer pistol and the quality is of the highest beautifully injected heavy grade plastic, definitely made to last.
