Good Drive / Recovery Peter. In these conditions, it's never "doom and gloom" if you find yourself at the back of the field as there'll always be plenty of carnage 👍🏻
I'm definitely glad I spent some time practicing this track while grinding sr this week. I'm a bit surprised by how much grip was still on the racing line but maybe it's because it wasn't actually raining, just a lightly wet track. I'm just glad I was able to hold them off at the end they almost had me.
Very good racing Peter even more when you get punted off eary race and get back up the field, whats your thoughts on rain racing? I am finding it hard at the minute😢 I thought you was going to loose 5th at the end well held.
Thanks I appreciate it. I think Iracings rain physics and weather simulation are the most realistic I've ever seen. A long long time ago I was lucky enough to go to the Skip Barber racing school at Laguna Seca and competed in the regional race series there. I think on my second or third race there it rained on the Sunday race and let me tell you I damn near had a full blown panic attack on my pre race warmup session. I spun out two or three times and just pulled it back into the pits. jumped out of the car and left the track as quick as possible. I was such a wreck I couldn't even talk to any of the people running the race I had my tail fully between my legs and split. My head was just filled with visions of a T1 disaster and this was real life not simulation so I just bugged out. It took me a while to get my confidence back up to race there again. I started going out for runs whenever it would be raining. I got used to being in the wet and I would run around in the street finding the spots with the best grip with my sneakers. This sounds dumb thinking about it 20 years later but that's what I did. it got me more comfortable being cold and wet and feeling crazy. I eventually got back at it and survived a race in the wet at Laguna. As for practical rain tips: Don't grip the wheel too hard. When your tires start sliding on puddles if you grip the wheel too hard it can cause the car to spin. If you let the wheel jiggle around a bit it can find a path through the water better and steer your ship true stay off painted surfaces they are slippery. Curbs are deadly. Turn on SSR graphics to high to help see puddles on road turn on racing line to avoid it like the plague. especially in heavy braking zones or high speed apexes where there is lots of rubber build up don't forget to put on rain tires. (happened to me a couple times whoops)
@@petermuravez Thank you for all that advise Peter I will certainly take it into account, the story about your racing incident the main thing is you got back into the seat and did it again and never gave up
