Love the ☘️ Irish cadets at the funeral of President. John f Kennedy he loved them when he came to visit Ireland 🇮🇪 in 1963 and Jackie especially asked for them what a sad day not only for America but the world 🇮🇪 🇺🇸 ❤️ ☘️ ☘️

This perfectly executed Presidential funeral planned in Two days was flawless with Jackie in command. She assumed the role of President, and at the end of this horrific day, without food or drink for hours that day, she still managed to plan John's birthday. A Profile in Courage.

Even though it was not intentional, the one missed note in taps, I think, is symbolic. The stoic perfection of the funeral had at that moment, it's one emotional crack of heartache.

I always get a huge knot in my throat at 1:17:01 when the pallbearers did an about face and saluted the casket as they left JFK for the final time. From what I've read, this wasn't planned but was done bc they felt they had been with him for 4 days and didn't want to leave him for doing so meant that he was really gone from us and life was moving on without him in our world.

I remember watching this on our small black and white TV ....I was 12 years old at the time ..
Remember the adults asking one another who could do such a horrible thing .. Everyone was greiving ...

Stopping Neil Armstrong, it was a short step for the presidency of U.S.A; But their legacy of justice, of fighting for human rights, of racial integration, will be an eternal example and inspiration to continue defending these principles.

Is there clearer footage than this? Just asking and wondering if CBS has that excellent first generation film as I think they pretty much used film in 63 rather than tape.

Tape came in 1958, but everything got literally thrown together for this. US Network TV had never covered anything for 4 days.

Seriously? When the pallbearers are taking the casket off the caisson (the TV announcer called it a hearse) they cut away and show the bagpipe players? Then, when the pallbearers are placing the casket on the lowering device, they cut away and show jets flying overhead? Two huge mistakes.
