"What if they kill like... Dumbledore..? I don't think Dumbledore would die."
... OH, WELL!
Damn you guys are good at guessing stuff.
@JS thats exactly the point
Voldemort is a half blood. Remember in Chamber of Secrets where the memory of Tom Riddle called his father a filthy muggle.
Tom riddle senior was muggle. That's why voldemort changed his name. And the bone worm tail adds to the potion in goblet of fire was from the riddle grave plot, in the village where voldemorts father met the gaunt daughter, voldemorts mother.
Read the books this comment pissed me of. SNAPE IS THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE. HE INVENTEED THE SPELLS AND QROTE THE BOOK.
@@satlynutzthe og comment didnt call Voldemort a half blood prince, calm down
I'm a diehard HP Fan, and it felt so refreshing and fun to sit here and watch a newcomer watch and enjoy it! Never knew I needed this! Just wanted to clarify with you something that is more detailed in the books, and sorry if somebody already said it in the comments. Basically, Snape's mother is called Eileen prince, and she went on to marry a muggle named Tobias Snape. Snape as a child was abused by his father, and so he prided himself on being a Prince rather than a Snape, so that, along with being proud that he is at least a wizard, constructs The Half-Blood Prince.
Very interesting mate! didn’t now
Same here, it's always good to see newcomers enjoying this series. And you have a very clear explanation to the plot, which is cool.
Thanks for the info! :) Can you tell me why did the death eaters want Snape join to their squad, if he was half mudblood?
@@NinjaBee81 He was just a half-blood and it was pretty known that most wizards were more likely than not a little muggle because most bloodlines aren't pure so they didn't really care
@@NinjaBee81 also
Voldemort is a half-blood himself sooooo
"I hope no one else dies in this movie", friend, started with Cedric and J.K didn't stopped anymore!
@mitko00 the flobberworms please no ahaha most tragic deaths of the series
I guess it actually started with Barty Crouch Sr. But he was kind of a jerk, so we don't really care that much.
@@PhilBagels I didn't even remember his existence.
Lowkey has some of the best cinematography of the series
Idk the 3rd one was a cinematic masterpiece imo
@@papdaddy8864 I have to agree from a technical point of view. I don't really like the story to be honest, but the cinematography is beautiful.
Not that the others are bad or anything, but they got pretty generic after the first three.
It also low-key has the second best soundtrack of the series. Obviously first is POA 🖤
Absolutely! The shot of Dumbledore in the fire. When it starts above him and pans straight down combined with the score is probably my favorite shot in the entire series.
I hate how a lot of this film is shot as it’s too dark colour wise but has some great shots like the cave scene, the dark mark and a few other moments
can you imagine this man at Hogwarts calling ppl bitches when they actin funny, or bullying someone lol

2:50 "What if they kill like... Dumbledore?" . . . . . . . oh boy
The most disturbing things about Sectumsempra are that it translates to “To cut forever” and that you’re supposed to drag the wand in a slashing motion, so when Harry used the spell he basically stabbed Malfoy
And Avada Kedavra translates to ' I kill '
@@wellesleyedits no it translates to “I kill as I speak”
@@charliehelm397 in what language
@@charliehelm397 It particularly said Avada Kedavra when I translated I kill
Thats why sectumsempra is my favorite spell
Dumbledore can UNDERSTAND parseltongue. He can’t speak it. He learned it to better understand Voldemort. He can also speak Mermish (mermaid language) Gobbledygook (goblin language) and others. Also Voldemort is half blood. He says so in Chamber of Secrets “You didn’t think I’d keep my filthy muggle fathers name.” Ginny is only a year younger. In Harry’s second year Ginny entered Hogwarts. Ginny is not the only female. The original team all 3 chasers were girls. Katie was from this movie is one. Angelina, Fred’s date to the ball in GoF is another. Lastly Alicia Spinnet. With Alicia gone last year, Ginny tried for chaser. Now Angelina is gone and the only og members left are Katie and Harry. Plus some new third chaser I don’t remember who made the team. I hate that they made him throwaway the book. In the books he just hid it from Snape and said he would go back for it. I mean why get rid of it? You could just not use the spell labeled “For enemies.” Well maybe except on enemies. Ginny was even on his side that Harry was right in defending himself. Voldemort killed Lily and James just cuz they were protecting Harry.
Only in the books not in the movies.
@@sonicartzldesignerclan5763 Which part
They didn't go into the reason Voldemort went after Harry and his parents in the movies, but at the end of the Order of the Phoenix Harry freaked out at Dumbledore for abandoning him the whole year (and also cause Sirius died), and Dumbledore said he wouldn't hide things from him anymore and explained that the teacher from Prisoner of Azkaban made a great prophecy (the one they were fighting over in that movie) during Voldemort's reign that a wizard boy born at the end of July would one day be Voldemort's equal and "neither could live while the other survives". The prophecy could have applied to Harry or Neville, the only wizard boys that were born during that time who also had family fighting against him. It ended up being Harry because Voldemort chose to go after him
The prophecy also mentioned the child was born to parents that had evaded death 3 times. True for both Harry and Neville.
@Dilara yes, the series would have been called “Neville Longbottom” instead of “Harry Potter”, if Voldemort had marked Neville as his equal instead of Harry
@@cillaw1080 Just to add, I believe the prophecy said “parents had defied Voldemort 3 times”. Since both sets of parents were in the Order and had several clashes with Voldemort and the Death Eaters, it would end up being either of their children. But like OP said, since Voldemort went after Harry and the Potters, he marked Harry as his equal
They did kinda go over it in the movies. It’s just hard to understand if u haven’t read the books, since they just gloss over it
Primate: "I hope we don't have any more deaths in this!"
Me: "Oh boy..."
"What if Harry's the half-blood prince?"
So then hypothetically the title would be "Harry Potter and the Harry Potter." Makes since
It sure does make since
I love how visually different this movie is from the rest of them (particularly the lighting)
“I hope we don’t have any more deaths in this one. I don’t think my heart can take it.”
Um, well…..about that…..
"What if they kill someone else important. Like.. Dumbledore.." THIS DUDE CAN SEE THE FUTURE
How could you skip the harry using the liquid luck scene. Probably my favourite part of the movie
“Harraay😟” “Suurr🙂”
When you said not just Harry losing a godfather, lupin also lost his bestfriend... I suddenly randomly realized (remembered?) all the marauders died :/
Petergrew didn’t die in the film lol he just went “ouch”
@@christucker7655 Canonically he did die in the books however. Book canon makes it so.
11:04 voldemort actually is half blood, which makes it even more funny how much they care about blood purity.

Idk why but this film is the most nostalgic dor some reason i love the music and tone and the cinamatography is impecible
I agree. This movie isn’t my favorite In the series, and I think they cut out a lot of important scenes from the book. But the cave scene until the end of the movie is incredible, and it’s almost exactly how the book describes it
Bruh, Malloy wasn’t scared he didn’t want to do it, you could tell in the bathroom scene before Harry said something and if Draco wanted to kill Dumbledore he would have easily done it.
Malfoy*
He would have easily killed dumbledore, lol so Draco’s stronger then dumbledore, okay kid
@@dylanleff373 apparently since Dumbledore was weak at that time so technically yes, so shut up and don't assume someone's age
@@dylanleff373 so you're also saying snape is stronger than Dumbledore? OKAY KID
@@AnsophOfficial no lol when did I say that
• The bridge scene has never happened in the books but Death Eaters did start to kidnap, torture and kill muggles "for fun".
• Just to give you a perspective on this, firstly, Death Eaters aren't some gang in the hood. Not even just a crime organization. Voldemort is going at WAR with them against the whole magical world. They are truly awful disturbing people. That's why Ron and Hermione didn't believe Draco could be a Death Eater cause it for sure sounded ridiculous and out of the blue. Especially since Harry claimed he's not only just a Death Eater, but also a Marked one. That's one of the things they argued a lot about in the books, Hermione even thought Harry was simply obsessed with Draco. Because, while many can be Death Eaters (even self-proclaimed), only chosen ones (very few of the most loyal circle) could be marked by Voldemort with a Dark Mark. So both thought just some 17 yo boy (even if from Malfoy family) would never be marked and assigned a task by Voldemort himself. Granted, Voldy expected Draco to fail the mission and planned to kill him as an example anyway. And if for some reason Draco would've succeeded (which in the end they still did), it would be also a win for Voldemort cause Draco ain't no small fish. So he deemed it reasonable to mark him as a Death Eater.
Also, even if in the last book/movie Draco was pardoned by the Ministry, Harry still very disliked him till the end for being obsessed with Dark Arts (and for being a not good person obviously).
• The attack on Weasley's family house has never happened in the books as well. I have no idea why would they put it in the movie at all.
• Now, see... I wouldn't agree with you there. Yes, Draco ain't nice guy or just a troublemaker like Weasley twins. He's a bully, asshole, racist and all around "bad guy".
However, Draco is just a kid who was raised in an evil unloving household and ended up in an unfortunate situation to have no choice but be on the Voldemort's side. Many would argue that Harry was in a similar situation but ended up a good person. Well, Draco still loves his parents no matter what and thinks they know better. So he follows their example. He was also treated both as a prince and at the same time just as a family successor aka without the true expression of love (was cared for like for a valuable thing). Of course, that still does not excuse his awful actions and deeds, but it explains them.
• Severus Snape was an exceptional wizard. His book actually contained many self-created spells, charms and curses. He is a literal genius ^_^
• After the seventh book I no longer like Dumbledore as much, so I don't get emotional over his death anymore. I wonder if you would feel the same after reading 🙃 However, please do not forget that to rip your soul apart you need to commit murder. Not a kill in a battle or by accident, an actual murder. Do you really think Dumbledore of all people would do that just to live longer?
His funeral was beautiful in the books. And he is indeed the most powerful wizard of them all.
• That Avada Kedavra moment from Severus (Alan Rickman, rip his soul) is my favourite in the whole film history. The amount of emotions, unsaid words, pleas, all of it, in just two words and his voice is BRILLIANT! I love every millisecond of it! Literal chills every time I watch it 🖤
I thought there's something about the bridge in first chapter. When the prime minister got information about new ministry of magic
@@escorpionaira I mean, there was about “some bridge” falling but we don’t knows what caused it, if that was actually related to DE, what bridge was that at all, etc. They type of scene never happened ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Honestly, would’ve been better if we had the Prime Minister scene instead IMHO.
@@lightefilit I think the minister of magic did say that DE is the cause of the bridge falling. I'm in the middle of Half blood Prince book so I'm pretty sure. But yeah, I agreed about what you say
This man is out here predicting the next movies lol
Also, Voldemort is a half-blood. His father was a muggle than his mom bewitched to lay with her
@@TiffaniWright23 damn Frl? So that’s basically rape
I love the belief at the end that you had.
“What if Dumbledore split his soul and he can come back to life. He can’t be dead”
Dumbledore's death always gets me. I remember reading the book the same year my dear grandpa died...I had to stop reading because I was bawling (he reminded to my grandpa. He was like a father to me as my father sucks, he was always drunk and hit me sometimes and left me with anxiety and other issues when my parents divorced). So, idk but this is my favourite movie and book. Also I think is because of Snape's story
25:41 lowkey your shaky hand is why I subbed. That's how you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you truly care about this story
Snape was half blood, and his mothers last name was prince. thats why he named himself the half blood prince.
29:36 *laughs in teenage duelling accidental muggle murder scandal*
This was my favorite book and I wish they would've split it into two movies like they did with the last book because they took out the history of Snape's mom and why he was called "The Half Blood Prince". His mother's maiden name was Prince. Professor Slughorn was another GoT alum. He played the Archmaestor at the Citadel when Sam was there in season 7. Voldemort was a half blood. His father was a muggle but his mother was a direct descendant of Salazar Slytherin.
I like the way you analyse the movies to predict what happens later, like using themes from previous films in the series to predict other events . Really clever and fun to watch
Thanks!
Fang, Hagrid's dog was in the house when Bellatrix set it ablaze. He was saved thankfully.
When Harry uses Snape's spell on him and it backfires. What a scene 👍🏼👍🏼
Didn’t backfire
It didn't backfire. Snape just shot a hex at him before he could fire it.
This one was always my favorite of the series tbh. Felt like a dark comedy which hit well for me
The scene where Snape kills Dumbledore is one of my favorite scenes in the entire movie.
Hermione and Ron were so cute this movie man. It's so annoying when Ron was getting with that other girl 😂
Hermione was so excited for him when he was being a keeper in Quidditch. Then when Harry revealed he didn't give Ron the liquid luck she seemed so impressed.
Yes! #RomioneForever ❤️😍
Every time I see the wands raised for Dumbledore, all I can think about all the fans doing it on Facebook and other social media when Alan Rickman died. I cry more for that than Dumbledore!
20:50 Ayeee that proves who Ron loves first person he thinks of is Hermione when he wakes up
Dumbledore was too noble to do such dark things ❤️
But there was a reason why Dombledore died, in the book he takes an object that has a curse, he would die in a year, he who asked Snape to kill him. Don't blame Draco, it was too much for him,he is a good boy, all of this was due to the upbringing his parents gave him, he is not like that, so much so that he raised his son totally different, this is told in the book.
@@dennismccarroll9814 I'm asking, what's wrong with you? I just explained what he didn't understand, and this is not a spoiler of the last film, it happens in the 6th book, nothing I said is explained in the films
Bruh spoiler warning
Rob Knox, the actor who portrayed Marcus Belby (the fat guy in the dinner of The Slug Club) died at the age of 18 after he was stabbed outside the Metro Bar in Sidcup, South East London, on 24 May 2008. He had intervened in a fight to protect his 17-year-old brother Jamie, who was being threatened by two men, one of whom was armed with two knives.
Anyone watching these movies for the first time will definitely feel emotional because these movies have the power to do that
I've recently been reading the books for the first time and watching the corresponding movie right after, and then watching reactions to the movie (i'm a nerd i know) and I just wanna say how much I appreciate your investment in the series and I love your reactions. Braydin Sims hahahah omg, well I’m glad you liked it! I also read the books for the first time like 3 months ago (I was just a potterhead of movies haha) and I loved them
Dumbledore himself once told, that the most his difficult spells will be nothing versus when Voldemort was on his maximum of power.
Lupin actually became a werewolf when he was a kid because of Fenrir Greyback (the hairy death eater)
A fun fact: Snape's Avada kedavara didn't killed Dumbledore because you really need to mean it for unforgivable curses to succeed. Dumbledore actually died by falling off that tower.
The movies do an absolutely terrible job of establishing that Snape is a spy. Its just in 1 line of the 4th movie and only then in a flashback from 14 years before... which may not even be relevant at all anymore.
Voldemort was half-blood btw
just now noticed that one of the death eaters is the Iron Islander who knocks Theon out and says "it was a good speech. didnt want to interrupt"

Luckily Hagrid wasn’t in the hut when it got blown up, but sadly his dog Fang was... the way the book described the scene was quite unsettling. Basically something along the lines of Harry hearing the trapped dog in pain from being stuck in the burning house.. fuck Bellatrix really

The worst thing about this movie is that they never explained why Snape was the half blood prince, which you think given that it's the name of the movie they would do
This was the first Harry Potter movie I saw in theaters, my childhood friend was a huge fan. We used to make terrible fan films lmao. This is still my favorite one to this day, Order of the Phoenix is a close second with Goblet of Fire at third

The mission impossible franchise should definitely get up on the next few polls! Just rewatched the latest 2 and forgot how solid of a series it is. Obviously if you haven't seen each one already that is

Have a quick think about how quickly this story has turned and caught you up from the lovely cute magical children's film of the first. I love the plot development and characters. If you read or listen to the books the world is even bigger and deeper than the films. Great reactions dude and dudette. Riddle killed Harry’s parents because of a prophecy that Harry would kill him (though it didn’t say Harry’s name, just a boy born in July by parents who defied Voldemort 3 times) so basically they were “in the way”
At 2.55 he said " İ dont think dumbledore's got killed "
Hahahahaha :))))
Voldemort is a half-blood.
His mom was a witch, his father was a muggle
Damn he really guessed that Dumbledore, Harry (kind of), and Ron's brother would die
snape being the half blood prince i found very obvious since he was the potions professor and it was most likely gonna be an adult. and cause he was able to heal draco easily after harry used sectumsempra on him. dumbledore dying is probably the biggest plotwist in the harry potter series. or maybe it would be snape’s story. i freaking cry when snape pulls out the sword of gryffindor in the book. of course i cry through the whole time u see snape’s memories but i especially cry at that part. since only a true griffondor can pull out the sword.
Fun fact: in the first movie when Harry looked in the mirror his mother is jk Rowling the one who made the books
Tom Riddle (Voldemort) is actually half-blood himself, but resents his father, so he adopted extreme purist beliefs as a result.
the dark arts teacher is always the bad guy lol
His foreshadowing is suspiciously accurate in every video
Draco was forced into being a death eater you could see he didn’t want to do it
My second favorite book besides prisoner of Azkaban. I was. Devastated reading it. Then I read part 7 and realized how brilliant part 6 is. It's mind blowing 👍.
I wished they explained why Snape called himself "half-blood prince". At the end of the book we found out that Snape was half-blood with a muggle father. His mom's name was Eileen Prince before she married Snape's dad. And obviously Snape never liked being connected to his muggle father and their side of the family and preferred his mother's wizarding side and that's why he gave himself that nickname. It's not supposed to be a "royal" title as some people I know thought it was. lol
"weird girls" name is Luna. lol

Just letting you know that snape’s mother’s maiden name is prince and snape hated his muggle father because he was abusive. It explains it in the book. So snape was a half-blood and wanted to be referred to using his witch mothers name instead of his muggle fathers name. ie half-blood prince
