Beginning Sound Game letter C Notes
This game is essential in helping children to unlock the keys to writing and reading, and children love it.
Sound Games.
Purpose: Assist children in recognizing phonetic sounds.
Ages: Usually 2 and 1/2 to 4 1/2. Depends on child's interest.
Prerequisites: expose child to phonetic sounds of letters: see these videos:
Phonetic Alphabet:

Tracing Big Letters:
• Video
Procedure: Invite child -"Let's play a sound game!"
Choose 3 objects - All begin with the same letter AND the child knows the names of.... bring them to a child sized table.
Name each object - this is a car., this is a cat, etc.
Give obvious clues - I am thinking of one of these things---it starts with the sound CCC it is red and people drink from it. What am I thinking of? (cup).
Game 2
Choose 3 objects with different first letters. For example, bring a ball (B), a car (C) and a spoon (S).
Repeat as above.
