The King of Boybands
truly the male voice of our generation! b-rok has proved himself not just as any basic boybander but a real vocalist. despite his bright voice, he still has an extremely solid lower register, a phenomenal bright belting register echoing the late Luther vandross and an angelic head voice which reeks of his influence brian mcknight.
in the past 5 years, he has been suffering from vocal tension dysphonia but he still managed to deliver some great vocal performances! i hope therapy will help him get his voice back to where it originally was! :D
Every single time he hits those high notes, I feel like an angel appears on my side. ♥️
BSB would never have been as big as they were without Brian's voice!

@@user-rw2dr5my1s No I didn't imply Brian alone made them successful. The group needed Brian to take them as popular as they were. They're a group, but Brian's voice enhanced the group more than any individual in the group.

@@anyib.3150 Howie and AJ were supposed to be the lead singers initially but once they started to record songs for their first albums AJ, Brian and Kevin were picked for the the main singing roles.
@@user_3610 No, Howie was the lead. Brian was already in BSB. This was in 1993, 1994.
I miss his voice so much! He was my favorite because of his voice before I even saw what they looked like...of course, looking at him made it even better!.. But, I'm really sad that he's going through all these troubles with his voice. He still hits the high notes great, but I miss his range and original sound. I mean, he was the most notable sound of BSB at first. I feel like we've lost a great singer! I hope a miracle happens so that he can sing like that again!

I applaud the dedication it takes to find all these clips and put together a video such as this. Also that Eb5 puts him as a leggero tenor which is higher than a lyric tenor(D5), and the ease with which he hit that Eb5 you can tell he has at least one more note higher than that, his voice is something else

Brian lacks the agility of a Leggiero Tenor. Which is why I classify him as Lyric Tenor
@@MimiXtinaChelleKRow I agree I’m a lyric tenor but I’m more agile than Brian and can hit F/F#’s easily in good days if I mix well I can hit G#5/A5. Other than that my tesitura is between G2-E5. So range only makes up one part of the classification it it’s really your consistency that determines what kind of tenor you are to me and from what I’ve learned. You could do all kind of amazing flageolet and soprano head voice notes but that doesn’t make you a sopranos suddenly and there’s some sopranos that can hit low baritone notes but that doesn’t make then a baritone but it’s about consistency, support, control and technique.
Omg did you just call him Leggiero? Despite him having not that fast of a voice??? Leggiero tenor requires more than ease in higher belts, they need agility which he clearly isn't capable of. Besides who thought it's a good idea to use such in depth Operatic fach for pop music even. Just use Lyric Tenor or Tenor. It's more than suffice.
His voice is so beautiful. Knowing that he struggles so much now kills me. :/ I wonder if the constant touring for years and years is what lead to his vocal condition?

I dont know why but sometimes his voice is playing safe. You can clearly hear in the last parts of the video you can really feel the emotions when he sings like that.

I'm currently addicted to Lee Ryan, what a beautiful voice , her grades are incredible , really is the best voice of the Blue , is practically a second version of Brian Littrell rs , loves a powerful acute !
Lee Ryan voice range is far different from Brian one. Both beautiful but way different .

The same here. I think Lee Ryan's voice is somewhat similar to Brian's. Soft, tender and angelic. But I prefer Brian, because he harmonized better with his band mate, while in Blue, Lee sings all the hard part by himself.

Brian's left leg just be going and going and going lol. And someone help me understand why he can still belt relatively easily but he's having so much trouble in his lower register. I'd think it would be the other way around.

EATeezey Late response, but Brian has vocal tension dysphonia, meaning his vocal chords tighten a lot, to the point that they strangle his voice at times.
High notes require some tension whereas lower notes require your throat to open up to hit those low notes: think a flute (small little thing; high-pitched) vs a tuba (huge, wraps around people; very low-pitched).
It's easier to relax enough to sing high notes; hitting low notes requires looser vocal chords than he can get usually.
tl;dr his vocal chords are too tight to allow low notes usually. it's a music thing: large=low, small=high
Jeri Grant It’s so sad to hear how his voice strains sometimes. ): He was truly so incredible before the dysphonia and i feel for him so much bc it must be so hard mentally for him when he was able to belt with no problem for most of his life :/

Sorry but i can't agree, i am a big BSB fan and i do know how much both their voices are featured in most of their songs but as every band the combination made them perfect. I think Kevin has a beautiful warmer voice that complements the base and Nick brings a popish tone to it and Howie gives it a certain sweetness so to me BSB are 5 together amazing voices. individually beautiful, perfect together :)
I agree. Their force is when they’re all together! If one of them is not there it’s game over. The bond they have should be celebrated 4 ever. This is why I will always respect them! 26 years of friendship in the industry is very rare
When we come to a boy band song it's not only the lead vocals which matter. Without Howie bsb harmonies would have been nowhere and without Kevin, the bass parts would have been shit.
