I too was stripped away from London rather unexpectedly and had to move back to the US. It was crazy amounts of tough - especially in the first year or so after. Reverse culture shock is a thing and I, too, had built a dream life with beautiful friends who became family. It's been quite a few years now and i haven't moved back to London - but i have visited a ton, I've kept my friendships as strong as they were when i lived there, and my friends gave also come and visited me! And, thank goodness, Pret AND Nando's are now in the US!!! Lol I guess what I'm trying to say is.... it wasn't easy but i made it to the other side and found a different dream life in the process here in the states that still included the most important bits of my dream life in London. You'll find a way to make your dreams come true too! ❤
I still miss London every day too and dream about it all the time, like it's some magical place!!!! You will get back! x
Here’s to dreaming together! 💌🥹
Im a Londoner, living in London. I can definitely see why people love it here. So many things to do and see. We're a simple bunch with simple food, but we're proud of this little island! Hope you get to fulfil your dream again one day!
No Chick fil a in London, no Pret in Austin. But there is a flight from Austin to Heathrow every day, and you don't need a visa to come and see your friends!
I agree with you and understand your feelings for London and being abroad. I am from Vienna (Austria) and don't really have the dream or motivation moving to London, even though I have been there for a few days and really like the city and people a lot there. But for me moving to the USA for example, would be a bigger adventure somehow, maybe because London is part of Europe and therefore similar to Vienna where I grew up. As someone like you, growing up in the US, London seems to be the bigger adventure for you. I think, no matter where you grew up, being and moving somewhere else is just very exciting. It's the best for personal growth and gaining life experience. I wish you all the best in Austin and in near future hopefully in London again.
I studied abroad in London and had the life I always wanted since 2013, when I originally decided I wanted to go there. I too had always struggled to make friends growing up and when I went to London I was suddenly making friends so quickly and so easily and life was just so amazing. When I came back to the US I crashed hard and really began to mourn the life I was pulled away from. Since coming back, one of my American friends I met in London came to visit me in November and were planning our next trip. Nothing will ever compare to that experience in London and I still feel a strong pull to there and I’m trying to plan another study abroad to go back to London one last time before I graduate because I just know that’s where I belong.
I feel you 🥹 thank you for sharing! You’ll be back soon xx
We need you back here in the UK ASAP!
Whatever you chose in life you will be a great success.
Great blogger.
UGA grad here too! I understand your feelings all too well. We're finally making the permanent move to Scotland in May after dreaming about it for the past decade. Wishing you well and hoping you find a way back over to the UK at some point
This is so sweet. Congratulations on your journey 🩷
Get the VISA, get the job and come home(London).
Hi Izzy. Pret A Manger means ready to eat in French. It’s a play on words from the fashion term Pret A Porter (ready to wear).
Totally resonate with the sentiment that nothing is permanent, things change and we can adapt to build our dream life 🥰
Miss you so much, love you lots and always supporting from thousands of miles away xx. You will be back. I know it

You are an Honorary Londoner Izzy.
You will be welcome back any time.
In 1982 I left Hampstead and moved to San Clemente for six years.watching all your videos reminded me of myself but in reverse, my local was the Abbey Tavern which was one of the first places you went to on a night out. My memories of dates in Orange County have stayed with me, just like yours will. I’m now Sixty Four and have returned to Southern California a few times since and always gives me a sense of achievement. These memories will stay with you forever; I understand and get it.❤
I love the commitment on this video - maybe you are talking a little bit too fast but you can feel the emotional engagement!
Loved this one Izzy, and seeing how talking about London makes you so happy. I hope that Austin is making you happy too, but it's clear where your heart really is. Sorry to mention I'll be there again this Saturday 😄Also great to hear you'll be able to have a "cheeky Nando's" soon over there aswell!
hi Izzy keep your dream alive get back to london we all miss you
You made such wonderful memories in London Izzy. In my biased opinion London is the best City in the world. I really hope you can get back as soon as possible. ❤
Loved it when you were on London all those outings...and park life...
Good luck with this journey
Izzy your vlogs are a fantastic drinking game. Take a drink every time Izzy says in 'London', you'll be absolutely sloshed in five minutes or less.
Hope you get back to London soon Izzy and as a Londoner its great to hear that you love my city. Sadly a lot of my British friends hate the city and run it down at every opportunity. When you mentioned that you have to drive into Austin it reminded me of a funny (though scary) event on my only visit to the US 10 years ago. I visited Orlando with my parents and a couple they were friendly with and we stayed in this lovely house owned by some mutual friends. On day my Dad suggested we leave the car at home and explore the local neighbourhood on foot but turned very scary as nowhere safe to walk and at one point crossed a huge 6 lane highway. I'm sure we'd have been charged with jay walking if the locl cops had spotted us.
the lane family love and miss you too!!!
Hehe I can't remember the first time I recommended Nando's to you glad to see you doing so well and i did wonder if you kept up with your friends what about the American ones you had in your 3 month stay did you keep in touch with them plus i know one day we will see you back in London as i said to you a little time ago it is part of your heart now great vid and such nice things said about our country all the best Izzy keep going
Anyone notice the Union Flag in the thumbnail is wrong. It's symmetrical when the St Andrew and St Patrick should be offset. Just saying...
I’m so excited for Nandos!!!! I read a lot of 1d fan fictions haha
You didn’t go the the right places. Even Stanley Tucci says London has the best food to eat and shop for in the WORLD. And he even wants to do one of his programmes around U.K. not just Italy .,
Love the positive, look to the sunny uplands attitude. You should consider life coaching. Btw, I’m in a very dank and damp London at the moment, which might make you a little grateful for NOT being here at the moment….
Just a thought izzy there advertising a job for an official adviser for taylor swift at the v&a in London ideal 👌 for a super fan 😀 😉 ❤
👍
❤🙏
Thank god for visas, me me me me & also me
Did you sue the school - where's there's blame there's a claim! A significant reason for choosing it - spending a lot of money doing so - was the two-year work visa, I'm guessing. If it was falsely advertised, it only seems fair to be compensated. Psssst! Maybe you can't talk about that at the moment! Sounds juicy though! Please spill the beans when you can.
We don’t sue in Britain. Not Willy nilly Thank God
I agree, not willy nilly. If you slip on a sausage in a supermarket, just be more vigilant.
False advertising is different. If you mislead people into spending a lot of money, one way or another they deserve a significant amount back.
come back you can marry a brit london his your city
