From Canada: watching our new monarch give his first Christmas address has moved me to tears. Having lost my husband this year, his message of love and light and hope, was especially meaningful.
So sorry for your recent loss.

Also from Canada and how close Britain used to be with us, I found this incredibly interesting.
I’m not the biggest fan of the Royal family tbh but I was quite impressed that whilst we have a Govt trying to blame our emergency services fighting for better work conditions and fairer pay , for Charles to highlight how valuable these people are was a good reminder that they deserve so much better .

As a pastor and a Yank, I am impressed by the King's remarks by their generous inclusivity of other faiths and by the vision Charles shared of a social order characterized by compassion and neighbor-serving love. May it be so for the UK, the Commonwealth, and the world.
Charles said he is defender "of faith"...not "The Faith"...to make everyone inclusive.
Many of our religious leaders here n the USA who spread bigotry, homophobia, and live off of the tax free grift could learn a lot from this message…

We lost our mom three weeks after the Queen died, so I know his pain. This speech particularly spoke to us and I am profoundly grateful. What a wonderful first Christmas speech!

I did not know how it would go this Christmas, but Charles' message was very personal and uplifting.
It was touching and he presented it very well.
The Royal Family should be shipped back to Germany as that is where they came from. In 1714 Prince Georg of Hannover was invited to Britain to become king. George I, II, III, IV and William IV all had German wives. Queen Victoria had a German husband; Gerorge V had a German wife. There is very little that is remotely English about the royal family. In 1917, they changed their family name from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor to lessen their German affiliations at a time of war with Germany, especially when Gotha aero-planes were dropping bombs on London! The British should ditch the monarchy and declare a republic.

I will admit I was skeptical of Charles. I'd of rather William be King. But after seeing this speech, I believe he's not only stepped into his role but stepped up to his role. He's ensured that everyone is included in this holiday season, not just those who believe in christmas.
it would have been so wrong to deny Charles his right to be King after he has waited his whole life to do so. . Depending on his health it may not be for too long and I'm sure William is happy to wait in line. Wiliiam & Catherine will be such a great King & Queen.Consort.

No, the Throne of England does not belong to the House of Windsor as they are only historical titular heads. It does NOT belong to all the non Christian religions of the world. THAT THRONE IS THE BIBLICAL THRONE OF DAVID THAT BELONGS TO CHRIST AT HIS SOON SECOND COMING where He will end up governing the whole world. To share it with all the pagan religions of the world will bring judgment to Britain and the Commonwealth in the same manner the wicked King Manasseh did when he reigned on that promised throne. Like Manasseh, King Charles refuses to take the real Coronation Oath to defend the Protestant Reformed Faith of the realm Woe onto Britain if another king does what Manasseh did to incur God's wrath. If Britain and the Commonwealth do not accept the rightful owner of that Throne, He will reject them with vengeance. See 2 Kings: chapter 21.

May we all move closer in our relationship to the Divine and realise that this life is not the ultimate reality. O little town of Bethlehem is a hymn, the words pour into my heart as, each year, it becomes any town ……. in the dark streets of poverty, hardships and sadness, the everlasting light streams in food banks for poorly paid, warm spaces for the impoverished, Nightshelters for the homeless. You and me are the hands and feet of the light - thank you Charles for a reminder of that. Your speech spoke well to all people in the UK. Time to abolish this outdated monarchy. This king's mother ,the so-called 'Queen' left behind a legacy of denial of treacherous plunder from nations, killing of innocent, unarmed civilians through inhuman laws and staying defiant on the crimes against humanity that her Empire perpetrated. She had 70 years to openly repent for their actions, but never once did I hear I'm sorry, or please forgive us, not once. She also had all the time in the world to return some or all of the stolen stones and artifacts from Africa and Indian subcontinent but never did. The torture, and Mutilation of people in the colonies can never be forgotten, or forgiven. Prince Charles is a man who has just lost his mother, his son has left the family, his brother is a pervert and he lost his first wife in an accident. However, seeing him deliver a message of good faith and positivity encourages me to keep strong, because I am struggling right now with my own family problems on Xmas day.

@@KyleSLFC He's a very wise and upfront man. He's warned people of climate change for decades now, before everyone else. He's much more direct than his mother was and that's a good thing in my eyes.

What a wonderfully inclusive speech by our new King. I love how he has kept with our late Queen's tradition of focusing on people, community etc whilst putting his own personal twist on it by speaking from the Chapel at Windsor, instead of the desk in Buckingham palace. Bravo. And I'm sure it has been a difficult Christmas, missing such an amazing lady as Our Queen.

Well done. There will be an empty space at their Christmas table this year, as there will be for many of us. Royalty or not, we all share the common love of beloved family members who are gone.
