I read this book when I was in fourth grade and loved it so much that I read the whole series and continued to search for any and every book that had to do with Merlin. That was 20 years ago and I still think about this series from time to time and about how good it was.
Thank you for this book. I used to read this when I was small, times when my mother had to force me to read. But I’m so glad to have found this book in the library thanks to her and it was the start of my enjoyment of books in general.

But I love your voice you sound like your really in the story and I have what doctors call racing thought so my mind never shuts down not even when I sleep my brain does not. So I don't have dreams. Mary Stewart wrote a beautiful and engaging tale called The Crystal Cave which dies indeed cover Merlin's upbringing and his search for his father. She covers in great detail Merlin's special gifts and abilities and her book was published over 30 years ago, long before yours.
Not to mention the fact that his storytelling lacks depth, character development, and is full of logical contradictions, ug. I don't think I can finish this book.
