This is so sick. It's like country mixed with folk mixed with black metal. I love it.

Despite it's current reputation as a "white" thing, country owes alot to delta blues and the like. Of course there's similarity.
The absolute godlike skill on display, seamlessly blending between completly difficult genres back and forth in the same song like it's nothing. This is what musical genius looks and sounds like, people.
This is why you have to DARE and mix genres that have nothing in common...pure perfection.
This is fuckin scary and I love it. The combination of this dark, ritualistic chanting with death metal is just beyond amazing. Creepiness, uncanniness combined with raw power. Devastating! (In a good way)
this is more black metal than death metal.

Diver Survivor Tbh I live both versions for different reasons. The original is more raw but this is more refined, more I intricate and more deliberate in everything it does. It all fits together better imo.

all the vocals are too good. the screams turned into actual shrieks on this one, i was absolutely shocked when i heard 1:05 for the first time!

This is called perfection! For me this song is the synthesis of the Band
The powerful voices of Manuel, Denis and Marc tearing the melody. A beautiful and strong wall of sound built by Mia and Tiziano in a progressive sickly tempo. And to conclude all the harmony, holding down all this ... a booming drum grooves thanks to Marco's work.
Thats why Z&A is and will be one of my favorite band.
Manuel actually recorded all the instruments (except the drums) on the album
it went from southern rock to blackened death metal without even noticing...

Finally getting to hear a studio version of this absolutely fantastic song, I'm having a bit of a rough time adjusting to this after dozens and dozens of listens to the live version. It's very different, not bad, and definitely growing on me, just requires quite a few listens.

@@lucifermorningstar6169 weirdly none of the guys in the OT appear to be "the devil." the snake is just in genesis, lucifer is probably a reference to a contemporary babylonian king, and the weirdest one, "satan" (accuser) is clearly an angel (or even more than one) serving god as an advocate against humanity, good cop/bad cop style. he certainly doesn't come off as an enemy of god in the book of job if you read it without prejudice.
the guy we think of as the devil is a conglomeration of all three of these guys, plus influences from other characters like zoroastrian ahriman and the watchers in the book of enoch. specifically the idea of an angel being cast down from heaven is not attested anywhere in the OT
of course that doesn't mean you can't be a satanist or luciferian, even a literal one. gods don't have to be real to be worth worshiping. imaginary people have had way more effect on the world than real ones.
