Nice review. I also enjoy this shoe for all the reasons you say. I still think the old carbon rocket for track work days or fast 5k is a great choice even though Rocket X is a bit lighter. Even though it’s a bit expensive, I think Rocket X is probably the best shoe available for daily training and still good for a race. I also know it’s unlikely I’ll pick up an injury in this shoe.

    Great Review!
I have a new pair of Nike Zoom Fly 3 I got at a bargain price at a Nike Outlet Store. How does the Nike compare to the Rocket X? Is there enough differences to buy the Rocket X if I will use both for training. I am a slower runner. My long run is an hour for a distance of 6 miles.

With the Rincon 2 being cheaper and lighter. Any reasons why not to get the Rincon vs Rocket X.

Rincon is one of the narrowest HOKA models, need to be cautious

The Rincon is a lot more flexible and not as snappy as the Rocket X. It's outsole is also a lot less durable than the Rocket X.

How are these compared to the RC Elite for 5k (at sub 25 min paces) and 10k (sub 55 min) distances?

I'd pick the RC Elite for 5km and 10km distances. Much lighter and better grip.

Hi I weigh 90+ kg will Bondi 7 will be good pick for daily runs upto 10 kms alternate can buy Rocket X as well as all purpose shoes.
On Nike Pegasus 38 I could feel jerks and shin and knee hurt as well as heel sore can't handle stable pace so want to swap. Am Normal Arch and forefoot striker toes almost the high heel drop in Nike wasn't favourable it seems.

@@Runningshoesgurucom Hi Got Hoka Bondi 7 and did few runs it's feeling very comfortable no soreness and even improved my pace by 30 secs which I was losing due to fatigue and pains. Will keep it for long runs and easy runs. Would like your suggestion later on for a tempo and race day shoes.

Having enough volume, stack/cushion, width, length, light, and while being $100+ less=
Rocket X. But then again you could say all of these things with Saucony Endorphin Speed or Brooks Hyperion Tempo both @$30less than RocketX...

    • @LawBrandon

But the Speed and Tempo don't have carbon plates.
