The best feature of this keyboard is the amount of controls Roland placed on that panel. Arranger keyboards can be very complex and the more hands-on control you have the easier it is to use them, and this E-A7 has ever square millimeter of the panel full of controls. Makes this keyboard the easiest to perform on compared to all of them. The reason I buy arrangers is for the powerful pattern sequencer (styles) start with a blank style and make your own with complete control and no limitations of notes of a scale. Compete style creation freedom. As far as I can tell the only other arranger this free is the Casio, but the Casio doesn't have this great Roland sound engine. One little secret this is the only arranger that allows the layering of 4 sounds of live play instruments, with the split off, you can use all four tones layered across the keyboard for complex evolving pad sounds. Wonderful keyboard Roland!!!!
I found this an excellent demo . I have both Tyros 4 and 5 and while they are superb in there own right, it is great to hear and see something a bit different. I have been previously also using the Roland BK-7M and I feel this always had the edge in realism regarding the styles over other brands even though some of those others have audio styles, compared side by side. I personally feel Roland have bent themselves backwards with the EA-7 to produce such an arranger packed with so much for the price. Saying that last " for the price, the sounds and styles sound top notch on this demo listening through decent headphones or speakers. Ipad speakers never do any demo justice. Some comments here are overly harsh criticism. There's always going to be something left off which we would want them to feature on any keyboard instrument and it is impossible to please everybody.
I first owned a G-800. Loved it! After that I bought the G-1000. That was a fantastic keyboard / arranger with incredible realistic sound. Then I bought the VA-76. In general even better and more realistic sounds, except for the French "Musette" accordeon which really was a disaster on the VA-76. Then came the G-70 and I absolutely loved its sound, especially the 'virtual Hammond B3" sounds and drawbars, but couldn't own it because I could not afford it. Then came the BK series, which in my opinion did not have better sounds, just more features and gadgets. Now I hear this E-A7 for the very first time and I am totally disillusioned. Even my 15 year old VA-76 sounds more realistic (okay, except for the piano sound maybe). Has Roland been sleeping for 15 years? If I upgrade now, it will not be a Roland again but a Yamaha PSR SX-900 or Yamaha Genos. Great pity, as I have been a faithful Roland fan for 25 years, performing professionally.
Wow the EA7 really sing with your great playing. I have this key board too and absolutely love it. Value/price ratio is the best. And I love it’s so light weight too , only 18 lbs!
Beautiful arranging keyboard. But it has several disadvantages: 1) the lack of a MIDI sequencer 2) when switching the settings of "One touch" and "Favorite" buttons on the pedal hold, the previous setting is "cut" and the next one sounds. Roland FA06 has the Tone Remain function in the settings. If only the E-A7 had this feature. If the developers released an update with the Tone Remain feature, it would be great. I wonder if this is possible?
Roland has very good sounds.. I love Roland products But in Vietnam Yamaha products are more popular because they are easy to use for most Vietnamese......Demo very interesting to enjoy
Are there online resource where you can get voices, styles and arrangements for given songs? I assume that the Lady Gaga setup you used was specifically for that song. My fear is that with the wide selection of regional styles from all over the world, the depth in what I would like to play (pop/rock/singalongs 1960 to present) would suffer. I am not a particular good player and I already use online resources to get chord sheets for songs. Preparations for a song are usually spent trying to find a good chord sheet. It would be good if that time could also be spent looking for keyboard setups as well. I am nowhere good enough to compose a style myself.
Thanks for this concert! I will buy this keyboard, unfortunately I am from Germany so I will use a local dealer. I’m a hobby player, not hockey player, which is something different, I think 🤔
It's a very good setup for an arranger keyboard, buy sadly I hate the Roland soundsets as well as the lack of a variable modulation controler on the stick. I think aside from Nord, all other companies would benefit from a redux of their sound libraries to a more up to date quality, especially Roland. I had the E-50 arranger keyboard more than 15 years ago, and I swear I hear the same sounds it had, in EA7.
Good arranger but I missing innovation and I think the E-80 has better sound. But also curious that Roland came up with their newest flagship like the E-80 what I have with srx 05 and 09.
Does this model have the same wonderful samples as did the E-35 claps, train etc Your bass and drums are very nice samples! We REALLY miss our old E35 :(
The Roland EA-7 is actually an arranger rather than a workstation. The Korg Krome and Yamaha MODX are workstations although technically the Yamaha MODX is a synthesizer. Fantom is Roland's workstation although in my opinion the Roland EA-7 is still usable in music production but the general rule is don't buy an arranger unless you specifically want auto accompaniments.
Hi is the build quality better than my tyros 5. ?? Which in my view as an electronics engineer has extremely cheap buttons and switches and very cheap input and output sockets there a joke to be honest. !! And also paying by card over the phone could you ship to north wales ? Along with pedals. And most important can I assign a pedal to actuate the Leslie as this is paramount for my music. Thank you
*Weird, There is an Scale Setting in the left side of the panel, And you forgot speaking about it. And Oriental style too. Actually this workstation works well for Oriental Musicians, But i think the SET installation and the Expansion will be hard to play with.*
Great demo - what is the name of the "Piano Ballad" song? I think the sounds are similar to the Roland FA sound engine, but you get really a lot of more incl. great World Collection sounds.
You can decide as per your requirements. If you need more styles then you should go for pa600..Vocal harmony is only available on psr s 910.. Korg doesn't have it but it has amazing styles and sounds and also has a touch display. Do not buy any of Roland arrangers as they sound very unrealistic. Seriously. I've tried them. If you want good performance then buy 910. But for best performance and sound quality buy the Korg pa 600
No shit Sherlock. Just go with the Casio CDP-235R. Keyboard, stand, bench new bundle sells around Christmas time at discount stores, like Costco, $450. 88 key. 200 rhythms. Hundreds of tones. No, it does not have midi, it has a USB port. I prefer this to Previa, which has small, rectangular buttons that hurt my fingers switching. This has nice comfortable pads to switch. Why pay those companies you mentioned, ridiculous amounts of your damn hard earned money? The Casio is good for young students, adults. I have fun when my guitar playing friend comes over. We play and sing songs for hours.
How on earth Roland got away with Lionel Ritchie song in their arranger keyboard? Anyways Roland, Yamaha and Korg don't bother upgrading the sampled sounds in their keyboards. These samples are over 30 years old. This arranger is very expensive yet Roland failed to upgrade. It is very much the same samples in their flagship the Roland Fantom and 2004 Roland Fantom X6. My 13 years old Yamaha arranger has exactly the same samples as the very expensive Yamaha Genos 2. My 2008 Yamaha MO6 has the same samples as the latest Yamaha Montage M 😁😁😁
Just bought an EA7 some decent styles but not enough..too much emphasis on the ethnic styles, that said the 'usable' styles pack a punch great kits and basses. Also finding some of the sounds(tones) very harsh especially the strings ( found my BK5 to be the same) don't think Roland have done sweet strings since the va7. Pianos all very much alike not much difference between them, touch sense is crazy difficult to balance, as for EA (expandable arranger) nothing on the market in the form of styles and tones? which I feel this keyboard desperately needs and with the lack of sf2 format support difficult to import sounds unless you're an expert in sampling, bit disappointed to be honest.
+Santhosh Justin I'd have to say that the balance between RH Parts and the backing is skewed a bit too much to the RH. Bed the RH in the backing rather than swamp it, you might have a more favorable idea of the drums. Pianos also need a bit more space around them to sound more lively. I use a Roland BK-9, and can assure you, set up the balances right (Roland always favor the player rather than the backing in ROM setups), the Roland's hold their own with MUCH more expensive arrangers...
+Santhosh Justin Sorry, but compared to your uploads, this is vastly superior... It is an initial demo after all, and he admits at the start that he just received this keyboard. Also, he is playing a selection of styles that caters to different tastes...
+Harry Potier Better? Pretty subjective question. I think they can all give good results. But much depends on YOUR abilities, and your willingness to tweak them the way YOU want. We all got different ideas of 'ideal'. No one make satisfies all (or there would only be one make!). All I can say is try and listen to them all...
+Destinkeys Racing Videos can I ask you as am looking to buy a roland BK9 , is it really a good gigging keyboard for a one man show player?? is the output powerfull enough.?? and how is the drum kits.. thanks allot ! I was using roland g1000 , korg pa3x 76
+Ko Rg . Even a 10 year old PSR s500 wil blow these sounds out.. trust me.. S970 will leave this dead in the water.. I am a person who replaces the lack of talent with instruments. I am good at extracting sounds and features. I know my weakness but i know where to replace it from. PSR 970 has more to offer.. the PA900 also is nothing less though although s970 has the edge because of the ability to tweak sounds on the fly. However I havent walked into the showrrom to have a go with the EA-7 abilities in tweaking sounds. For one man show.. S970 .. install some expansion packs.. Amaze your audience..
The only difference from my keyboard (VA76) is the Internet (usb etc) conections.... The sound is nothing extraordinary, Big deal.... It doesn't worth its price, it shoould be more cheap (at least 500-600 less..........!!!).... I use Roland keyboards for almost 30 years and I think I know a few things......
Thanks again for reaching out to me with your wonderful demos of the Roland EA7. Keyboard’

I have also an E-A7, and you can really everything make your own. Sounds, styles, samples, all.
@@torstenH78
By far the best demo styles session I have ever seen. Master Class sort of. Roland should sponsor you, clearly !
Tony you are the greatest! only one i’ve heard that can make an arranger not sound canned.
Tony great demo of the EA7 sounds amazing ....more more more!
Sounds fantastic! Can't wait to get one, great demo!

pls try search HAKAN ÇEBİ
I think this sounds fantastic. So much so, I just bought one at Sweetwater.

Best demo of this keyboard. Awesome
Thank you very much for your comment!
really nice demo
Beautiful demo! The songs played are really nice! Can you please show a demo of the EA7 vs Yamaha PSR S770/970?
Sound like a live band better than many keaboards.
i have this keyboaard now, its good, use it as backing to my B3
super tony, nice and fully packed demo

Bendiciones!

you play real good. . .
Do the same for the korg pa 600 show it some love
can i insert a usb on the roland ea7 and playback midis file that i composed from sibelius 7?
Eddy Misuari Yes!
Sound good
I quite like this one, but have gone for a Korg. The sound seems decent - on both - but the flashing light would put me off!
I'm confused, what's the best Workstation ? Roland E-A7 / Kork Krome 76 / Yamaha Modx7 ?

Nice demo...very nicely played
Many thanks Gerry!
arrangement wise which one would be better korg pA600 or Roland ea7

+Daniel P les extraits de music c cool mais c mieux avec des explications ,comment creer ,comment modifier, comment importer ,bref le principal.
In Roland EA 7
How to lock Lower Tone
When using Registration Bank (user program)
Wish I could play piano; have a Casio but only to play with features lol

Brilliant but I've had mine for over a year and its VERY difficult to work it all out. I need HELP! Anyone out there with one? The manual is crap.
Great demo - what is the name of the "Piano Ballad" song?

please help me.. i want compred this keyboard..help me decide korg pa 600/300 yamaha psr s770/910 on roland bk5/ea7???thankyou verry much

thanks...but i choise roland ea7..
The brass section could be much better, Roland does perfectly all kinds of electric pianos, electric guitars.
Can I create my styles using this keyboard , I mean create style from scratch ?
+Nissan Zee hi you can create ,modified, edited like you want ,in suport usb or memory keyboard.
I can't see any improvement on Roland's Arrangers anymore.
Korg and Yamaha are the best but expensive of course.

I hear one bad style from old ROLAND E-500 .... ehhh
A yamaha psr s500 cannot beat this but an S710 can to be honest

really strugling hard to make the keyboard look good.. Sad.. for such a hype.. Pianos are lifeless and drums are straight out of a toy box

apart from the keybed, it's better than the bk crap...
