I love the ''show your human side'' part bcuz ultimately simply showing your personality in your essay is already smth UNIQUE about you that no one else can truly replicate, so in that way you could potentially stand out (but of course consider also the other important relevant aspects, etc.)

Sadly I had to receive a rejection letter from Stanford three years ago. I still vividly recall as I spent countless hours writing numerous essays required by Stanford, and Common Application. Despite having to receive rejection letters, many self-reflections and lessons that I learned at the time.

I know a drawback of applying to bunch of schools is that you need to customize your personal statement a bunch of time as well, but say that I have the time for that, what other drawbacks from doing so?
