Honestly? I'm kinda hoping that we see Jason over at Craig's house more often. Nicole seems like the kind of mom who wants to take care of all the kids around her, you know? I'd really love for it to become a thing where when Jason's parents go away, he stays with the Williams from time to time. Tbh Craig's folks are so caring and sweet, they'd probably feel awful if they didn't at least do something to make sure Jason's safe and well fed when he's on his own.

      (Hopefully there’s a dvd for a series/season)

      2. Worrying that it’ll be cancelled just like Justice League Action (that show is awesome and deserves some more episodes to bring on the characters very well)

While I wasn't expecting that to erase all possible issues that Craig and Jason had with each other, Craig did trust him completely when he was acting like a mole, posing as King Xavier's friend/sycophant. And he lived up to that trust. As such, I'm a bit surprised that Craig repeatedly told everyone "He's not my friend!" in this episode. Maybe he just felt that Jason was trying to cross a "best friend territory" line that Craig wasn't comforatble with.

I could've sworn that in the episode where Craig digs up Jason's yard, Jason mentions something about his mother being a police officer - which could also explain why Jason wishes to act as a sort of authority for the Creek. He sees his mother as someone who "protects and serves" and who uses her authority for "the greater good", not quite understanding that being a forest scout isn't really the same as being a cop. But yeah, if Jason's parents are divorced, his father is a business man and his mother is an officer, then you still have that issue of neither of them having much time for their son. I also noticed how Jason ponders if his stepmother is "more comfortable" around her chihuahuas, which makes me think that she's the type of person who doesn't like kids. This could explain why Jason likes to be so neat and orderly, likely having the mindset of "if I'm not messy or loud or disorderly like OTHER kids, maybe my stepmom will see me as a kid who she doesn't mind being around". Man, this poor kid...

You have to appreciate that given the show's popularity, they've made sure to capitalize on it. The whole saga with the other side of the bridge is something that they could only do because the network knows the fans are invested enough for the whole venture.
So they're now using its continued popularity to tackle some harder topics that definitely affect many children, but isn't a comfortable topic to discuss. Not even for adults. They aren't talking down to their fans. They're presenting it in a way that younger audiences and older can appreciate and process. There's nothing a child can do to affect the situation Jason is in, aside from simply offering empathy. An important lesson for most anyone.
When there's nothing you can offer to improve a situation in a meaningful way, a bit of empathy goes a long way. Knowing that others understand the difficulties you're going through makes the burden easier to carry.
In m personal philosophy: The world is an awful, awful place. So do what you can to make it a bit less awful whenever possible.

Jason has been my favorite character for a long time, ever since the fossil episode. There are bits about his character, play style, and way of thinking that I relate to. This episode made that all the more present and I adored this episode and the subtlety of it. The dishes, the confusion surrounding how Craig's family acts, dead set on never being a burden, it felt all too familiar. Gosh, this episode made me absolutely relate to Jason as a character and it made a big change in the way I saw him. Knowing that he learned scouting because it teaches kids how to take care of themselves, and it especially taught Jason how to rely on himself when he couldn't ask help from anyone else.
I've said this somewhere else but I want shake the hands of the people who made this episode and wrote Jason like this. The signs that there's something wrong starts with him being locked out but his parents aren't going to come home to help him get inside, over-apologizing, feeling like his presence is a burden and would rather be someplace uncomfy due to fear of being perceived as bothersome, people-pleasing to avoid further conflict between Craig and Bernard, and then he mentions eating in his own room? Damn.
I understand how Craig is pissed at Jason because of their history and honestly, I don't blame him. Circumstances still doesn't excuse anyone to be a jerk but he does deserve a second chance as a kid. Anyways, I'm happy to see that both of them are friends now but that still doesn't dismiss that Jason doesn't magically know how to do good.
He is one of my favorite characters ever since s3. He is flawed and complex. We're given something to understand why he acts jerky but not something to excuse it. Kid needs some love and just needs to be guided in the right direction. I love him. Love Mrs. Williams for being so kind and welcoming. Her words were so validating when Jason thanked her for everything at the end :)❤️❤️

COTC has become my favorite modern cartoon for their willingness to cover these topics without coming off as preachy. I wish I had this show as a child in the 90’s.

Honestly I used to not like Jason but after this episode I saw him in a different that I can understand. I have a friend who has a father like Jason’s and I can see why Jason acts the way he does. Jason just needs somebody to give him that love he doesn’t get at home like from Craig’s family who I can see giving that to him. Jessica and Bernard clearly already like having him around for different reasons but still liking him.

I have a theory that JP knows that he is in a show
Reason 1:in the episode where he was with the horse girls he said “come on everybody at home”
Reason 2: when Craig ate a pucker sucker he looks at the sky and sees a faint version of his family and JP says “I see them too”
Reason 3: when Craig try’s to find elder marks ferret Kelsey texts Craig and he looks over the texting image
P.s take this with a grain of salt :/

I would like a breakdown of Kelsey as a character as she processes her life wither her friends and how she views it without her mother and now being a member of the LGBTQ+. She's one of the best examples of how one should express themselves as coming out in terms of sexuality and loving another person who is the same sex as you.

Honestly, Craig's family is one of my favourite depictions of a TV family, and honestly seeing that they're POC it's nice to see a positive portrayal of that in media. Throughout the episode I saw a lot of myself in Jason since I grew up in a situation where my family simply didn't do family dinners or I had to go home by myself most days. Thankfully I wasn't neglected and my family didn't treat me nearly to the extent that Jason's seems to, but seeing how grateful he was for the hospitality and how much he admired Craig's home life, he reflects exactly how I feel about the show, especially Craig's family. It's just the sort of thing I wish I had growing up, y'know, and it's nice to feel validated on both sides; in relating to Jason and in seeing something I never had access to in a positive light from people who look like me.

To be honest I feel like they should really hang out to build up the relationship then just sleeping over… because Craig seem like he thinks Jason was a bully or someone that wants something for himself. But now when Jason told Craig some stuff it seems like a growing relationship then disliking each other’s actions….

Could you talk about Richard? The Kid who called dibs, Although nothing is known about him, I have the theory that, like Jason, his parents don't pay attention to him at home, or something left him with a severe trauma so that he behaves just like that.
And I have a theory that connects about why he behaves like this: Richard may be someone close to King Xavier, because if Richard knew that call dibs was serious business and if someone as spoiled as Xavier is friends with someone as unpleasant, untouchable and closed mind like Richard, it's not because of candy, it's because Xavier deep down knows that Richard is equal to him.
And better think that Xavier at some point knew Richard and he led him to the bad way. We know about Xavier, from Richard, on the other hand, and as I said, or do not receive care at home or is traumatized by something. (After all, emotionally unstable people are easier to corrupt)
    He's a potential villain.

It is likely Jason does have rather absent parents, as he said his father seemed to only show attention towards him when bragging about him to his co workers and his stepmother doesn’t seem comfortable around him. It is something that likely isn’t too uncommon where how some kids have parents or a step parent who is not fully comfortable around their child.

2:10 did anyone else notice the symbolism in the flowers that were planted near the chest containing all of the notebooks? Jason specifically exclaimed “What did you do to the Rhododendrons!” And Rhododendrons symbolize Beauty and Warning/Danger. That whole episode foreshadowed the capture the flag war, so I’m pretty sure the flowers were on purpose.
