Christine is a wonderful performer, intent on realising Bach's music with no hint of show(wo)manship, just natural musicality. She is in touch with the instrument, in every sense.
Schornsheim's ability to do nuanced microtiming and ornamentation at such speeds is exhilarating and inspiring. A true Bach expert. She articulates and illuminates everything--entries, responses, phrases, structures--with such clarity, she makes some parts of these works make sense in a new way. I love her focused intensity and calm hands! She's one of the best harpsichordists it's ever been my honour to hear; and believe me, living around the Montreal Early Music scene, I've heard lots. Brava bravissima Mme Schornsheim. Please come visit us in Montreal...!!!
What an amazing fugue subject, a whirlwind in a sea of insidious countersubjects, the triplets and chromatic descent coming and going against the duple meter -- and how it so perfectly complements the feeling of the Prelude! And Ms Schornsheim plays it with the vigor and fluidity it asks! Brava!
What a pleasure it always is to hear this performer. She is so very relaxed as she plays. She exudes confidence and is always prepared, hence comes her confidence and relaxed attitude. As I initially stated, it's always a pleasure for me to hear and see her perform, and I look forward to more from her. Bravo!
I think she is relaxed because she is so well prepared, and knows this music inside and out. Being practiced, and practicing, makes one appear relaxed. I admire her musicianship so much. She is absolutely a premier interpreter of Bach, in part because she understands the rubato of the Baroque. Which indeed is much like jazz, or metal. As far as Vivaldi goes, I am not so sure he truly stands the test of time. Whereas J. S. Bach certainly does.
💚❤💙💛💜🌝⚘🌞🌙🗽🌍🎶🎁
I have commented before on the Bach Society's recordings. This is SHEER GENIUS. As anyone who knows music knows, music is PLAY, it is give and take, it is practice and devotion (like a worldclass Fussballspieler). It is defeat, resignation, failure. And yet. It is all of these things and then punts more to the right field and .... Most times, whatever it is, music is consummation. May I humbly ask the Bach Society to follow this brilliant musician's example and start playing its music OUTSIDE of normally 'classical' venues. I love all your recordings from such venues, but to see and experience this Prelude in this fussball setting simply puts the music out into the extra-universe beyond Andromeda. Impressive, amazing, bahnbrechend, Bach is never more closely at home with us except when Bach is brought home. Then we are all at home, together. An Astounding Performance, brilliant in execution and conception. THANK YOU
Another amazing combination, Bach and football! I dont think Bach will ever be beaten, even if it comes to a match between these two. (Bach versus football)
Such an inspired and 'imaginative contrast' in which to see and hear a work of the "Great Master" perforfomed! Obvious Kudos to the performer of BWV 875, but Kudos too, to the person who envisioned and delivered it!
I agree with your comments on this wonderful, gifted performer. I look forward to hearing and seeing more of her wonderful performances. I'm going to hear and see you play on your UA-cam channel. All the best to you!
I really liked the performance and the cinematography, but i dont really like the advertisement of the team and the stadium. You are doing historic recording, dont fall into that trap.
What's wrong with a football stadium? This performance combines two of my favorite things: Bach and football! And those are two things that I never thought would ever be put together by anyone but me.

I couldn't live without Bach,!!!
Bach was the earliest rock star. Love his music.
Don't forget Vivaldi
His music is still played in stadium, as we can see
@@mhdfrb9971 Yes both i would say, but if it comes to heavy metal, Bach takes the crown.
Me too
@@mhdfrb9971 you are absolutely right Vivaldi will give extremely well on this instrument

Thank you for introducing me to yet another excellent musician.
Délicieuse interprétation, dans un décor étonnant... Merci et bravo. Cordialement. Olivier F
What a wonderful way to listen to Bach early in the morning with my 1st cup of coffee. Thank you from America ❤
Magnifico.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch Christine, tolle Leistung, Bach in seiner reinsten Form. Vielen Dank.
Very beautifully played🎶🎶thank you
A BRILLIANT RECORDING!

The space is most likely a deluxe viewing suite for wealthy executives.
This was the first fuge I ever played. Probably the easiest one from both WTC books, yet still has teeth and is very beautiful.
Schornsheim really makes the harpsichord sing. I agree that the visuals are off, but what a revelatory performance of this piece!
Another amazing combination, Bach and football! I dont think Bach will ever be beaten, even if it comes to a match between these two. (Bach versus football)

This prelude is stunning!
Bravo 👏👏👏
Thank you for sharing 💕💜
Amazing performance! 😄
Wonderful performance, bravo!
Why would a musician choose to play in a football stadium? Because she knows the score.😉
😂 Good one!

Full marks for finding the most bizarre venue. Luckily you can just close your eyes.
So charming this play!
What an amazing performance!
Great performance!
Magnificent!❤❤❤
gradiosa ejecucion.....de musica celestial....
Amazing music!
oh yeah, the perfect setting for baroque music.
Exquisito
Next there are going to be football games in concert halls I guess...

Shouldn't have wasted this piece of music on a soccer stadium
I was thinking about this piece just yesterday! What a pleasant coincidence!
But I hate with all my heart the location you chose…
My 7th year exam
I really liked the performance and the cinematography, but i dont really like the advertisement of the team and the stadium. You are doing historic recording, dont fall into that trap.
I love the performance. I hate the venue. Why a soccer stadium??????
They're celebrating the 900th year of this city, so I'm assuming they're doing the performances in important places in Utrecht
What's wrong with a football stadium? This performance combines two of my favorite things: Bach and football! And those are two things that I never thought would ever be put together by anyone but me.
Beautiful piece, instrument and performance, but I confess that the visuals of the venue diminish the enjoyment of the video.
C'mon it's great! It's all about the contrast. I'm always talking about the contrasts and juxtapositions.
