No fighter is forced to take a purse? You agree terms after negotiations. What is wrong is not paying a fighter as soon as they have fought, ideally within 24 hours. Now I’m not sure if hearns ever been taken to court for not paying fighters, but there’s plenty of other promoters who have been.
@@OneBP This is not an argument against what I've written. David Allen saved his show and Hearn paid him peanuts. But Barry "Epstein's Friend" Hearn says his son pays fighters right. He also talked Allen out of a well-paid fight on a Warren show, promising him a big fight that never materialised.
Allen has a trainer, manager, and a lawyer. They would've discussed the terms and purse for the Ortiz fight and Allen agreed to it. Stop talking like Allen is some helpless victim. He could've said no to the Ortiz fight if he wanted to. Likewise assume he took advice before being talked out of the other fight.
