But I think this is an issue with all the theory channels, really difficult to understand and very sporradic and unstructured in their argumentation. Also they tend to just casually bring up real world references without explaining their significance or what they even are to begin with. Like the whole thing with the apocrypha of john? I had to go research early christianity to understand what tf that is and learned that it wasn't even the only version of the cosmology. I think lore theorists can do better...

However, Ashikai loves her 25 minute to 1 hour videos, especially her bigger ones, and she doesn't always reexplain what she has said, she usually references, corrects, and/or just bring up what was mentioned in a specified previous video and moves on. Roamer's reasonable limitations on video length does clash with how deep Ashikai gets with her theories and historical breakdowns.

Until this day, some people are still very bitter that a casual exploration game is being a casual exploration game and not a hardcore meta game. And every anniversary, the 2 complains have always been: no free 5-star, no endgame. I mean, I do like challenging games. Fighting pre-nerfed Childe was awesome (died 10,000 times getting oneshot'ed by Tortellini damnit lmao). But people need to come to terms with the fact that Genshin's focus is not on that. It is what it is. Move on. Play soulslike games if you want challenge, mates. I recommend Sekiro if you like fast pace combat, Cuphead for platformer, or Geometry Dash.

I kind of agree. Every game has some drama, and Genshin is no exception, but very little good ever comes from it. Just something to get in the way of enjoying the game. There's a lot of different perspectives on all the issues, but I really feel that the only thing that matters is whether or not I'm having a good time. I think everyone is entitled to their feelings on any given game, but if I'm having fun, I don't need people telling me that the community is upset over something. Someone, somewhere, is always upset. Just a lot of rarely productive negativity.
I agree. If they wanted to show a Mujin vid, they could have just sent one of his google map ones. The Genshin dramas are all made out to look cataclysmic, but in reality, they all blow over in a week or two and it’s as if nothing even happened.
The administration of Genshin is fine. I feel it's the community that's more toxic. As a company, I think Genshin does many things better than most. They pay more than other companies within their industry. They give their devs breaks. Their workers seem to have better work life benefits than most other gaming companies. They also do a lot of donations in the background even before Genshin was developed so they just continue to support their motto of "tech otakus save the world." They do a lot of things to support the arts as well. Even when there was this whole drama with VAs not getting paid, it wasn't Genshin but the VAs' own company and after Genshin found out about it, they immediately helped the VAs get their pay. Genshin dramas like attempting murder of the CEO, harassing VAs, going to other games to trash around, toxic shipping mentality, these are all the community and not the administration. I like watching Calvin's videos because it's the small wholesome side of the better part of the community. Most of the huge Genshin CCs are all just clickbaits and CCs trying to start wars between gaming fandoms. Even if Calvin ever makes it big, I hope he doesn't become like one of those CCs.
ashikai has one of thr best theories out there, this one might be outdated a bit but she has a lot of great thieries that still hold to this day and I like her recap series she has it's really useful
I love Genshin’s music so so much Each region has instruments used that are specific to each region with Inazuma using Japanese instruments and Sumeru using Middle eastern and Liyue using Chinese instruments. It’s amazing how much production and thought processes it takes to blend so many traditional instruments into a soundtrack for a game and make it all thematicly make sense, it’s perfect

mujin is not the best source of information for a lot of these genshin controversies. He often ommits critical information, especially for people who are not familiar with gacha gaming and they just happen to stumble on his video, and exaggerates things for content. He also is prone to spreading false info without verifying the source, like with the hoyoverse censorship. All in all, i would not recommend watching some of his newest videos for that reason

WuWa is gonna be brand new and it has the same vibes as Genshin but a lot griim and dark. You could give it a shot! Would love to watch your playthrough and unlike Genshin you'll probably be able to experience all the new limited events in the game.
So the producer of Honkai Star Rail and Honkai Impact 3rd, David Jiang, is a huge Trails fan. Last year, he got to tour Falcom and speak with with the team there. He has had Tio Plato as his avatar on a Chiense social media platform over over a decade. One of the major characters in Honkai has a pretty similar backstory to her too. There's a lot of influence there!
I was playing the game when the first aniversary drama had happened and it wasn't as simple as what is said in the video. 1. All gatcha game's first aniversaries are generally very big when they are succesful. They are expected to give big rewards to their playerbase for supporting their game. It is like a tradition at this point. Genshin being the biggest gatcha game of all time, the expectency was huge. 2. Players were frustrated with some features still hadn't been implemented in the game like QoL features and game having no endgame content. Some characters also had bugs in their kits which haven't been adressed since version 1.0. 3. Kokomi's relase was a huge letdown in the community. People were also complaining the recent released characters being way too underpowered. 4. They didn't listen to any feedback coming from the community and CCs. They just didn't care. They didn't respond to any of them. While all of this was happening, the Genshin made a post in their official website demanding playes to do some wierd tasks to get a CHANCE to win hurrendous rewards. People realised that there were no actual rewards for them supporting the game for a year but instead people had to advertise the game even more, donate drawings to Genshin or post cosplay pictures to have a CHANCE to win VERY small rewards. And the rewards were SO bad. Some of the rewards were a chance to win 40 primogems out of 1000 people or something. They pushed the community to their limits and this was the last straw that broke the camels back. Later, they actually fired the person behind this community stunt which I find to be hilarious.
I feel like the 3rd point only makes the protesters out to look silly considering they were dead wrong about Kokomi. It just shows how susceptible a certain subset of the community is to huge knee jerk reactions. Dehya on the other hand…

To explain things about Genshin anniversary: it wasn’t just rumors. Gacha games are expected to be very generous on their anniversaries - this is just how gachas are. That’s why, when reward turned up to be borderline nothing, people got mad. Hoyoverse had to damage control it by sending additional primogems and a free glider (that initially supposed to be a part of paid bundle).
For those dramas about fans attacking google etc, please remember that that doesn’t represent all of the community. I for one thinks it’s stupid and do not even like the idea or support that kind of behavior at all.

Don’t worry, I know Hollow Knight had some not very fun stuff happen near the end. I personally am not fussed in the slightest if you do or don’t defeat the final boss. As long as you enjoyed it there’s no issue. It took me years to defeat it and I still have stuff I need to do. I hope the experience was overall positive though even with the less than stellar stuff from people later on.
You can definitely try out WuWa, The characters and design is really awesome and is on par to Genshin. The most unique features it offers is its gameplay mechanics which arent some new thing in video games but definitely sets it apart from Genshin. I too will be playing WuWa on launch so would also love to see your perspective and thoughts on it.
As someone who was around during the first genshin anniversary, the uproar didn't really come from the Ayaka rumor but simply from having higher expectations for the rewards. The initial rewards were just 10 fates, and most people were expecting a lot more since in most gacha games anniversaries are a BIG deal. I honestly was disappointed in the rewards and didn't mind the Qiqi's sticker spam (even though I only heard of it on UA-cam). It was a funny way to "rebel", since everything people posted there that was related to the anniversary rewards was being censored. It was not fair to simply censor people's opinions in the server just because they were negative (given that they were still shared in a civil manner), so that caused even more anger towards the game, thus the Genshin review bombing on Google play. I never understood nor agreed with the people who put negative reviews on other hoyo games or other unrelated apps, and most people in the community also didn't agree at the time. It's just that the community was so big that even if it was a small minority doing it, they were still a lot of people. In the end we did receive ten more wishes and some wings, and these rewards actually stayed the same for the other two anniversaries. So I guess by "winning" these things the first time, the community actually won an additional ten wishes and a special object every future anniversary too. Even then, the whole thing still gave a lot of people outside the fandom a really bad impression of it, and I cant really blame them.
I was there during Genshin's first anniversary and the reason why I hated it was not because of the rewards but how Genshin constantly ignored a lot of reequested QOLs (lot of which are added now) , doing art promotion events where cosplayers and artists promote Genshin for measly rewards and an event where only 10% of the playerbase gets a chance to get a Welkin Moon (they still do this crap every year). It definitely sucked and still does in my opinion lol

Hi3 has a dark story Hsr has a dark story aswell, but not as bad as Hi3 for the obvoius reason that the story isnt fully out yet, but the same lead writer of Hi3 is working on it, i i'm gonna assume the story is going to be of the same caliber. Genshin on the other hand, noone really dies except some random npc or a person in a flashback, it barely covers dark themes, and if it does, it's not on a grand scale. It's all about meeting new friends or allies... Boring if you ask me

I was playing the game when the first aniversary drama had happened and it wasn't as simple as what is said in the video.
1. All gatcha game's first aniversaries are generally very big when they are succesful. They are expected to give big rewards to their playerbase for supporting their game. It is like a tradition at this point. Genshin being the biggest gatcha game of all time, the expectency was huge.
2. Players were frustrated with some features still hadn't been implemented in the game like QoL features and game having no endgame content. Some characters also had bugs in their kits which haven't been adressed since version 1.0.
3. Kokomi's relase was a huge letdown in the community. People were also complaining the recent released characters being way too underpowered.
4. They didn't listen to any feedback coming from the community and CCs. They just didn't care. They didn't respond to any of them.
While all of this was happening, the Genshin made a post in their official website demanding playes to do some wierd tasks to get a CHANCE to win hurrendous rewards. People realised that there were no actual rewards for them supporting the game for a year but instead people had to advertise the game even more, donate drawings to Genshin or post cosplay pictures to have a CHANCE to win VERY small rewards. And the rewards were SO bad. Some of the rewards were a chance to win 40 primogems out of 1000 people or something.
They pushed the community to their limits and this was the last straw that broke the camels back. Later, they actually fired the person behind this community stunt which I find to be hilarious.

I feel like the 3rd point only makes the protesters out to look silly considering they were dead wrong about Kokomi. It just shows how susceptible a certain subset of the community is to huge knee jerk reactions. Dehya on the other hand…

To explain things about Genshin anniversary:
it wasn’t just rumors. Gacha games are expected to be very generous on their anniversaries - this is just how gachas are. That’s why, when reward turned up to be borderline nothing, people got mad. Hoyoverse had to damage control it by sending additional primogems and a free glider (that initially supposed to be a part of paid bundle).
For those dramas about fans attacking google etc, please remember that that doesn’t represent all of the community. I for one thinks it’s stupid and do not even like the idea or support that kind of behavior at all.

Don’t worry, I know Hollow Knight had some not very fun stuff happen near the end. I personally am not fussed in the slightest if you do or don’t defeat the final boss. As long as you enjoyed it there’s no issue. It took me years to defeat it and I still have stuff I need to do.
I hope the experience was overall positive though even with the less than stellar stuff from people later on.
You can definitely try out WuWa, The characters and design is really awesome and is on par to Genshin. The most unique features it offers is its gameplay mechanics which arent some new thing in video games but definitely sets it apart from Genshin. I too will be playing WuWa on launch so would also love to see your perspective and thoughts on it.

As someone who was around during the first genshin anniversary, the uproar didn't really come from the Ayaka rumor but simply from having higher expectations for the rewards. The initial rewards were just 10 fates, and most people were expecting a lot more since in most gacha games anniversaries are a BIG deal.
I honestly was disappointed in the rewards and didn't mind the Qiqi's sticker spam (even though I only heard of it on UA-cam). It was a funny way to "rebel", since everything people posted there that was related to the anniversary rewards was being censored. It was not fair to simply censor people's opinions in the server just because they were negative (given that they were still shared in a civil manner), so that caused even more anger towards the game, thus the Genshin review bombing on Google play.
I never understood nor agreed with the people who put negative reviews on other hoyo games or other unrelated apps, and most people in the community also didn't agree at the time.
It's just that the community was so big that even if it was a small minority doing it, they were still a lot of people.
In the end we did receive ten more wishes and some wings, and these rewards actually stayed the same for the other two anniversaries.
So I guess by "winning" these things the first time, the community actually won an additional ten wishes and a special object every future anniversary too.
Even then, the whole thing still gave a lot of people outside the fandom a really bad impression of it, and I cant really blame them.

Genshin anniversary is always a dilemma
I was there during Genshin's first anniversary and the reason why I hated it was not because of the rewards but how Genshin constantly ignored a lot of reequested QOLs (lot of which are added now) , doing art promotion events where cosplayers and artists promote Genshin for measly rewards and an event where only 10% of the playerbase gets a chance to get a Welkin Moon (they still do this crap every year).
It definitely sucked and still does in my opinion lol
Yeah it's fine to be disappointed or even upset, but the way people were acting during the first anniversary for Genshin got pretty out of hand

The three main hoyoverse games are starrail, genshin and honkai impact 3rd.
Hi3 has a dark story
Hsr has a dark story aswell, but not as bad as Hi3 for the obvoius reason that the story isnt fully out yet, but the same lead writer of Hi3 is working on it, i i'm gonna assume the story is going to be of the same caliber.
Genshin on the other hand, noone really dies except some random npc or a person in a flashback, it barely covers dark themes, and if it does, it's not on a grand scale. It's all about meeting new friends or allies...
