Their ability to perform live never ceases to amaze me. Even in their early days they were so good. These days, I honestly can't think of a band that is better live than Placebo.

I lost a cousin , and 2 childhood friends. A week later, a 4 yr old went missing...and he has never been found. I live in a small town where that kind of thing you could count on one hand....and not a small child in my lifetime.. My son, who came to visit me before Christmas, missed his bus- last week the night of the 23rd- his sisters house where he lives- burned down. I've lost 17 friends this yr- none to Covid, quite a few overdoses unfortunately and a lot of natural causes or just accidents. I cannot wait for midnight- anything has to be better than this year. I hope you had a great year.... and if you didn't..im sorry. Life sucks. To take the time to show empathy is Tara and few and far between. So thank you. A little renewal for the human race. Classic Placebo! Still remember getting into these guys at school and an old mate recorded me a tape of their debut album and the b-sides from it. He even put stickers on the tape of the band and band name to make it look a little more official 😁 good ol days
I was there :) Discovered them live, at this show, and it was perhaps the best concert of this Eurockéennes session (with the biggest lineup there ever : Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Noir désir, No one is innocent, FFF, Nada Surf, Silverchair, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion) Thanks Placebo for the upload !!
This GORGEOUS little goth girl took me home from a bar in 2001 in New Orleans. She put on Black Market Music and blew my mind. I had never heard them before. Amazing girl and an amazing night and I have her to thank! She also turned me on to Mogwai the next AM and I love both of those bands to this day.

Man, that first song just... "Without You..." is a brilliant song, not really complex, but those weird chords work really well for a trio, the guitar fills up the space wonderfully, without sounding messy. The lyrics of the song are also perfect for a person in later teens. They worked for me, anyway.
The beauty of Placebo is that they got better and better with each album. And they are one of the best live bands now. I always enjoy seeing the very youthful Molko singing Lady of the Flowers. "Sonic Youth" influences are seen everywhere here.

when Placebo sang their iconic Without You I'm Nothing in 1997, I was 5 years old. However, I heard this song for the very first time only 13 years later, when I was 18 already. Now I am 28, but I still love this song very much, and I will definitely love it till my last days

THis kind of demo of Without You I'm Nothing is really interesting! Played fast it sounds really good too, and you can see Brian really into this song, so emotionnal. And this song sounds far better with the Jag instead of Gibson SG. AWESOME PERFORMANCE! I was in Uk when the album was out, there was plenty of posters in London with the cover of WYIN :) so happy to have lived this period (and before with the first album too). One of my favorite band, forever in my heart. COllege years ...

Evil Dildo is a very underrated Placebo song. No other song they do sounds anything like it, and it's just such a terrific finale to a terrific album that already had a terrific closer.

Evil Dildo is a very underrated Placebo song. No other song they do sounds anything like it, and it's just such a terrific finale to a terrific album that already had a terrific closer.
