- Students athletes on the Venice High School baseball team are currently unable to use the new million dollar field, recently renovated by the Los Angeles Unified School District, because of safety concerns communicated by a neighbor.
They rather see them with guns.
no they rather see them in gangs and graffiting there street walls.
They rather not have their shit destroyed or killed by a ball. Fuck their baseball.
Turn the field 180 degrees so balls land on the school buildings.
Hell yea.
Yes I 👍 bad planning that's all .
Wouldnt be a bad idea
I just moved next to a Fire Station. OMG nonstop firetrucks blasting their sirens. But i expected that when i bought the place.
In Florida?
Youre a better man than me. When I was looking for a home the most important thing was the community/neighbors. Everything else I can change. Also I didnt wana live next to a industrial place, firfighters, hospital, or a school. I live deep in the neighborhood in a coldesac I have one neighbor to my left and thats it. I would go crazy if I were you.
Ha,. I live 1 mile from DFW airport.
You moved next to the firehouse, the firehouse didn't move closer to you.
I agree with you, I live next to Magic Mountain, I hear screams and rides all night long (personally I could give a crap, grew up in downtown Hollywood, so...). But in this case, it wasn't a case of people buying homes next to a baseball field. This was the case of a brand new baseball field being put in, next to homes where people have lived there, some of them most of their lives.
I sleep very easily but not everyone is that lucky, I can imagine some who have to be in bed by 9 am to get up for a very early job, it might be a nightmare for them.
Karen strikes again
“You’re killin’ me smalls!”
Well here in St Petersburg, FL. A condo complex was built across the street from the main fire station by Tropicana field. Residents complained about the siren noise and now the fire trucks are not allowed to turn them on when answering a call. I'm still hoping that building catches fire.
this is common between hisborough & pinellas where a residence is near a firehouse. we have very busy firemen, very courteous, the siren has low value till approaching traffic.
@@-Nick-T lmfao why is a news report on a ballfield in LOS ANGELES being recommended to all of us in St Pete lmao
didn't these owners buy there house knowing there was a baseball field next door? how entitled are these people.
Apparently the houses were already there because they say this is a new field. Whoever planned the field did not take into consideration the existing houses. I can't blame the home owners from complaining. The school needs to relocate the field.
@@jerrypoole5051 no the field was there way before those new houses but they updated it but if anyone knows baseballs gonna go over fences no matter what even if this update makes it happen more
@@v.a.entertainment1889 they moved the field closer to the houses.
Hey those kids know how to hit a ball can’t be mad at that 👌🏽
Those houses are going to get vandalized with this being on the news now. Good for them lol
Wait to give them $1200 to leave during games. I would take that.
A TALL ASS NET WORKS
Right easy fix# letthekidplay
They should try these balls. They wont go over the fence.
Epic
They'll go around it!🤯✌
So miserable,let them play.
This is petty, shame on those Neighbors. When they bought the home next to a baseball field they should of known what they were going to expect.
Set the houses on fire
I hope the people that complain about the field have pillows that are warm on both sides. And homeless people sleeping in their alleys.
Youch! Good one!
Stealing these kids childhoods. Can’t even play baseball. The American game. What narcissist is complaining try to control and get fuel from ruining these kids fun.
What a waste of money
Blame the project managers of the renovation
Ya juat kick the people out of the houses backed up to the field problem solved
No study on this done before they spent a million dollars? This isn't a case of people buying homes next to an existing thing. This field was just made.
Over balls??? ⚾??? Let the kids play ......... This is crazy ....... 😳 Hope you kids get to play.......
Big deal
typical waste of tax dollars
People in Venice have nothing else to do but complain.
Million dollar? Why do people complain and mobilize and "cancel stuff"?
“Remember that balls have always gone over the fence…”. Truer words have never been spoken😆
Maybe put a net so that it won't go over. Omfg a solution! How?! What?! Why?
I know, right??
That would be too easy and simple.
Like these guys have never been to batting cages, or behind home plate at dodgers Stadium a net or a fence.
Karen !!!
Build a bigger fence.
THATS a million dollar ball field?
Turn the field around so the balls land on the school side by the track and put up higher nets.
So out nets up case closed
Wahhh.should have planted a community garden for the homeless to occupy instead of wasted sports fields for the slow children to burn off steam
Wow can’t even play baseball anymore. Mite as well join gangs🤣🤤
Hell, I've seen grownups at stadiums practically kill one another to get a baseball!
Oooh, the issues in America that makes the news...🤦♂️
With grenades flying everywhere in the world and here you are complaining about baseballs and kids having fun ........wow y'all need to find Jesus
Bunch of karens living in LA now a days
Flip the field around lmao
the field has been there for years and im sure baseballs have gone over fences before. let them play!!!
You're a NIMBY. Of course you think that way until someone gets hurt. It's a safety issue
@@conceptcs thanks for teaching me a new word!
In agreement (I went to Venice in the late 60's), but to be fair, the video indicated that home plate was moved CLOSER to the houses (but didn't say by how much...). Maybe a poor decision by the contractor.
I’m guessing it’s the neighbors that have 3 cars at home during the day while everyone else is out working. You know those kind.
Now suddenly its a problem?
Lol " The athletes are crying foul " 🤣
$1200 to leave home...I'd take that lol
They complain about baseball ⚾️ let them put tent 🏕 instead haha 😂
Let me guess, neighbors name is Karen right?
Have the school place a net over the batting area and raise the nets higher on the sides of the field.
The neighbor knew the field was there when they moved in. Simple case, baseball field was there first. Neighbor should just deal with it.
Same as buying a new construction home next to farmland they have to disclose farm animals smell and you can’t sue them for it. Like no sh@t Sherlock
Johney Harper, read the story again. It says this is a new field. The houses were probably already there.
They moved the field closer to the houses.
Why don't they just do like they did in the old days and they net the property. Therefore it hits the net and drops. Problem solved
Is that diamond just facing he wrong way?
Rich people problems....
Okay make it quick people make up your minds would you prefer a homeless encampment or a baseball field now think about it quickly cuz LAUSD don't got the time for Patty complaints it's either a homeless encampment or a baseball field you guys decide
Tents? you mean nets. Kids can even have Physical Education in LAUSD DTLA, As of May 10, 2021, today that has not changed, that's a fact jack, only if you are part of a "team sport" like football - can you get outside and play - LAUSD yaaaahhhh!!! LOL!!!! Can't even design a field the right way? Oh ya you can go back to school and sit in a classroom with a mask on but you can't go outside and play, that's rich! Restaurants have it but then again it's always about the $$$$$$!
Cry babies......boohoo.....
_BAAL WORSHIPPERS UNITE_
1 million for that field....shittt!!!! I know Arnold and Gerald could make a better field for at least 2k.
Install a Fenway Park Green Monster! Problem solved.
1200 bucks!!! How do I move there???
Just flip the diamond so theyre hitting balls toward the school or just get a bunch of family and friends together and come to an agreement with the neighbors that they sit in ther back yards ready to catch the balls that come in, they only have like 12 games left. After that figuire it out.
I've got a solution.. MOVE! sports helps keep kids off the streets..
While the neighbors have their right to safety, their decision to live next to a field should mean they understood the risk.
They'll likely refer to places like Burbank Airport where the frequency and sound of planes wasn't significant until changes to flights and paths were made.
I believe the airport kept it's flight pattern, but had to adjust it's time of use...or something
They said "new" field.
They moved the field closer to the houses.
they bought the damn home next to field and then complain. BS. it's no worse than buying a home next to golf course and then complaining when the golf ball goes astray. again, BS.
They moved the field AFTER the people bought the houses.
@@patrickturner2417 doesn't matter. you're in proximity to the field no matter what... doesnt matter if you move it 2 inches or 10 feet. they went through city and board approval, the neighbors had their chance to object. the architects and city planners are so restricted that if they do not get neighborhood input and approval, there is nothing that can be done. it only takes one complaint to stop it. they neighbors had their chance and blew it.
@@davidtoda1751 do you even know what "proximity" means?
Tell me something, if you have a house 275' from home plate, and another house 300' from home plate, which house is more likely to get hit with a ball?
If the neighbors said OK to the project and then found out that a 20' fence didn't provide adequate protection and want the fence raised, what's the big deal?
This is the news trying to create a story when there isn't one.
@@patrickturner2417 exactly. you said it. I'm just saying I see this happen all the time, hear about people complaining when they buy a house next to something, like a factory, or a ball park, where the kids play 10 games a year, and then tell the factory they cant do what they're doing, being a factory, because the home owner is impacted by the activity of the factory, when they knew what they were buying in the first place. if they need to raise the fence, so be it. but I'm tired of homeowners complaining when they know what they're getting into, regardless of changes, improvements and so forth.
@@davidtoda1751 we dont know the layout of the fields before the redesign. The baseball field could have been where the softball field is now. ( opposite corners ) If thats how it was, there would be very little concern for baseballs flying around your yard or house.
Let's say you have a house along the first base line. And that base line is 60' from your property line. There shouldn't be a big worry about foul balls.
After they redo the layout, that first base line is now 20' from your property line.
That increases the likelihood of foul balls flying around your yard.
One thing the reporter didn't say ( and its pretty damned important ) is how much closer to the houses was the field was moved.
Its not even a story. Just raise the fences and everyone go about your daily routine.
There are more pressing issues to worry about.
The baseball field was there before they brought the house. They should know that having balls land on their property was a risk of ownership. This is like people who move next to a farm and complain of the smell.
Or next to train tracks and complain about the noise.
Million???
Shouldn't they be complaining about the homeless overrunning everything in Venice instead? I'd be much more upset about my community being taken over than about a few baseballs.
Until one of those baseballs hits somebody in the head while they’re in the backyard
Venice ahhhh the fall from grace
Home games will be played with wiffle balls problem solved 👍
Don't you know in commiforna your only allowed to sit at home if you still have one demonkkkrats socialist dictators hate you that's why they took your constitutional rights away.
Baseball is boring anyways
That’s what White people do🇺🇸, i play baseball and play next to a park where homes are next door, no one ever complains.... yet again they’re all 🇲🇽😊
Crying foul lol
If you had a child playing in your backyard and baseballs were landing there wouldn't you be worried one might strike your kids head?
lol of course lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😄😄😄 omfg hilarious
I heard that Kalifornistan wants to drop higher level math classes because they are predominantly attended by Caucasians and Asians.
Shouldn't they also drop sports programs if certain races dominate them?
Future excavations will find the remains of wild Karen’s that’s originated in SoCal with pouty faces, and multiple letters to managers and city council members by there side.
