Nice to see you and your better half in Mansfield today Zeb! I recon we need some 'Pesky Possum' special merch as that fella is starting to become famous.
🤣 that's actually a really cool idea 👍 yeah mate always a pleasure to catch up with Patrons and past clients especially when they come bearing awesome home made honey 🍯 👌
Hey Zeb, another great video mate. I have that exact rifle as well, it was grouping similar to yours, but sometimes the action would move in the stock, and it’s zero would shift. I glass bedded it, and it really came alive, 0.5-0.75” 3 shot groups and no more zero shifts. I mounted the scope lower on mine, and I also hear that Talley are doing their Lightweight mounts for them too. I put an EBay trigger spring in it too and made the trigger much nicer.
Hey Wayne, thanks for your feedback mate. I was thinking a good bedding job would improve this rifle. Almost every factory rifle does. I'm pretty happy with the trigger atm but will probably do a trigger spring eventually.
Love your wok zeb fantastic to see your journey from the beginning making a few vids of what we are passionate about and turning it into looking like a successful guiding business great stuff mate hard work pays howa rifles go alright I run 2 no issues great accuracy
Always entertaining and informative mate. Amongst my deer calibre rifles I have a miroku lever action in 308 topped with a Leica 2_10x50 scope. I have taken a lot of deer with it stalking and hound hunting. It is a great calibre even though the rounds are dwarfed by the bigger calibre s.
Hey Glenn 👋 it's all about shot placement as you would know. A hunter that has 100% confidence in their rifle will shoot more accurately and therefore the calibre is mute. At normal hunting ranges. Step out past 350yds and then we have way better calibre choices. 99% of my stags have been shot under 150yds
Hiking training- apart from cardio, farmers carry, which is carrying something heavy in each hand. Brutal-works the core /butt/legs and shoulders. I should try it one day.
Great video mate cant wait to watch the hunting trips you have this year i have a Howa 1500 in 243W and its a absolute cream puff Howa make really great actions and are very accurate ive found keep up the fantastic work
I cant wait to see your long term reviews on it, I'm tossing up between a superlite and the carbon stalker which is one of there standard sporter actions in a stockys carbon fibre stock the same as the superlite except obviously to fit there standard action and weighing in at 2.8kg. I have seen them for $1049. Yep very technique sensitive and i reckon the kimbers get a bad rap for that. i have a classic select grade kimber 7mm-08, its an honest consistent 1.5MOA gun with me shooting it, if i do everything right it can do half inch but 1.5MOA is more realisitic. Kimber have a PDF article on shooting lightweight rifles thats worth a read too. I'm thinking the carbon stalker just to minimise recoil and be less technique sensitive...
This superlite is 2.5kgs with scope so quite a lot lighter than the Carbon stalker at 2.8 bare. I wanted the lightest package possible and I'll learn to shoot it accurately.
@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures l had mine (in 300wsm wood stock) for nearly 20yrs and shot more big stags with it than any of my other rifles. Yes, it was short but very accurate and easily carried around the steep stuff.
@colinperso5825 yeah I shot a few good ones with it but never felt comfortable with it, mine was a synthetic stock stainless. The rifle itself was 1moa but just couldn't bond with it.
Thanks for the vid mate, really enjoyed the talk about the new Howa! What are your thoughts about the Tatonka? I’m tossing up between one of those and an Exo K4 5000.
Cheers Gavin, thanks. I haven't spent enough time with it to be honest. It seems well made and is quite adjustable for fit. I wouldn't recommend the Lastenkraxe pack for anything other that hauling big loads. It was to high for my liking to hunt with. Carry a load like a dump truck though, which is what i see it's use for. Tatonka make other packs which I have done reviews on Patreon as well as an Exo, Moroka30 and Stone Glacier
Those little Superlites have had my interest from the time I read the specified weight. If I didn't have some similar rifles I'd be up for one. Interested to hear your thoughts on the trigger long term but 2lb's certainly is pretty good. Can you load the mag through the action or do you have to drop it out? I'd definitely be up for that exact rifle in a .223👌. Take care mate. Talk soon.
@@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures Floor plate staggered top feed magazine in a .223 I’d be in 👍. We both know you can spend that sort of money just on a carbon stock. So to get a barreled action thrown in is certainly a bargain. If you can get your hands on some Alliant Power Pro 2000 powder you will light up that little girl with some 150gr projies. Best powder I’ve found in short barreled .308’s👌👌
@BoltActionProductions good to know, I'll have to have a look around for some. I'd love it to have a floor plate as well. Always worries me having a detachable mag
@@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures I feel exactly the same about the Mag system. Tend to find myself checking it all the time. In saying that I’ve never lost a Mag🤔

@rossevans1774 the volume change is with this video? I did edit the volume in the scenes that had a fair amount of wind. It seems you've had this issue with all my videos? I'll have to check at home on my TV but I did watch this particular episode on my phone with no sound issues. I'm really keen to sort this out especially if it's not an isolated issue. I know in my early videos I didn't edit the volume from scene to scene until a viewer pointed out that I needed to adjust it when whispering or when near a river. Feedback helps me get better so please give me critical feedback whenever you see an issue with my videos.
@mattluszczak8095 I just watched it on my phone with no issue at 3/4 volume. I've watched it at home on my TV also a few times with no issue. I don't know why the volume has been an issue for a few others. I can only try to even out the volume in future vids. I do edit the volume when near the river quite a bit, but no one wants to listen to a roaring river
G’day Zeb, great to hear your got a bit on this year mate, good luck with it all.

Awesome 1st Ep of the year and lovely rifle .

Good to see you back in the bush mate.
Old Pesky would have been starving over summer without your food stash to raid.
Bring on the hunting.
He was looking a bit trim compared to late last season 🤣 should be a great year. Plenty of interstate clients and even an international

Still loves throwing that flyer doesn’t it.
Yeah with the factory ammo it consistently had 2 and 1. With reloads I managed to get nice triangle groups regularly

What made you hate your previous 300wsm Browning ABolt?
To short lop, short forend and big recoil. It just didn't fit me and therefore I never shot it well

whats with the one piece rail? is it the only way you could mount scope?
It's a picatinny rail that comes with the rifle.
