leon is my favourite character and i love the covering up his love of baseball with his love for music that’s honestly so sick. it’s so sad to me how because of how little we know about him, it’s easier for everyone to trust him less, and all the blame is shifted onto him when he was backed into a corner with sayaka’s actions, and her influence and trust she has on the other characters like makoto would lead them to trust her word instead of his if he had just walked away instead. but you’ve made him look so awesome and i dig it so much it gives him the same vibe as i’ve envisioned him with you’re awesome man

Here more insight on Leon becase there isnt much known about him.✨ From what i understand of Leon he doesn't really likes his talent but he dose like baseball just not his talent for it, hes see baseball more a fun side hobby but because he the ultimate baseball player everyone wants and expects him to be a baseball player witch is killing the sport for him witch isnt what he wants.
I absolutely loved the redesigns for both characters! 3:45 If Danganronpa had more darker tones- probably no fan service stuff, because seriously- it kind of makes some of the themes Danganronpa has clash? I don’t know another way to put it. If somebody decides to rewrite the first game, I would love to see it with a more serious story and darker themes :D

I know the series has those- questionable fan service scenes- but if I could rewrite it- I would probably go more into its darker themes with lighthearted moments that would collapse when the killing happens. That way when things try to feel good again you get this over-looming dread, wondering when it’s going to crumble. Because you saw the first time how quickly everything fell apart and as every chapter goes on that feeling gets worse. So when you FINALLY see the mastermind you finally let that despair sink in. That someone willingly did this to you, your fellow classmates, even their own family. Just for the fun of it, the pleasure of despair. I guess if DR was written today, I can see it taking a similar route that Omori did. Bright, whimsy and colorful but also dark and intense!

If it'll help! Junko is a gyaru but she's a certain type of gyaru, which is a Kogyaru, which are Gyarus that wear school uniform inspired outfits. Which makes sense since she's a highschooler, Kogyarus typically wear less makeup and have little accessories but their hair is always quite bountiful and very wavy but there are some that do have the typical gyaru aesthetic just in a school uniform
I personally think that Leon breaking unto the bathroom puts him in a grey area, because yes, he was attacked, but CHOSE to enter the bathroom while he could've leaved, Celeste even said that. Anygays great redesigns I love them!
A suggestion to make Sayaka's outfit more "music based" is giving her a microphone patch on her cardigan! It would also tie her to Leon in a subtle way, like his baseball patch on his pants. Hope that was helpful!❤
I love these redesigns. One little irksome thing about the DR series is how the girls have very cut and paste designs. A lot of them are some variant of skirted uniform. The only one of those that I like is Sakura, but she has so much going for her physically. If I remember correctly, there’s only one who wears pants in the whole series. I like the use of accessories to really oomph up Sayaka’s design. On the Leon side of things, I like that there are more references to baseball in his design. I especially like the use of the shirt under the jacket. Coincidentally, the murder you described aligns with how it was presented in the manga. We get to see a few panels of Leon’s POV before his execution. They show that after Sayaka fled into the bathroom when Leon unexpectedly defended himself, he got his tools to break into the bathroom to figure out what was wrong and to help Sayaka calm down. She used that as a second opportunity to attack, leading to a scuffle that accidentally resulted in her stabbing. After that, he just took advantage of the situation to satisfy the “kill to escape” clause. In for a penny, in for a pound at that point.
Sayaka looks so cute! 😍 Best girl slayed! I do wish her hair was longer though. Some things I would've added a Microphone that is attached to her head (idk how that type is called) and music themed accessories and patterns like Kaede's hairclips and skirt.😊 idk if it was a coincidence but Sayaka has a high ponytail and Leon a low one
oh my GOD THIS ARTSTYLE!! i love the changes to the characters deaths and leons character it would add so much more interest to him as a character for the brief time he was shown since i was too frustrated with the characters not realising it wasn't numbers to focus much on him. looking forward to future uploads !!
My thing with Leon and Sayaka is i like the manga side of how when Leon went back to Sayaka it was because he was trying to help her after he broke her wrist. Unforturnatly Sayaka thought he came back for revenge so was in a panicked state where Leon was trying to wristle the knife from her hand sense this happened in the bathroom where no cameras were there where it doesn't fully state if Leon accidentally stab Sayaka in trying to get the knife out of her hand. Or if Sayaka did sense the Mastermind and the players don't know the true outcome. I know the manga isn't canon but it gives Sayaka more to her character and Leon some more to his for their short while.

I do miss Sayaka's long hair, but the ponytail and ribbons match her vibe and kinda make up for it! And for not being well-versed in either baseball or the punk scene at all, I think you did a great job with Leon's look! The ponytail is such a great look on him ❤
Honestly I think Leon is such an underrated character and gets hate on too much. I'm probably biased since I'm writing a short fanfic about him currently but I feel like so many people dislike him when he was literally just defending himself! Also I really like your redesigns! Personally I would have made Sayaka's hair a bit longer but that's me :3

I love danganronpa, it's been a keen part of my childhood and I adore it deeply... Buttt... It has a lot of fan service and tends to abuse its characters in unnecessary ways. I really don't like watching the second game since it had.. That. Anyways, I love the way some characters are portrayed, I find the conflict of kokichi and how he in turn helped the others by being cruel was cool. I haven't watched the first game, and I haven't watched the animes. I love deeply how you changed the designs to Leon. I just love your redemption of the characters! I think you did a wonderful job and I wouldnt change it. Thank you!! :)

I know you said you won't be going over spin offs but if you ever get around to redesigning Mukuro I'd recommend reading Danganronpa If (that is if you haven't already) it's why Mukuro is one of my favorite characters in the series.

wow!!! beautiful job :) i love both of these characters (mainly sayaka) and it was refreshing to see how you breathed new life into their designs. ive always thought sayaka's sailor uniform was cute, but she didn't really FEEL like a danganronpa character or a schoolgirl idol-- just a schoolgirl. i really like the colors you chose on her piece, theyre really soft and convey a nice sense of the persona she puts on. im curious to see what she would look like when that mask slips, though.. im someone who only really appreciates leon as he's contrasted to sayaka, but your design for him is INCREDIBLE. he really feels like his own character now, and i like how subtle the hints about his talent are. its as if he's purposefully trying to make his "punk" side overpower it. one suggestion i have is to add a secondary color to make the red pop out more-- maybe adding some blue to the shirt, shoes, and belt? and i also like the character and plot concepts you suggested, they make the case just that bit stronger. i'm curious to see how mondo and leon would get along in this version, considering mondo also has that thing about "not hitting girls" overall, great work and you earned a sub :) i can't wait to keep up with your content!!

im a fan of your sayaka redesign haha!! its so pretty, color palette goes together wonderfully and your linework as well as your coloring is gorgeous + im glad you looked more into her talent and what would an "actual" j-pop idol wear. i usually limit myself to "when" my fangans happen, so def if you ever redesign her again try a before:2012 or so in google searches loll. always fun to pop a bit of 2010s loserness into the idol LOL. just saying... those mfing dinosaur bracelets in all those colors on sayaka... just think abt it... i will say, i agree abt sayakas canon outfit - esp considering how it feels out of place even among the cast of characters wearing school uniforms... sayakas design as a whole feels like a "leftover" of dgrs original concept as distrust imo, esp taking into account her design changed very little in comparison to other characters. your leon design is wonderful as well!! it shows moreso that he had some sort of care for his talent, despite his canonical disregard for it, which is so fun to take note of that he must've held care at some point. sentimental value or something is what the vibe here gives. punk baseball freak /aff. excited to see your junko redesign!! thank god someone finally acknowledged that she's the shsl *gyaru* not fashionista, fashion girl etc... rlly enjoyed this video!! i hope to see even more!!! :D

I'm sorry to say this but I hate the first death in the first game In short, in addition to the fact that they gave the protagonist all the clues to help him find the culprit, but he couldn't figure it out with his brain, and the fact that Leon could easily leave after defending himself from Sayaka and telling everything to others annoys me

im a fan of your sayaka redesign haha!! its so pretty, color palette goes together wonderfully and your linework as well as your coloring is gorgeous + im glad you looked more into her talent and what would an "actual" j-pop idol wear. i usually limit myself to "when" my fangans happen, so def if you ever redesign her again try a before:2012 or so in google searches loll. always fun to pop a bit of 2010s loserness into the idol LOL. just saying... those mfing dinosaur bracelets in all those colors on sayaka... just think abt it...
i will say, i agree abt sayakas canon outfit - esp considering how it feels out of place even among the cast of characters wearing school uniforms... sayakas design as a whole feels like a "leftover" of dgrs original concept as distrust imo, esp taking into account her design changed very little in comparison to other characters.
your leon design is wonderful as well!! it shows moreso that he had some sort of care for his talent, despite his canonical disregard for it, which is so fun to take note of that he must've held care at some point. sentimental value or something is what the vibe here gives. punk baseball freak /aff.

In short, in addition to the fact that they gave the protagonist all the clues to help him find the culprit, but he couldn't figure it out with his brain, and the fact that Leon could easily leave after defending himself from Sayaka and telling everything to others annoys me
