1961 Alaskan Camper Restoration

- Starting with a rotting relic of its glory days, this 1961 Alaskan Camper had been abandoned for a couple of decades. So we brought this non-cab classic camper back from the dead by completely going through everything in it for this Reparadise restoration. All the salvageable wood is refinished and all the rot is now new wood. It's hydraulics are refreshed and all the seals are new. All new or rebuilt electrical and plumbing systems. Restored cabinets and resurfaced table and countertops bring this trailer back to its showroom look. We also did a few modern upgrades in lighting, insulation, and wire grade, but overall kept the original styling everywhere. And of course, we gave it an all-new skin. This beauty is ready for another 20 years back in the wild of Alaska.
Check it out and let us know your thoughts. And if you've got a great old camper that needs an overhaul then maybe we can talk about getting it in our shop to work some magic on it.

Stunning transformation. Absolutely stunning.
Wish they still made this exact model. Love the simple layout. Don't like bed above cab.

Amazing!! I have an Alaskan I want to start rebuilding this fall. Not in as bad of shape as this one was but still lots of wood needing fixed. I'm really interested in the epoxy and finish you applied to the inside of this camper? It looks so good.
Hi Dusty, we use a couple different finishes in the shop. Sometimes we spray polyurethane, and sometimes we use rub on products like generals finish or osmo wax oil.
Love those old Alaskan truck slide in campers. Great restoration! May I ask the price tag for the restoration job?
Hi Mysterio, materials can run $15-20K, labor $20-30K
Will using the flexible hose cause plugging up issues over time in the wave catalytic?
There won't be any issue with LP clogging up, it's a gas flowing through the line.
Where are you guys located? I know every alaskan is different, but can you give me a ball park estimate on restoring a 1981 Alaskan Camper 8 foot cabover. Thank you John PS do you have a website?
@John Barton in the drop down description for this video you'll find the information regarding their location and website. They are located in Salt Lake City, Utah and their website is reparadise.co.
Hey, how much does this unit weight?
they're 1900-2000k lbs
What size truck
Alaskan Campers work on short and long bed trucks - but bigger is better in this case
