Alex actually said he wanted to do "another 505" (perhaps not those words, can't remember exactly what he said) with this song. he said he wanted another song that only uses two chords but builds and builds until it unleashes/peaks, like 505, and another song called All My Friends by LCD Sound System, which he referenced as inspiration for both 505 and That's Where You're Wrong. so Captain Jugular is accurate, BUT i can see how you guys think it's similar to A Certain Romance. funnily enough, both A Certain Romance and this song give me intense feels lmao
Jeremiah McGhee how so? this does not sound like certain romance or have have similar guitar patterns. the only other song that reminds me of certain romance is if you were there beware.
I love everything the Arctic’s have ever done but Humbug and SIAS to me demonstrate the genius of Turner as a song writer…. They’re not catchy tunes necessarily but if you listen to them they are deeper and more emotional, mature and complex. Bowie Hunky Dory-esque. Or Leonard Cohen maybe. The jewellers hands is my favourite.
absolutely brilliant song, reminds me of a certain romance too, both work as impeccable close for albums, as alls arctic monkeys albums' closing songs. just epic. they're epic. i'm in love.
Love this song. One of my favourites. Has a very retro 80's sound, like Echo And The Bunnymen with a bit of Joy Division/early New Order thrown in. Great stuff.
Definitely Stone Roses influences, the arrangement has a whiff of 'This Is The One' about it. It doesn't just sound like a copy though. Really excellent track.
A pussyfooting setting sun Make a wish that weighs a ton There are no handles for you to hold And no understanding where it goes Jealously in Technicolor Fear by name, love by numbers Street lamp amber, wanderlust Hide her in a blunderbus She looks as if she's blowing at kiss at me And suddenly the sky is a scissor Sitting on the floor with a tambourine Crushing up a bundle of love Don't take it so personally You're not the only one That time has got it in for honey That's where you're wrong All the old flames fastened on Make a wish that weighs a ton There are no handles that you can hold And no understanding where it goes She looks as if she's blowing a kiss at me And suddenly the sky is a scissor Sitting on the floor with a tambourine Crushing up a bundle of love Don't take it so personally You're not the only one, That time has got it in for honey That's where you're wrong That's where you're wrong That's where you're wrong
Agreed, it's such a unique turn and just so obsessive! They still keep the rocking bass line with Alex's lyrical prowess and voice! Drums are still up there along with fantastic leads and rhythm!
Absolute class, good to see REAL music and musicians still out there, none of this computer bullshit. Next big ENGLISH band are THE BLUE COLLARS, if you havnt already heard them make sure you listen, you will LOVE them, peace.
I don't know, some of their songs are a little boring. So I can see why some people wouldn't like them. And there's nothing wrong with that. Can you imagine what a shitty world we'd live in, if we all liked the same music?
They tried to recreate a certain romance kind of vibe with this song and it really worked. I never understood why it didn't get much recognition
really? i never noticed that
Captain Jugular 505 feels depressing. This song creates a very happy vibe to me, much like a certain romance.
I totally agree, first time I heard this song I immediately thought of A Certain Romance

WHY DOES THIS SONG GIVE ME SUCH A SENSE OF NOSTALGIA I DONT UNDERSTANDDDDDD
Humbug and Suck It and See eras of this band are my fav, they also happen to be the most underrated eras
Best eras they got really creative with sound, atmosphere, composition and lyrics, someone defo slipped them some psychs
Or Leonard Cohen maybe. absolutely brilliant song, reminds me of a certain romance too, both work as impeccable close for albums, as alls arctic monkeys albums' closing songs. just epic. they're epic. i'm in love.
Its more of a mixed feeling between 505 and A Certain Romance for me
@@jens2049 funny because Alex intended this song as another 505
I prefer jewellers hands
Love this song. One of my favourites. Has a very retro 80's sound, like Echo And The Bunnymen with a bit of Joy Division/early New Order thrown in. Great stuff.
Was thinking definitely Echo and the Bunnymen too... maybe even Stone Roses ??
Thankyou. Youre so right.
@@argiespurs stone roses deffo. But elements of johnny marr, peter hook etc etc i think its alex homage to that era. Superb track.
Definitely Stone Roses influences, the arrangement has a whiff of 'This Is The One' about it. It doesn't just sound like a copy though. Really excellent track.

A pussyfooting setting sun
Make a wish that weighs a ton
There are no handles for you to hold
And no understanding where it goes
Jealously in Technicolor
Fear by name, love by numbers
Street lamp amber, wanderlust
Hide her in a blunderbus
She looks as if she's blowing at kiss at me
And suddenly the sky is a scissor
Sitting on the floor with a tambourine
Crushing up a bundle of love
Don't take it so personally
You're not the only one
That time has got it in for honey
That's where you're wrong
All the old flames fastened on
Make a wish that weighs a ton
There are no handles that you can hold
And no understanding where it goes
She looks as if she's blowing a kiss at me
And suddenly the sky is a scissor
Sitting on the floor with a tambourine
Crushing up a bundle of love
Don't take it so personally
You're not the only one,
That time has got it in for honey
That's where you're wrong
That's where you're wrong
That's where you're wrong

E & A
Good way to end the album Suck it and See
Bring on the Dancing Horses - Echo and The Bunnymen
This has a sound like The Stone Roses
Echo the Bunny men
I’m seeing that as well with this performance
