I personally think that what this man is trying to demonstrate here is that, we have to start somewhere if we so desire to be self-reliant. Most ideas are laughed at at the beginning. I greatly admire this man's tenacity and vision. Now, while his contraption may not have been seen by many actually flying, I believe the man has demonstrated, at the least, a keen interest and knowledgeable ability though he has not had formal training in aircraft engineering. This should count for something. Those that have had the training are busy putting this daring man down instead of supporting him to refine and perpetuate his idea. This is a great man indeed. As Zimbabweans, we pride ourselves in education but we may not be able to say the same in the application of this knowledge...at least in our own country. I think such ideas as Mr Chingoma's should be respected and developed. We should learn to develop ideas and make technologies accessible and affordable for our communities. I would, however, like to see the helicopter fly under controlled conditions to gauge how far this man had gone and determine the substance of his claims. For many years his man has been treated unjustly. I remember people laughing at him way back when I was still at school when his helicopter came out on TV yet the man wanted to do a noble dream. He heart is pure he did not steak from anyone nor did he commit any crime but instead of being celebrated he was ridiculed and mocked. I even blame the journalist in Zimbabwe,why didn't they make this to be known in the world they could have invited other aircraft experts from American or Europe , today this guy could have been having an aircraft company established in Zimbabwe today
He is a good inventer who should have been sent to aircraft school by the government but sadly they are just more into politics than the developments of the country,had the journalist published his art work in the year 2000s ,he would have been far by now and not only that it would have been currently benefiting Zimbabweans as nation ,I plead to the government particularly in the aircraft department to provide the support that is needed for this intelligent Man to succeed in all his aspiration,he a goat .

i was misinformed about this guy. he really knows what he is doing. and he is doing what he can with what he has. given relevant support he can make a standard rotorcraft. after all the difference between him and an ordinary aircraft technician/engineer is the qualification and the urge to actually make his own craft.
