Had to watch the whole concert again yesterday, couldn't wait. Won't say much, but I will say this, Alex Lifeson is a monster guitarist; something I always knew but he is on full display in this concert. Enjoy Justin.
That is a GREAT SONG, live, studio, unplugged, A cappella or as a country, hip hop, death metal version. It doesn’t matter how it’s played or presented IT’S JUST THAT DAMN GOOD!🤘🖖✌️🥁🎸🎹🎤
Man they're playing so good. What a great DVD. I saw them at Jones Beach , NY on this tour. I think it was the second show on the tour after the break. It was incredible. So funny how you go about your days cranking up rush in your car and never hear anyone else do it until its Rush concert day. Literally, everyone has there windows down with 'em cranked up in traffic.
For me like you with some other RUSH albums I like some individual songs like this one off Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows I’ll accept that but 74-82 is my QUINTESSENTIAL RUSH ERA!
One of my favorites in concert. Something electric about it especially live. Whatever it was the whole crowd felt it & it was almost cathartic. Great stuff.
This was my 6th rush show but it was different as myself and much of the audience was very emotional. 'Our' band was back from a horrible place. Keep up the great work.
Live Rush is the best Rush. My mother bought me this DVD for Christmas when it was new knowing how much of a Rush fan I was. I didn’t even know it existed. Many of my favorite versions of their songs are on this although I don’t always love the mix. This song in particular is so much bigger and heavier than the studio version.
I think this is the release where they mention Neil wasn’t yet comfortable with a bunch of cameramen around him, so they mounted some standard def cameras around his kit. The rest of the shots are HD. That might account for some of the video issues you’re seeing.
I first "heard" this whole album while deployed in Iraq. Then we got see the DVD. Bought it as soon as I got home. I think this is one of the better Live sets they did. Geddy's voice started to decline a little but still was great for the next tours that I got to finally see. Great reaction. keep it up brother.
OK, so, as a analytical drummer I am always listening for differences in live vs studio (not in a jackass "he f-ed up way") just to hear Neil's choices at the time. I assume with your great ear that you also do the same with Bass players and I have always wondered how much Geddy adds or subtracts live for more feeling, his playing always sounds great to me.
Honestly when this song and video came out in '84 I was embarrassed for Rush, just so different in look and sound from just a few years earlier, still not a massive fan of mid 80's Rush but has some really good moments
13yr difference...age 49 vs. almost 62 (R40) cmon does anyone expect that there wouldn't have been deterioration in his voice with the way he wailed up until Signals??? Is what it is...I loved the way he sang on the Snakes tour...Time Machine is when the real challenge began IMO✌️

Lerxst always brings it from his heart.
Geddy sounded incredible on this and also the R30 Dvd
Geddy, playing four instruments and vocals, manages to run around the stage at breakneck speed. Love 'em.
RIO is on (el fuego)🔥🔥🔥what a show, vertigo.🤘🤘🤘

I have Rush in Rio on DVD. I watched it probably 100 times. This concert is EPIC. I saw Rush 5 times. I Saw Rush on their R30 tour comes close. 🤘
Justin, Thanks for your dedication! You almost forgot to say "BAM"...lol
A display of raw talent! So beautiful and powerful!
What a drum track! Always a favorite because of its speed and cymbal patterns.
This is just incredible music. RUSH is so talented that it’s insane. RIP Neil🙏 Getty is incredible. Alex is also
Great performance of a great song from a show chock-full of great performances. Fiyah.
This song sounds really great live and the energy of the crowd is amazing!
I saw this Same Tour in Colorado USA and they absolutely shredded it. Great Show

Awesome performance of this classic, first time seeing this footage..

It's amazing how much better this is live with a jazz bass than the studio version (with a Steinberger?).
Fantastic version!
With Rush It’s all about Neil, wrote all the songs and was one of the best on the kit…The new guy. RIP Neil.
Great reaction. Thanks Justin.
Great song!! So much better live!! Be well and God bless… from Texas!! 😊
Great song
To say that Geddy dominates this song is a gross understatement. Whew!

Grace, baby!
Amazing live! Up next is my favourite version of New World Man! It rocks!

VBC, buddy!
@@cjonesufc thank you for your support
My father was a career musician and I never once saw him listening to music for leisure. No exaggeration. Only for work.
I was so hoping you were going to do two a days with this show. Oh well 8 am central time it is with my morning coffee. See you tomorrow!!!
Arpeggio master strikes again.

You should listen to p over g every chance you get. I do.
Time, more time.. I know what you’re saying
Ged still sings good here, that soon changed
Compare this one to the the r 40 version.Night and day vocally.

Shame you can't sit and watch the whole lot in one go, or maybe you are ...
I always cringe when they start songs too fast, and then slow it down by the first chorus. It sounds horrible and unprofessional.
