Hi Gabriel! Just to let you in on a little secret... it’s 3 Cabos 🤫 Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo and Cabo Pulmo aka East Cape or Cabo del Este. Jacques Cousteau explored the area and named it the aquarium of the world, it is now a protected area, only open to eco-tourism. Make sure you stop by if you’re in the area.
Glad you paid those guys something ,, for me that's one of the best things about Mexico , the impromptu music and street scenes, not to mention the street food ,,,, some of the best in the world
Mexico is located on Western Hemisphere region. It’s westernized for a reason first of all it’s because it’s located on the West. I don’t know if you are aware but Los Cabos (beach resort)was developed by FONATUR which is the National Fund for Tourism Development. This government entity was established back on the 70’s with a mandate for the planning, construction and maintenance of sustainable well-designed tourism centers throughout the country. Some examples of such tourist resorts developments are Cancun, Huatulco, Ixtapa and Loreto. So basically, it was developed to meet tourist demand. That’s why you see a combination between modern buildings, highways, big resorts, business, plazas and walkable streets the area that was developed by FONATUR (westernized area lol) and the old town.
@@annethall I was truly disappointed in the whole experience. Sad and desperate for income. People won't leave you alone at the beach. The food was too Americanized and the poverty a block away from resorts was just too unsettling for me. Thought about trying La Paz but I'm moving past Baja. I kept asking Realtor in San Felipe what happened here it looks like a bomb went off. Houses are cheap but Ocean was not blue.
@@georgettedowden5868 I did the Yucatan many many years ago and it was great. Now it's touristy to the max. Playa del Carmen is awful. I almost got robbed on the beautiful beach. I was in Tulum when it was a dirt road, and it was great. Now it is a Yoga/Vegan/etc. expensive place. I now go to out of the way Caribbean islands that no one hears of and it's so much better.
The bus is frequent and makes dependable stops so that walking is possible and convenient. Before LaPaz, you might view the date palms which remain from 1500 plantings by early Spanish settlers which drop fruit into parking lots near the public market. I heard Joan Baez sister bought a place walking distance from downtown Todos Santos. Many Canadian and German gallery owners, etc. Nice place.
Been to Cabo San Lucas twice with family on cruises and it always seemed like "McMexico" to me, hope to get to other places in Mexico and explore Puerto Vallarta deeper.
You need to come and rent a car a get to todos Santos la Paz and near San Jose to Cabo pulmo ND near there. Lot of places to explore and very cool . Vallarta surroundings are not so safe Jaliscos cartel is everywhere there.
I LIVED IN CABO FOR SEVEN YEARS.. BROUGHT BACK MANY FOND MEMORIES.. BUT NO CULTURE.. LOTS OF GIRLS AND "SNOW". NOT FOR ME.. BUT THANK YOU.. THE HIGHLIGHT IS THE NIGHTCLUBS.. SQUID ROW . WHAT A BLAST!
11:52: I bought a lightweight fishing vest for my travels in Europe. As you can see from the one this guy is wearing, you can carry a lot of gear in the vest pockets and keep your hands free. And you don't have to worry about leaving or losing a bag somewhere. One of the best clothing items I bought for travelling. The one I've got has big inside zip pockets.
Thanks Gabe. Was just about to fall asleep and noticed you had a new video out. Had to watch it. But now I’m wide awake again. Man, San Lucas is a happening place. Good video, as always.
My first time on the West Coast of Mexico! It’s less developed than the Yucatan Peninsula (Cancun, Playa del Carmen area) but still has its share of bachelor/bachelorette parties.
Great story about the glasses. Mexicans are a lot more honest then a lot of people think. The best food in the Baja is where the real local eat. Small taco stands.
Aboriginal name for Cabo is Yenekamú. It means "where our homeland ends" and, the original people here where inhabitants before spaniards and people who crossed Bering Strait. It was calculated 40 thousand years ago in Babisuri (Espíritu Santo Island) human artcraft was left in a cave. By the way, babisuri is an aboriginal name for an animal that looks part racoon, part cat, and that makes sounds like pig, that name that etymologically researched comes from polynesean for "animal that sounds like a pig". My great great grand mother was an aboriginal Pericú and was married with a Welshman, both fought in Mexican Revolution against the loser party called "huertistas".
I am looking at Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, or Playa Del Carmen for my Honeymoon and watching your videos shows how much people will be trying to sell me something. I have never done an all-inclusive resort, but I can see why some might opt for that in these areas. I love exploring and everything looks beautiful, but it seems like it could become a hassle after awhile. Great video as always.
Hi Gabrel, This Cabo San Lucas is definitely a party atmosphere with a lot of party boats going out where the other part of San Jose Cabo is traditional relaxing vacation style no doubt a bit of contrast.
You can watch only so many travel videos on UA-cam I am getting increasingly frustrated sitting at home. People love to hangout on the beach, in Cabo, in mexico 👾
Happy to find your channel. I lived in Todos Santos for 18 years, opened the first B and B in the town, became a Mexican citizen. Had to leave because of the 2008, 09 ,10 financial crisis and then H1N1. Tourism in the area, across the board, was down to 20% of normal. Right now looks like maybe 15%. Lots of Mexicans on the beach. That might be nice for them in a way. Interesting to see who is wearing masks. Good luck in your travels. See if you can find someone to take you into the mountains behind Todos Santos. The dirt smells good there.
Another nice video. I am looking forward so much to my first trip to Mexico in february. For the first time I will use youtube as one source of destination research. I will use your older videos from Mexico and Belize (and there if there is any Guatemala video) :) Thanks Gabriel.
GABE thanks for the tour. The beach does look EPIC! QUESTION are there any good cheap hostels there in Cabo San Lucas? How about VEGETARIAN restaurants? I am planning to stay there for 4 weeks while teaching online and making travel vlogs on the side.
You can save yourself a lot of walking if you take the street directly across from Cynthia Fresh (rather than walk around the Hyatt Place). Also, just east of that spot (between the Dolphin Pool and the OXXO) there is a staircase that is a short cut to go towards that over crossing. Just an FYI for other viewers. This was a great walking tour video.I would have liked for you to give the names of more places, like the hotel you were in, in Cabo San Lucas. It looked like you were maybe eating at the SandBar?
In Mexico, “Mexican food” is just “food!” 😉 You should have gone to Tacos Guss in town. Amazing (and inexpensive) tacos....both locals and tourists. A good sign!
Can totally relate to your comment in a couple of your recent videos about your sunglasses fogging up when you're wearing your mask. Happens all the time to me so I'm constantly taking my mask up and down and taking my glasses on & off. I'll be first in line for the vaccine. At the same time I don't want to be the last person to catch the covid.
2 touristy 4 me. EDIT: Drug dealers walking around in friggin broad daylight killed any desire I had to go here... This place looks legit kinda scary, like the local police is completely corrupted. Lol. Seriously reminds me of a friggin GTA game. Random ass NPCs walking around trying to hustle.
It's safe. People just hit extra hard because of the pandemic so they are just going a little harder. But I seen tourist women walking alone at night. Women jogging with their dog.

Wonder if it's whale watching season this time of year? La Pas is supposed to be a great fishing area with big $$$ fishing tournaments. The fresh shrimp & fish should be awesome 😛.Tks & be safe.

I know you was asking Gabriel that question, but if you was asking me it would be Florence in Italy, followed by Varanasi in India, totally different, but great vibe in both.
After watching your vids over the past few years, Gabe, is all I can say, is what an amazing life you've lived!!!!!!!!

Taking a stroll at along the beach in cabo during the evening looks epic.
Beautiful sights Gabriel! Nice to see the sun and warm weather! Heaven ⛵☀️⛅ stay safe! Can't wait for your next video 😎🙂❤ take care Gabriel!
I believe the first beer of Mexico was Victoria from Toluca in 1865. If you are looking for quaint try Loreto much cheaper than Los Cabos.
An iguana wearing a sombrero. Wow!
That loud beach looks like exactly what I want to avoid. Thank you for the video!
It's nice to see Mexico is trying to stay open.
