That room of drawings is beautiful , the later work has a touch of kitsch , the red walls make the landscapes feel strangely airless. Perhaps it's those relentless blue skies too. thanks for an excellent tour as always

These paintings are so vibrant, alive and full of light. What an achievement from an artist well into his eighties. Excellent !!

Cuadros coloristas bien dibujados. Un gran artista que personalmente me gusta. Cuadros muy expresivos de colores vivos. Hockney es un artista en toda la extensión de la palabra.

Seeing these paintings hanging in a gallery and therefore their size brings them to life. I have only seen prints in books and they simply do not work. These large canvases are amazing as are the drawings. Quite a revelation. I need to see the real paintings

I never find Hockney's works appealing, the color palette just puts me off... but this video helps me understand more about him. Thanks for making this.

IPad is no worse a medium than watercolour. Critics are too apprehensive.

Alright my honest response is, I appreciate the detailed analysis and exploration of his work, but I can't say I greatly respect much of David Hockney's art. A lot of it looks rather juvenile and amateurish. I have been a self taught painter of 2-3 years and Hockney's famous "A Bigger Splash" was an easy one to imitate. I feel like the painters we should be celebrating should be the ones doing work that nobody else can do at a skill level that is not easily duplicated. Some of the color schemes are also rather glaring and unpleasant for the eye. I don't think his work is something you'd want in your home unless it had the Hockney name attached to it. In short, I find him overrated.

And over priced. One of the paintings in this video set a new record ($90 mill) for a living artist at auction..

It's always easy to imitate, to lead is the difficult thing.
