I would watch even if you just set the camera up outside with the kids doing there nature study. That's relaxing for me. I've raised my children and I love seeing children having fun. Don't worry about anything Janice.

First, I want to say that whatever you feel led to do is the right thing, and I think that's wonderful. We just have a family meeting too. We live on 12 acres of. The edge of one of the USAs largest cities, we've been here 10 years homesteading. Our city has zoned us commercial. We are going to become a market garden, urban farming business. Also, because I'm am older, there are a lot of drs. visits that I need that I have put off because we were carrying the cheaper health insurance. For 2025, we will be getting the more expensive plan so that I can have some things checked out. This means 400$ less in our monthly budget. We had a family meeting and decided to do 1 month of grocery hauls sourced from 3 stores. Part of the reason for this is that there is now no time here in Houston that is not busy. There's is no slower weekday time with only retirees and stay at home moms shopping. Now, it has become busy with difficult and long lines at 4 stops and traffic 24/7. We are hoping to save money and time by switching to a monthly shop and also force ourselves to depend on what we grow. It's also to practice discipline. There are only 3 of us. Life has become harder for many. It's natural that we are either re-assessing our lives or taking our self-sufficiency to the next level.
Janice, your family is way more important than UA-cam or any of us. God has selected you to raise those children and theyre your first priority. Anyone that doesn’t understand that is sad because your children are number one.
The biggest thing I have learned from your videos is, “Do the next right thing.” Listen to your own words and do what needs to be done for your family. We will be here and we will watch whatever you post. We WILL!!!

You will NEVER regret putting your family first but you'd eventually regret letting other things interfere with that. The children are with you only for such a short time. The years go by so fast and you can never get those times back again. You have the right priorities figured out and you have the complete understanding of your subscribers to do whatever is best for you & your precious family. I'm sure we'll all be happy with whatever you have time to share with us, whenever you have time. We totally understand... we only do one a week although that may change and we may do more now. We are retired now, building our homestead on the island with no children - family is sooo important and I can honestly say that I wouldn't be doing UA-cam with my former work/family/balance. We used to spend time together and do everythjng together. I miss that. That broke my heart for you. Its so easy today to slowly go away from that and not even realize. Its soooo hard to not let life get in the way. Im sooooo glad you had that meeting and your kids are comfortable and confident enough to say that. I'm one of those older mothers you spoke of. I have never regretted being a SAHM. Children grow up so fast and you will never get the days back. Some things in life might wait but children won't. Being a mama is the most important job you'll ever do. You're doing good!

I love your family and enjoy when you 'invite' me (& all of us) to come spend some time with you all. The Friday Budget ones , as good as they might be, are what I feel it is something we all can do our for ourselves...checking prices and comparing where the best deals are - - why should anyone of us expect YOU to do what we are most capable of doing, and should already be doing, for ourselves. You do need to look after you and your family first and foremost. I am so very sorry this has caused so much stress for you. For what it is worth when you started the channel it was the goal of finishing the summer kitchen which you completed. I raised 4 children and family is the most important thing. Good Luck and you will never regret your choice . Personally I think the flour situation was the wake up call Life is out of control. I enjoyed your family ,shared many of your videos and really this is another example for people in general sometimes you have to sit down and change things up to stay grounded with what is most important to them.
Watching life in your sweet family has been a blessing to me. I know that managing finances for a large family must be challeging, but I have to say the shopping videos aren't nearly as special as the ones that center on the sweet interactions of your children, the talent you all show in your cooking, sewing, gardening, etc. Speaking for myself, you could leave out the price related videos completly! Give yourself a break and let us focus on the more important things, too.

in May 2008 I had my first heart attack from long term stress. TakoTsubo syndrome. There were 8 of us at the time and I was still teaching part time at our church school for K5. I too lost the joy of everything I was doing. God got my attention real quick. You have to take care of you in order to take care of them and be happy and content. I am praying for you. I didn't listen completely to my doctor and had another episode in 2011. He warned me of changes that had to be made. Stress is silent in it's work.
Janice when I found your channel the one thing I really enjoyed and found refreshing was that you were were trying to record memories for your family. And what you shared were snippets of your lives. They are the most pure and real memories you will enjoy forever. We enjoy those because they remind of us of a time when our lives were similar. You need to do what you started out doing and that is making memories for you and your family. We will always be here to share with you whatever you are willing to share. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

As your channel grew and you saw income coming in it must have been thrilling! Now you realize that pressure takes its toll. Your family is your responsibility, and all the tasks you have. You are right about that. I think one video a week is reasonable. Mix it up. I tend to watch life on the homestead more than Tuesday night live. I watch the shopping once in a while. Prioritize what you want to teach the viewer and don’t let UA-cam keep you hostage for more videos. Your health is most important, not the money.
Your family time is most important. Continue on UA-cam with what brings you joy, and matches your goals. You will have an audience, whether you post once a week or once a day. Happy new year to you and your family!

That is a wonderful thing to do for your family…I worked my whole life…cooked cleaned tried to make husband happy by cooking his favorite meals…then he got sick and passed…now my life has come to a halt even if I am lonely I just rest and relax

I do believe that slowing down and really enjoying your family, and them enjoying you, is the right decision. I am 66, and. Mamma to 2 boys, ages 43 and 40. Let’s just say that us Mammas know that our Children come first. It’s not always about the money, or pleasing others. I say that you cut down to 1 video a week, on a set day. You will still have your faithful followers. As for the live streams, once a month to catch up, or when you can fit them in. You are a sweet person, and I know you want to please all. Dear Janice, we all love you and your family! This was a huge decision for you and Shawn. How sweet you added in your amazing children to help make family goals for the year! I recall telling my little girls when they were young that mommy needed to work to provide a home, clothing and food….how I would have loved the opportunity to be home with them daily! The time goes so quickly!! What a true blessing that you have the opportunity now to make your own path and always putting your family as number one! I now have 11 grandkids, retired early after 40 years of working and now can be there for my girls and grandkids! I can help two busy full time mommies. My grandchildren active in sports, school programs and concerts! Both work full time as a nurse and postal worker! I cherish my time and being in the lives of my grandchildren! Wish I had this time at home when my girls were younger. Regrets but we do what we must to care for them in all ways! It took two incomes to provide for them back then. My daughters are doing amazing and share how blessed they are that I am their mom and the grandma to their beautiful children. Those memories made and yet to come are the most important! Your health must be a priority too! We will miss many of your videos but us subscriber will still be here! Even if you have to stop these videos, I'm grateful for them because you taught me to shop smarter. You didn't just give me a fish, you taught me how to fish. We are a 2 adult household with 2 fur babies. By sticking to or below or budget we were able to save $1,459.69 and were under budget by $1664.46 in 2024. I agree with cutting down on the "Livestream" that seems it takes some effort and time. Altho I feel Janice really enjoys them and connecting with friends on there! 😃 So maybe less time consuming, like you said less than an hour or so. I don't think people really need analytics. But I saw a video of Sean the other day walking over the property parts that are rarely seen I enjoyed that and was actually thinking that might be giving Janice a rest. So maybe a day a week Sean could film. And a day or 1 a week one of the older children could film some things, that would lighten up on Janice.❤❤

Aww how precious are your children saying they want to spend more time with you. One of my biggest regrets is having to go back to work due to bad financial mistakes my mother in law made so I wasn’t able to spend time with my children. Yes you do what you feel is best for your family. I really enjoy the videos of what your family eats in a day. I also enjoy seeing your family doing different chores in the home & on the homestead.
Family always has to take priority. We too are going to try to make 2025 a peaceful simple living. My kids and I need that. Our 2024 has been very rocky and chaotic. You do what needs to be done. If you put out a video great, if not I’ll still be watching for when you do put out one.

I am the mother of 7 children, all adults now, and the grandmother of 17. We homeschooled our children for the entirety of their school careers, and have a small family farm. I have watched you for some time now…your family reminds me of mine in many ways. I have never left a comment for you before, but I was compelled to comment on this video and tell you that YOU ARE MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION. I am thankful for the loving relationships I have with each of my adult children, and I work hard to continue developing and maintaining those…BUT if I had one thing to do over, it would be slowing down and being more available to my family. In so many ways we really did have it “all”, but I was a tired, frazzled mama who was stretched way too thinly. There are many conversations I should have had…missed opportunities for being sensitive and supportive that I didn’t even see in the hustle and bustle of every day life…moments that should be ingrained in my memory as beautiful and joyful that are tainted with stress and busyness instead. I do not spend much time grieving all of this…nothing can be done about it now. Instead I strive diligently to be very intentional about family time and relationships…but if I could go back! I’d also like to say that I have always been a full-time wife and mother (for 38 years now) and was NOT lazy or wasteful with my time. I was just focused on all the things I needed to do, instead of being focused on the people for whom I was doing those things. I am exceedingly proud of you for this commitment. It is easy to see families where UA-cam (and the money being made) takes over and the family suffers. Parents think the children are fine because they have more things, even a new house sometimes, but all they really want and need is time with their parents. Children who have lived this life and are now becoming adults are saying they hated being on UA-cam and wished their parents hadn’t done it. So Janice, you are making the right decision. Even if you have to stop UA-cam altogether, I would understand.

I’m 61 yrs old, I have one grown daughter. I regret not spending more time with her. Mine was an obsessive need to be sure my house was clean and clothes washed. But I wish I would’ve let some of that go and just enjoyed her more. We also spent a little too much time being involved in every ministry in our church, which probably was not necessary. So yes, enjoy every minute you can with your beautiful family. Such precious children, the only gift we are given with eternal value. I’ll love y’all with one video a week or 2 a month or whatever you can do. You’re a great mom, don’t let Satan convince you otherwise. Love to you and your family!

This stage is a big step with our own integrity, "learning limitation and surrender". Learning not to put extreme pressures on ourselves or allowing others to do that to us. It can be a martyrdom issue and we need to change that undesirable pattern. Less is more, a video once a week or a fortnight of the type of your choicing at the time is plenty. Preserve you and your family Janice. I learnt the hard way unfortunately and collapsed into acute Chronic Fatigue which has disabled me and has other complications, so please take great care. We get our warnings!
As someone whose mom passed away when I was 25- thank you! Thank you for putting your children first. I wish I had more time with my mom and I miss her daily. Your kids will thank you.

I raised seven children and am now raising a grandchild. I do have regrets because many times I had to work and I know how hard it was and is even now at 63. Time is not our friend because it never stops and a mother’s work is never really done deadlines are all around us. But you are an exceptional woman and mother because God has made you that way and I am sure that just like me you pray for guidance about everything and that IS the only way to live. I am a farmer, and in my busy season my work takes all of my attention and it truly makes me sad feeling pulled away from my home and husband duties 😢 so I understand what you mean!! I am even thinking of changing my career to be able to take care of my home more as my husband is also working and school full time. We are preparing for our future family in this season. God willing we will be blessed with children one day and then I will be able to leave my job and dedicate myself to them fully. You are a great mother and homemaker. We live on 12 acres of. The edge of one of the USAs largest cities, we've been here 10 years homesteading. Our city has zoned us commercial. We are going to become a market garden, urban farming business.
Also, because I'm am older, there are a lot of drs. visits that I need that I have put off because we were carrying the cheaper health insurance. For 2025, we will be getting the more expensive plan so that I can have some things checked out. This means 400$ less in our monthly budget.
We had a family meeting and decided to do 1 month of grocery hauls sourced from 3 stores. Part of the reason for this is that there is now no time here in Houston that is not busy. There's is no slower weekday time with only retirees and stay at home moms shopping. Now, it has become busy with difficult and long lines at 4 stops and traffic 24/7. We are hoping to save money and time by switching to a monthly shop and also force ourselves to depend on what we grow. It's also to practice discipline. There are only 3 of us.
Life has become harder for many. It's natural that we are either re-assessing our lives or taking our self-sufficiency to the next level.
Janice, your family is way more important than UA-cam or any of us. God has selected you to raise those children and theyre your first priority. Anyone that doesn’t understand that is sad because your children are number one.

The biggest thing I have learned from your videos is, “Do the next right thing.” Listen to your own words and do what needs to be done for your family. We will be here and we will watch whatever you post. We WILL!!!

Janice, you're such a kind, loving woman and so very wise about what's most important in life. You will NEVER regret putting your family first but you'd eventually regret letting other things interfere with that. The children are with you only for such a short time. The years go by so fast and you can never get those times back again. You have the right priorities figured out and you have the complete understanding of your subscribers to do whatever is best for you & your precious family. We totally understand... we only do one a week although that may change and we may do more now. We are retired now, building our homestead on the island with no children - family is sooo important and I can honestly say that I wouldn't be doing UA-cam with my former work/family/balance. We used to spend time together and do everythjng together. I miss that. That broke my heart for you. Its so easy today to slowly go away from that and not even realize. Its soooo hard to not let life get in the way. Im sooooo glad you had that meeting and your kids are comfortable and confident enough to say that. Not all parents listen and allow that open communication. Shows what a wonderful mother you are.

I'm one of those older mothers you spoke of. I have never regretted being a SAHM. Children grow up so fast and you will never get the days back. Some things in life might wait but children won't. Being a mama is the most important job you'll ever do. You're doing good!

The Friday Budget ones , as good as they might be, are what I feel it is something we all can do our for ourselves...checking prices and comparing where the best deals are - - why should anyone of us expect YOU to do what we are most capable of doing, and should already be doing, for ourselves. I need to pick and choose very wisely,and mostly say "no"...so I can say "yes" to the things I really want to do and that are truly important. I am tired of carrying "mom guilt". Time with kids, making memories, taking care of my health, loving others ...the important things ❤

For what it is worth when you started the channel it was the goal of finishing the summer kitchen which you completed. I raised 4 children and family is the most important thing. Good Luck and you will never regret your choice . Personally I think the flour situation was the wake up call Life is out of control. I enjoyed your family ,shared many of your videos and really this is another example for people in general sometimes you have to sit down and change things up to stay grounded with what is most important to them.
Watching life in your sweet family has been a blessing to me. I know that managing finances for a large family must be challeging, but I have to say the shopping videos aren't nearly as special as the ones that center on the sweet interactions of your children, the talent you all show in your cooking, sewing, gardening, etc. Speaking for myself, you could leave out the price related videos completly! Give yourself a break and let us focus on the more important things, too.

in May 2008 I had my first heart attack from long term stress. TakoTsubo syndrome. There were 8 of us at the time and I was still teaching part time at our church school for K5. I too lost the joy of everything I was doing. God got my attention real quick. You have to take care of you in order to take care of them and be happy and content. I am praying for you. I didn't listen completely to my doctor and had another episode in 2011. He warned me of changes that had to be made. Stress is silent in it's work.
Janice when I found your channel the one thing I really enjoyed and found refreshing was that you were were trying to record memories for your family. And what you shared were snippets of your lives. They are the most pure and real memories you will enjoy forever. We enjoy those because they remind of us of a time when our lives were similar. You need to do what you started out doing and that is making memories for you and your family. We will always be here to share with you whatever you are willing to share. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

As your channel grew and you saw income coming in it must have been thrilling! Now you realize that pressure takes its toll. Your family is your responsibility, and all the tasks you have. You are right about that. I think one video a week is reasonable. Mix it up. I tend to watch life on the homestead more than Tuesday night live. I watch the shopping once in a while. Prioritize what you want to teach the viewer and don’t let UA-cam keep you hostage for more videos. Your health is most important, not the money.
Your family time is most important. Continue on UA-cam with what brings you joy, and matches your goals. You will have an audience, whether you post once a week or once a day. Happy new year to you and your family!

That is a wonderful thing to do for your family…I worked my whole life…cooked cleaned tried to make husband happy by cooking his favorite meals…then he got sick and passed…now my life has come to a halt even if I am lonely I just rest and relax

I do believe that slowing down and really enjoying your family, and them enjoying you, is the right decision. I am 66, and. Mamma to 2 boys, ages 43 and 40. Let’s just say that us Mammas know that our Children come first. It’s not always about the money, or pleasing others. I say that you cut down to 1 video a week, on a set day. You will still have your faithful followers. As for the live streams, once a month to catch up, or when you can fit them in. You are a sweet person, and I know you want to please all. I recall telling my little girls when they were young that mommy needed to work to provide a home, clothing and food….how I would have loved the opportunity to be home with them daily! The time goes so quickly!!
What a true blessing that you have the opportunity now to make your own path and always putting your family as number one! I now have 11 grandkids, retired early after 40 years of working and now can be there for my girls and grandkids! I can help two busy full time mommies. My grandchildren active in sports, school programs and concerts! Both work full time as a nurse and postal worker! I cherish my time and being in the lives of my grandchildren! Wish I had this time at home when my girls were younger. Regrets but we do what we must to care for them in all ways! It took two incomes to provide for them back then.
My daughters are doing amazing and share how blessed they are that I am their mom and the grandma to their beautiful children. Those memories made and yet to come are the most important! Your health must be a priority too!

Even if you have to stop these videos, I'm grateful for them because you taught me to shop smarter. You didn't just give me a fish, you taught me how to fish. We are a 2 adult household with 2 fur babies. By sticking to or below or budget we were able to save $1,459.69 and were under budget by $1664.46 in 2024. Thank you for all the time you put in and the hard work you did to make it possible.

I agree with cutting down on the "Livestream" that seems it takes some effort and time. Altho I feel Janice really enjoys them and connecting with friends on there! 😃 So maybe less time consuming, like you said less than an hour or so. I don't think people really need analytics.

I’m glad you are staying grounded in what’s important for you and your family. Honestly, watching the kids do chores and playing is enjoyable for me. I’m a retired gramma and am really happy to see your life in reality. The folks who show their lives perfect, I don’t relate to. When you film what your family is doing to prepare meals, that’s great. Show and share that recipe. I might want to try it. You don’t owe an apology for what you film. It may be day to day life on the farm, but I didn’t ever live on a farm. Showing what and how you feed the animals is interesting. New babies are interesting. I was impressed to see the dress being made for a sister’s upcoming birthday. I wanna try cream of barley! Relax, Janice. You don’t need to make anything special… regular farm life with a big family and homeschooling is not regular to most UA-cam viewers.

Aww how precious are your children saying they want to spend more time with you. One of my biggest regrets is having to go back to work due to bad financial mistakes my mother in law made so I wasn’t able to spend time with my children. Yes you do what you feel is best for your family. I really enjoy the videos of what your family eats in a day. I also enjoy seeing your family doing different chores in the home & on the homestead.
Family always has to take priority.
We too are going to try to make 2025 a peaceful simple living. My kids and I need that. Our 2024 has been very rocky and chaotic. You do what needs to be done. If you put out a video great, if not I’ll still be watching for when you do put out one.

I am the mother of 7 children, all adults now, and the grandmother of 17. We homeschooled our children for the entirety of their school careers, and have a small family farm. I have watched you for some time now…your family reminds me of mine in many ways. I have never left a comment for you before, but I was compelled to comment on this video and tell you that YOU ARE MAKING THE RIGHT DECISION. I am thankful for the loving relationships I have with each of my adult children, and I work hard to continue developing and maintaining those…BUT if I had one thing to do over, it would be slowing down and being more available to my family. In so many ways we really did have it “all”, but I was a tired, frazzled mama who was stretched way too thinly. There are many conversations I should have had…missed opportunities for being sensitive and supportive that I didn’t even see in the hustle and bustle of every day life…moments that should be ingrained in my memory as beautiful and joyful that are tainted with stress and busyness instead. I do not spend much time grieving all of this…nothing can be done about it now. Instead I strive diligently to be very intentional about family time and relationships…but if I could go back! I’d also like to say that I have always been a full-time wife and mother (for 38 years now) and was NOT lazy or wasteful with my time. I was just focused on all the things I needed to do, instead of being focused on the people for whom I was doing those things. I am exceedingly proud of you for this commitment. It is easy to see families where UA-cam (and the money being made) takes over and the family suffers. Parents think the children are fine because they have more things, even a new house sometimes, but all they really want and need is time with their parents. Children who have lived this life and are now becoming adults are saying they hated being on UA-cam and wished their parents hadn’t done it. So Janice, you are making the right decision. Even if you have to stop UA-cam altogether, I would understand.

I’m 61 yrs old, I have one grown daughter. I regret not spending more time with her. Mine was an obsessive need to be sure my house was clean and clothes washed. But I wish I would’ve let some of that go and just enjoyed her more. We also spent a little too much time being involved in every ministry in our church, which probably was not necessary.
So yes, enjoy every minute you can with your beautiful family. Such precious children, the only gift we are given with eternal value. I’ll love y’all with one video a week or 2 a month or whatever you can do. You’re a great mom, don’t let Satan convince you otherwise. Love to you and your family!

This stage is a big step with our own integrity, "learning limitation and surrender". Learning not to put extreme pressures on ourselves or allowing others to do that to us. It can be a martyrdom issue and we need to change that undesirable pattern. Less is more, a video once a week or a fortnight of the type of your choicing at the time is plenty. Preserve you and your family Janice. I learnt the hard way unfortunately and collapsed into acute Chronic Fatigue which has disabled me and has other complications, so please take great care. We get our warnings!
As someone whose mom passed away when I was 25- thank you! Thank you for putting your children first. I wish I had more time with my mom and I miss her daily. Your kids will thank you.

I raised seven children and am now raising a grandchild. I do have regrets because many times I had to work and I know how hard it was and is even now at 63. Time is not our friend because it never stops and a mother’s work is never really done deadlines are all around us. But you are an exceptional woman and mother because God has made you that way and I am sure that just like me you pray for guidance about everything and that IS the only way to live. I am a farmer, and in my busy season my work takes all of my attention and it truly makes me sad feeling pulled away from my home and husband duties 😢 so I understand what you mean!! I am even thinking of changing my career to be able to take care of my home more as my husband is also working and school full time. We are preparing for our future family in this season. God willing we will be blessed with children one day and then I will be able to leave my job and dedicate myself to them fully. You are a great mother and homemaker.
