    As a former d1 football player. You cant coach grown men like a pop warner team. He acts like a high school coach and talks to them like children and no team of grown men are ever going to buy into this joke of a system.

    • @zayne9785
      @zayne9785 Рік тому

      Yes you could put the blame on him, but seeing as how he didn’t get to meet his team until the season started and develop a relationship and base structure with the team, he was basically walking on one leg through the first half of the season, after the 72-0 loss the whole team was demoralized and anything he tried didn’t seem to work. But yes his philosophy did cost them crucial points which would cause bigger gaps that they would have to work harder to try and win. They did end up changing towards the end of the season but by then the damage was done. But you can’t expect a coach who was in high school for so long where he dominated with this specific coaching style that he’s been doing his whole career and expect him to immediately be great with his team, especially under those circumstances. (Edit: by all means I am not a D1 player so if their is anything I missed then I would like to know)

    • @goldsbym
      @goldsbym 9 місяців тому +1

      Yeah it seems like the average successful coach in college must scream and yell profanities, must demoralize the confidence and the intelligence of each player. Must fight with his players and of course must fight with the assistant coaches and staff. And last but not least must lie to his players making them think they are NFL superstars while holding a degree over their head but at any moment it will be taken away and the player will be sent home. 😅

      @@zayne9785 not meeting yout team until the season doesnt change how you treat the people on the team tho. being a college coach is realizing that every player comes from a different place and situation and learning to coach players rather than bulldoze them. some kids come from areas where people die every day and they fight people on sight for disrespect and others come from families with money and discipline and can actually respond to a grown man screaming in their face in a somewhat positive way

    They should drop down a division. A non-scholarship D1 program lost their season before it starts. You’re selling points to 3-5 stars are; the smallest program in the division, minuscule budget, 50k yearly school bill, no priority scheduling, coach can’t mandate players to show up to practice.. not many HS stars are gonna bite at that. Drop to D III where no school has scholarship programs.

    • @bentrujillo6406
      @bentrujillo6406 Рік тому +15

      They had a losing mentality because of the coach wouldn’t you rather play a field position game and win 17-14. Rather giving your opponent only half the field to go. Taking phones on a road trip these guys aren’t kids you have to trust them. He had such a ego that he sat his running back to prove a point look at me. Your losing guys left and right and he can’t even see it. I would have gotten more out of these kids for sure. Trust me when you coach a team as a team and you don’t treat people like individuals you are gonna lose your team. Not every kid is the same you have to figure out how you get the most out of your guys.

    Coach Kelly can coach the way he wants in High School but you can’t walk into a college where you have no footing of you being successful at the next level and act like that. If they had a coach that adapted and got on the same page as his players he wins 2-4 more games.. you lost this team being you/ Urban Meyer.. You can’t come to the D1 level acting like Meyer it’s like Meyer going to the NFL acting like himself. People don’t listen when your not a players coach as they grow older

    Ren actually wasn’t a bad quarterback, if the Oline gave him more time than he would’ve been better

    You know im not trying to blame one player cause football is a team effort type of sport but this quarterback is horrible probably one one of the worst quarterbacks I've every scene in football like first of all he doesn't run the play the coach gives him and throws like a thousands of interceptions and fumbles like this quarterback yall have he doesn't look never opens his eyes and never pays attention iv played for a football team for like 6 or 7 years never seen a quarterback like that throws a football to another team so many times
