- Today I fail. I plan to shoot a video about my favourite camera the Hasselblad 500C/M. It doesn't go to plan as I wasn't organised. So I park my video about the Hasselblad 500C/M and just make the most of the gorgeous light on the New Zealand West Coast.
The @HasselbladAS 500C/M is amazing for so many reasons but is it a good option for Landscape Photography or just suited for Portraits and Studio Work. We look at how the Hasselblad can work as a Landscape option.
This was my first outing with my new 45L @peakdesignvideo Bag + @peakdesignvideo Tech Pouch and ill review that soon too. make sure you are familiar with all gear before taking it out.
I use the amazing Kodak Ektar 100 Film. Usually I use portrait but given the fine grain and I was on a tripod I wanted to make the most of Kodak Ektars amazing qualities.

Thanks for the great photos and video. I came in because of the Instax EVO review video. But wow, it's a Hasselblad video... I'm even more happy because it's the same spot meter on the same camera as me.
Thanks for the feedback mate. Great to hear, came for the evo stayed for the blad haha. Oh nice one! ill check your channel out :)
Glad to see his pitch for the Minolta Spotmeter F. That with its predecessor Sportmeter M are almost certainly the best spot meters ever made. The digital Pentax spot meter has color blind issues and requires a relatively clumsy two step user transfer of settings to make a reading. The Gossen "Ultraspot" seems to have disappeared from the used market, as they seemed to lack durability to survive. The old Soligor spot meters are around, much simpler in use with no other features. Then there is the hugely over priced Sekonics, lacking decent ergonomics and convenience by comparison. While the F adds flash spot reading capacity to the features of the M, the meaningful difference between the two models is that most M units use an expensive 6 volt silver oxide battery, whereas the F (and the very last M) uses an "off the shelf" AA.
Great video, and a great vibe! Nice to see the 500CM in the field!
Thank you very much! It’s a beautiful camera. I’ve had this one for 15 years now and could never let it go. Thanks for taking time to comment.
Another nice video Bernie. So nice to have honesty in these presentations. Keep up the good work mate.
Thanks Neville! sorry for the late reply. Really appreciate your comments mate, great to know you enjoy them :)
No worries mate. Looking forward to more posts from you.
Today you succeeded my friend. I have not been able to return home in years. It was a pleasure getting to see NZ again. All the best bro
Thanks Bronson! Yeah got there in the end. Nearly threw the towel in but decided to do the work. Oh no way, where in NZ you from??
@@bernieshore Glad you got out there! I'm from Auckland, can't wait to get back and travel around NZ again. It's really cool to see analog photography of NZ, appreciate it.
nice photos! also surf's up🤙
Thanks mate! It's been a while since I surfed, I think the Wild West coast might eat me alive haha
Hello
When shooting on tripod, using mirror prerelease would bring you more sharpness with the 500 C/M
Great frames, shame model wasn't in the snaps, mate.
Blood sacrifice to the film gods 🤣
Hahaha mate I laughed so hard at this. I'd do anything for a good shot haha
I’d take a rolleiflex sl66 over a hassleblad anyday, but good video!
I used to own a SL66 and am thinking it could be a great camera to venture back to....need to find a cheap one. Thanks for the feedback!
@@bernieshore I just did a whole series of extreme macro because I can reverse Mount the lenses
Amazing camera
which lightmetre did you use?
What I don't understand is why all these UA-cam videos showing the use of a Hasselblad 500 show the photographer constantly replacing the dark slide between shots...?? I've been shooting with Hasselblads for years, and when I'm shooting, I take out the dark slide and put it somewhere safe until I'm done with a particular sequence of shots. If the back's light seals are in good condition, there's absolutely no reason to refit the dark slide after each exposure ... And if you have only one back, since you can reload the back without removing it from the body, there's no reason to put the dark slide back in unless you want to remove the back for some reason.
I've been puzzling over this through the past six or seven Hasselblad demonstration shoots I've watched. It makes no sense to me.
🤗 P r o m o s m!!!
Hope you enjoyed the video :)
