    I’ve enjoyed so many of these green room podcasts. But this might be my favorite. Teacher is definitely a call on John’s life. The lord has been speaking Holy and Set Apart to me in direct revelation and everything John taught took it to another level. I will be reading his book and looking at it as a potential for our midsize studies groups at the church. Power of the spirit goes out when John teaches. Will keep an eye out for a podcast with Lisa! Don’t be afraid of promoting speakers books. So many of us want and desire great content. If a book is solid and you love it, let us know. Beyond excited to read the Fear of the Lord.

    DUDE. This was so good!! My heart was just burning when John was talking about this generation being sent to the lost sheep of the church. I’ve had this dream in my heart to go around the US sharing the gospel but specifically to people who have already known it and have walked away from the church. I have such a heart for people who have been in the church, have done all the “right” things, but still have turned away- especially because that’s my family. I’ve been questioning if that’s actually from God or not, and I feel like this was super encouraging.
    I’ve been in a place of hiddenness in the Lord and it’s been so hard, but I really feel like He’s drawing me into a deeper understanding of a holy fear and a life of holiness.
    This whole episode was just so good!! ❤️‍🔥

    For the last two weeks the Lord has been speaking, revealing, and teaching me all about what John was saying. Hebrews 12:28-29. The only acceptable worship is in reverence and awe. I think this may be the single most important word to the world in the present day. I am blown away! You are so good Jesus!

    For over a month now, the Holy Spirit keeps highlighting the holiness of God to me. In dreams and after waking up from dreams, I hear lyrics and beautiful voices singing "Holy" with other lyrics like, "He is holy, holy. He makes me worthy, worthy." Other days I will just have songs playing in my head and find myself singing songs that repeat "holy" and how God is so holy, and yet, I hadn't listened to these songs recently or that day, they just pop up without me noticing as I start to sing them. Then He gave me a word to share with fellow believers with the Scripture Ephesians 5:25-33. As I read it to the church, I marveled at how on target God was hitting with this Scripture. I had only planned to read part of it, but while reading, God said to read all 25-33, and I marveled! I hadn't even planned on sharing all of it, and I did not read it before hand, and it was on point with the word, how He is holy, and how He is making us, His bride, pure, blameless, without wrinkle. A few weeks after this a close friend sent me this and talked all about how this was a good podcast episode and I should listen to it...and what do you know! It's confirmation of what God keeps saying. The Lord is moving in this season as what people have been confirming too. A big season of people knowing His holiness and our need to revere Him in awe.
    Added note: I did ask my male pastor if I could share the word God gave.

    • @8784-l3b

      If your pastor said "No." and God said "Yes." who would you obey?

    • @jaedynvela7513
      @jaedynvela7513 8 місяців тому

      @@8784-l3b I would obey God through my Pastor. God says respect authorities. If God told me to share, but my authority over me who is Shepherd of that church says no, then I will trust that God will in His time move the heart of my Pastor to share, or I could share in a different setting. Our church allows men and women to share, but all must ask to be sure it's okay for that exact time if something else is going on (which it was). We want to be organized and hand off microphones, not just grab them from someone's hand or hop up without introduction. As well, the Pastors want to know who is sharing and what because what if someone random walked in and shared something totally unbiblical?

    • @jaedynvela7513
      @jaedynvela7513 8 місяців тому +2

      I replied to this, but for some reason it didn’t show up after posting. Odd!
      My reply: I would obey God through my Pastor. God says obey and respect authorities, and my Pastor(s) are the main Shepherds of our church. I would trust that God, in His time, would move the heart of my Pastor to allow the sharing, or I could share in a different setting. My church allows both men and women to share, but all must ask to keep it orderly, especially if something else is going on, which it was. A guest speaker was speaking but finishing up. We want to be organized, not just go up and interrupt and grab a microphone away from someone, nor go without any introduction. As well, the Pastors like to know who is going up and sharing what because no one wants some random person to just come in and share something totally unbiblical.
      This setting, my Pastor knew me and my relationship with God, so he didn’t ask what I was sharing, but he did say I could go up. I was looking for permission and also an introduction so others in the church also knew what was going on, rather than me just coming up unexpectedly on my own. Hope this helps :)

    Well, I will probably get attacked for what I’m about to write, but I raised six children with the Bible, “spankings, and love.” Three of my four boys turned out to be exactly what research shows: violent. Discipline does not have to cause physical pain to be effective. The only one of the six who is now serving Jesus struggles with addiction and is constantly in and out of rehab. My biggest regret in life is spanking. If I could go back and just love and hold them more, I absolutely would.

      Thank you for sharing your experience:)
      My boys are 8-10-11
      I came into parenthood ready to spank them
      I don't even remember ever doing it ....
      I determined ( maybe being led by HS) that it was not necessary 🤷 and today
      All 3 boys are very obedient and well behaved
      That being said
      I would maybe threaten it when they were young , but because they had a healthy fear of me , based on the fact that they knew I loved them
      They wanted to obey me :) 👍

      @@andrewderksen3342 You have a beautiful testimony. I wish I had known then that sometimes the Holy Spirit tells you to do exactly the opposite of what the church does. Please pray for my children. My heart is broken.

    • @thirdparsonage
      @thirdparsonage 5 місяців тому +6

      Not saying spanking is required, but my suspicion it's not about spankings per se, but the spirit in which discipline done. I got spanked as a kid very sparingly (maybe 3-4 times that I can remember) by a dad who loved me. It was only when I really blew it. And he didn't do it in anger. At least for me, it caused me to respect him. It did not breed violence for any of his 6 kids.
      I can also remember getting "demerits" at a family firend's cottage (a Bible study weekend for a few youth) for a silly rule I hadn't been told about. And I went there largely as a favor to the lady who gave me the demerit. I made up my mind not to ever go to back there.
      My point is that at least for me and what I believe I have observed in others, it has a lot more to do about the circumstances of the discipline and the way it is given. I've been spanked for what I knew was wrong by somebody who loved me and I felt like it was the right thing. I've been "demerited" for something silly by somebody who seemed more geared toward rules than relationship and I became resentful.
      I'm sure if I got spanked in anger or for silly reasons I didn't understand there would have been negative outcomes in my life and in my siblings.

    What resource can I look at to learn about women in the pulpit? I just don't get why Paul wrote about it if it wouldn't be relevant. But how he was talking about it, he seemed lile it was a no-brainer. I'm missing something. Cause everyone else just acts like Paul's words don't exist, with no understanding. ty for talking about women pastors! I feel called to learn more about it because it so obviously right for women to preachand pastor but those paul passages are used incorrectly; to twist the truth and make so many more women never step into God's callings for them. Yet over the centuries and in the bible the women prophets are used by God powerfully!

      You need to know 2 things.
      #1) Understand Deborah and what a Judge is well (I have a short free postable essay.)
      #2) Understand and know, that Paul wasn't a perfect teacher.
      (That is another free essay.)
      Commentary with scripture, with limited opinions.

      Hi,
      I am not sure what you are trying to tell me.
      1. You mention Deborah, who was used by the Lord as a judge AND prophetess (jg. 4:4) but what about Pricilla (Acts), The prophetess Anna (Luke 2), and the prophetess Huldah (2 chron 34 and 2 kings 22)?
      2. Paul was human, so by no means was he or everything he said in his lifetime perfect, but his contributions to scripture is God-breathed biblical teaching. So everything he taught that we have today is perfect; the very word of God uttered through the Holy Spirit in Paul.
