They've been good friends for decades - literally. They did this because of the money involved of, who is better - Buakaw obv. is but Saenchai is more liked by the public. Sad to see that Saenchai was forced to trade blows instead of doing his wizardry. Maybe Buakaw is aging a bit better than Saenchai. Regardless, great video man. Thanks!

I think a lot of people are missing the reason why Buakaw overwhelmed Saenchai. Saenchai isn't used to people walking through his offense like that, and Buakaw took the fight where he was strongest with strategy and skill. They're both elite fighters, and while strength obviously does matter, that's not even the main factor here. In Jiu-jitsu, I'm able to give some of the higher belts problems because they're unfamiliar with some of the catch wrestling techniques I use, and my guard is really hard to pass. Other people are able to exploit my game by taking me where I'm not comfortable, even though I've trained longer than them. Personal style is a bigger factor than many realize. Everyone's got weaknesses, and even if you're incredibly well rounded, they can and will be exploited.
I think I understand what you are trying to say. If someone doesn't have that direct experience, though, this concept is hard to believe as it goes against what people are taught in the sense that x skills are greater than x-1 skills (replace skills with whatever grade/measurement you want). What you are saying is that x skills isn't always greater than x-1 skills, there are many other parameters in play which haven't been measured yet.
@someguywholivesandbreathes4755 Not exactly. People with the exact same skill level can have different strengths and weaknesses. Someone less skilled than you can have strengths that exploit your weaknesses. Even that might be an oversimplification. Relationships differ from person to person. MMA has a lot of that. Israel Adesanya was a tough opponent for Alex Perreira, Perriera destroyed Sean Strickland easily, and Strickland destroyed Adesanya. All 3 are elite level athletes, but their styles are different, and their relationships with one another are drastically different.
@someguywholivesandbreathes4755 Different martial arts is a more extreme version of the same thing. A TKD guy is going to want to fight in kicking range, and a boxer is going to want to fight in punching range. If the TKD guy keeps him in kicking range, the boxer has lost his primary weapons. If the boxer keeps the TKD guy in punching range, the TKD guy has lost his primary weapons. Saenchai is well rounded, but a lot of his attacks are from that kicking range. Buakaw moved forward while defending Saenchai's attacks, and took Saenchai where he wasn't comfortable. Saenchai tried to adjust, but Buakaw just ate the shots and continued walking him down.
Saenchai has Buakaw beat when it comes to technique. But Buakaw has that raw physical prowess that Saenchai’s techniques couldn’t overcome. This was an amazing match between two equally respectable legends who made Muay Thai the martial art that it is today.

One of the best videos I've seen in a long time! I've been watching both of these legends for years, and never been let down. The amount of talent and sportsmanship is incredible.
What a match, 2 of the biggest names still fighting today. I have watched so many fights featuring both of these guys, truly motivational and inspiring.
It's just so great that they're friends and brought Muay Thai to the world together - especially Buakow in the prime of K1. They literally play footie, go to the gym and saunas together. They're just great dudes who've paid their dues (and then some) and deserve to enjoy their respective legacies and each other
Bro saying "Roy Jones Jr." as Buakaw weaves was great LOL. They are both incredible fighters but I enjoy watching Saenchai's fights more. His antics & huge variety of techniques grabs my attention like few others. Great video 🤙
I have forgotten to watch this fight. Thanks for the resume of this one. Well edited ! In this bout Buakaw was dominant. You can see that Saenchai is a bit overwhelmed from the differents skills that Buakaw presents him. In my eyes Saenchai is the kind of fighter that fit my style. But I love Buakaw will to fight, a true beast ! I wouldn't pick any of them as the GOAT since they offer something different to Muay Thai. Career wise I would say Saenchai for the longevity. But again this is just to choose one between the two. Loved the respect showed in this last fight ! Muay Thai is the winner there ! 😘
I love them both, but felt so bad for them in the fight. Bare nuckle fight with your best friend😢 Both of these two have amazing skills, perhaps saenchai slightly more so (at least more theatrical skills), but, the skills in combination with the physique and raw power of Buakaw is soo impressive. It feels like Saenchais words were to the Thai spectators and from his heart - as far as I understand the history, Buakaw could have been a GOAT at lumpinee but got screwed, or at the very least, the bad split with por pramuk removed his chances in Thailand. ❤
I love buakaw, I always prefered watching him fight compared to Saenchai. But pound for pound, Saenchai is the more technical fighter, and i think he gave him that win. Buakaw has the power though, combined his poise and conditioning, you can't spar agsinst that with just technique at a weight disadvantage. The power will rock your balance. Saenchai was very generous and gracious with his words and to even take the fight. Just my 2c
Great vid about their friendship. To me, it defeats the purpose of "finding out" who is "greater" at this level of Muay Thai. It's anaemic, immature and "shallow" to say either is 'better' than the other. These are both Muay Thai legends and they are also good friends. There's no way either will fight all out in any competition. To have them spar with one another for a good look at all aspects of Muay Thai is already a treat in itself. Deep deep respect to both of them. 🤘💪💪💪💥🙏🙏🙏
It was pretty hard to watch. Love both these guys and it sucked seeing Saenchai hurt. These guys have inspired so many fighters fighting today. Huge respect.
These are both GOATs for their own reasons. It was a great match up. They both gave it their all, as you'd expect, from 2 fighters that have souch respect for each other.
If Buakaw is missing anything in skill, he makes up for it with his steel-like endurance and power. Saenchai prob has a bit more skill but that is one of many factors
No, buakaw in his prime was totally different from Sae on his prime You can't see buakaw technic cause this is not for amateur but in fact buakaw outclass sea in skill
To me the superior video GOAT is you Lawrence Kenshin! Your analysis and breakdown of these fights is just amazing. But now If I had to chose between Saenchai and Buakaw, I would say Buakaw because he rarely loses his balance. He is very strong.
it was a great fight , this would have been the outcome any time they would have fought , Buakaw just has a much more aggressive dangerous style , but both of these guys are absolute legends and are in amazing condition ...what a good fight
Even though Saenchai said that he doesn't want people to think that it's about the size, but fact is that size did matter a lot in this fight.. especially when they both are at the top, plus you are best friend (meaning they know each others very well) Great video.. funny and a bit sad though😂
Saenchai doesn't just lose to size difference, it was Buakaw's equally exceptional skill that gave him the upper hand, and the size and strength gap just sealed the deal
Epic video, thank you LK ! Obviously impossible to choose a side in this case, they are both incredible fighters with each their way to express their mastery. Glad they won't fight each other again though, I prefer watching them having fun together, and I think Buakaw was a going a little too hard on Saenchai. Cheers
@@bunmeng007 I don't think it was that competitive of a fight when both are over 40 years old and both have achieved incredible careers. I expected a kind of rough sparring, but I was definitely surprised when Buakaw landed the headkick. He even apologized for it. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed watching them fight, but as I said they are friends and they are fighters, you never know when the fighter instinct is going to kick in, and what is going to happen when it does. Fighting each other was good, having fun together for years to come is better. My 2 cents anyway, totally subjective and you can disagree no problem.
I see a lot of excuses being made here for saenchai. Buakaw’s constant pressure style doesn’t allow for all of that cute wizardry that saenchai uses. The truth is, Buakaw took it easy on him. Had Saenchai not been one of his close friends. He would have been KO’d, plain and simple.
Both are GOATs. From years of friendship they knew each others styles very well. Buakaw had the edge in physicality and age plus Buakaw's familiarity with Saenchai's tricks plays in his favor as well. Saenchai was very game and full of heart to take these disadvantages and still produce a treat to all watchers. Big heart to both fighters.
I don't know much about muay thai, but as far as I hear, Saenchai is considered far more decorated, fighting up in weight just to find competition, etc. Whereas Buakaw is a kickboxing legend and star from what he did in K-1, and perhaps more famous globally for the exposure that granted him.
Saenchai is too kind and playful to hit as hard as Buakaw, nor is his body built as strong, but his wisdom and skills are top of the top. They can't bully each other when serious like they can just about any other person. Buakaw and Saenchai are so close in ability the main difference is how they are as people, you may have a favorite but both earned #1 so it's a matter of opinion
Saenchai is not kind, he is an entertainer. If he just went for the kill from the first bell, his fights would likely end sooner, which is bad for gambling. What gets me is that that thin veneer drops when someone gives him the slightest bit of cheek in return. If/when he is no longer the greatest in the world, that pettiness will hopefully disappear too. I really want to like him as a fighter but always find myself routing against him, only due to his temper and disrespect to everyone who is worse than him. He can play, you can't.
@@deuceohnegative Man in a fight if someone taunts it is good strategy to get more serious and level headed to see thru it, it just looks angry from our perspective, it is clear he can take a joke but he still may not be ur type of personality and that is ok too.
With my classic muay Thai style. The knee comes through the heel. The toes stand through the fist. The middle arch of the foot is counter to the hips and waist. Inside foot is hips. Outside foot is waist. Not ready for real sparring until achieving inside outside footwork is fast enough for running.
Buakaw is a skilled and one of the goats but the size does play a big a factor in this fight. Saenchai is a respectful legend for not bringing up the size difference. No doubt Buakaw won this fight
I saw him fighting in Italy about 19-20 years ago when he was young. I was always struck by the intelligence with which he faced his opponents. What a great fighter..!
Saenchai lo tomo más como un partido de amigos, falló varios codos de manera intencional. Por ej, en el 2do round. Son grandes amigos, ambos unos referentes históricos. Bendiciones, aprendí mucho de esta batalla
The best answer is : both the goats ! We will loose so much, the day they will stop fighting... and they gave us so much pleasure all those years. Forever the two best fighters and ever ❤

It's just so great that they're friends and brought Muay Thai to the world together - especially Buakow in the prime of K1. They literally play footie, go to the gym and saunas together. They're just great dudes who've paid their dues (and then some) and deserve to enjoy their respective legacies and each other
Thanks LK, I really enjoy your vids, and I can’t get enough Saenchi/Buakaw content.
I was there! So cool 😎
Buakaws entrance was epic lol
What saw is two brothers playing and it's heartwarming +entertaining too
Loved the way you fill everything about them, they are genuinely amazing people and your humor connects everything 😅 enjoyed your video 🤍🤍🤍
Awesome respect shown towards each other. All I see is 2 brothers rough housing and just living their best lives.
2 Legends and great people,, love ther seminars
Amazing true sportsman spirit for both guys, Saenchai is a legend, Buakaw is the GOAT
Refreshing to see respect between these two legends. Compare this with UFC's trash-talk galore...
I love them both, but felt so bad for them in the fight. Bare nuckle fight with your best friend😢
Both of these two have amazing skills, perhaps saenchai slightly more so (at least more theatrical skills), but, the skills in combination with the physique and raw power of Buakaw is soo impressive.
It feels like Saenchais words were to the Thai spectators and from his heart - as far as I understand the history, Buakaw could have been a GOAT at lumpinee but got screwed, or at the very least, the bad split with por pramuk removed his chances in Thailand.
❤
He was rank #1 contender when he went to k1!
WHAT!? I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS HAPPENED!? I LOVE THAT THIS HAPPENED. THANK YOU FOR SHARING.
🙏
There's no way either will fight
all out in any competition. To have them spar with one another for a good look at all aspects
of Muay Thai is already a treat in itself.
Deep deep respect to both of them. 🤘💪💪💪💥🙏🙏🙏
However However even if they have Beautiful But because of skill
This was an awesome breakdown.
Thank you
Kinda has Dieselnoi vs. Samart vibes. Crazy that this fight happened.
🔥
It was pretty hard to watch. Love both these guys and it sucked seeing Saenchai hurt. These guys have inspired so many fighters fighting today. Huge respect.
What a pair of legends. Have really enjoyed watching both of them.
Amazing fight and fighters, both legends. Their moments and friendship are also beautiful to see, great humans enjoying their lives
These are both GOATs for their own reasons. It was a great match up. They both gave it their all, as you'd expect, from 2 fighters that have souch respect for each other.
Both these guys are legends in their own right.
If Buakaw is missing anything in skill, he makes up for it with his steel-like endurance and power. Saenchai prob has a bit more skill but that is one of many factors
No, buakaw in his prime was totally different from Sae on his prime
You can't see buakaw technic cause this is not for amateur but in fact buakaw outclass sea in skill
That Buakaw is and was a MONSTER!!!!!
On top of the world!!!!! Much respect to him as a person with a big heart and as an incredible fighter!!!!!❤
This was a banger Lawrence Kenshin. ❤
Even though Saenchai said that he doesn't want people to think that it's about the size, but fact is that size did matter a lot in this fight.. especially when they both are at the top, plus you are best friend (meaning they know each others very well)
Great video.. funny and a bit sad though😂
Saenchai doesn't just lose to size difference, it was Buakaw's equally exceptional skill that gave him the upper hand, and the size and strength gap just sealed the deal
Dont cry
@@ardianar3835 Oh honey.. go back to watch your cartoons where size doesn't matter in the fight, martial arts are for adults
@@ardianar3835 I don't cry for anime like you bro, I shed man's tear 😅
Epic video, thank you LK ! Obviously impossible to choose a side in this case, they are both incredible fighters with each their way to express their mastery. Glad they won't fight each other again though, I prefer watching them having fun together, and I think Buakaw was a going a little too hard on Saenchai. Cheers
❤️❤️
It’s competitive fight. Going too hard??? Wdym
Those sparring shenanigans were legitimately hilarious
omg Saenchai doing a running kick from behind and just bouncing off Buakaws turned back instead i'm dead☠.
The sportsmanship and the respect is what gets me the most, i really do like that in athletes but it is rare.
"real" a real pay day
But glad they did it but it wasn't like a full on try to take eachother out fight
I see a lot of excuses being made here for saenchai. Buakaw’s constant pressure style doesn’t allow for all of that cute wizardry that saenchai uses. The truth is, Buakaw took it easy on him. Had Saenchai not been one of his close friends. He would have been KO’d, plain and simple.
vid itself is good enough but your deadpan narration is what makes this hilarious. "oil checks him into submission" lmao
This was pretty awesome. Those two are just great together..had me smiling through most of this video. Good work!
If you didnt know these guys were in their 40s youd never guess. Awesome fighters, awesome skill
We are all very fortunate to have the chance to watch these two master’s career.
You put up one of the best .uay thai videos ever
I respect them both fighters 💚👍 hugs and love 😘 to ya both fighters ❤👍
Buakaw is a skilled and one of the goats but the size does play a big a factor in this fight. Saenchai is a respectful legend for not bringing up the size difference. No doubt Buakaw won this fight
These are real men in every sense of the word.
Loving the peanut emoticon... nice touch. :P
Both are still the MT Legends in history for good. Both are humble n with great respect 👍🥊🥊
I never thought to see them both actually fight each other in the ring
Respect and love these Two Legends!
Love these two. True class and sportsmanship
I saw him fighting in Italy about 19-20 years ago when he was young. I was always struck by the intelligence with which he faced his opponents. What a great fighter..!
Yes I’m writing about Senchai…
Buakaw All Day long. Diffrent fighters we cant compare my friends Buakaw is smartest
Buakaw as the perfect physic for Muay Thai
Like Goku vs Krillin.. Awesome Guys. Loved the respect
Saenchai lo tomo más como un partido de amigos, falló varios codos de manera intencional. Por ej, en el 2do round.
Son grandes amigos, ambos unos referentes históricos. Bendiciones, aprendí mucho de esta batalla
True Warriors! Worthy of ALL RESPECT!
Saenchai looked like he is slowing down. Buakaw looked lean and mean. props to both
Great video !!
Thank you
Both are legendary fighters.
My favourite is Baukaw👍
My God, I can't believe I missed this fight breakdown.
2 of the best.. in different ways
From the words of Lawerence, Buakaw represents Muay Thai while Sanechi represents the respect and discipline of Muay Thai.
They are friends and will never fight all out. So that fight was an act of respect for one another.
That fight was like a tank Vs a wizard. Both where amazing non the less
Nice friendly fight, love them both. Legends
Wow... Such AMAZING fighters.
11:30 that knee jam I’ve seen done in ong bak 1 by Tony jaa. Apparently it’s from Muay Boran so pretty cool
The best answer is : both the goats ! We will loose so much, the day they will stop fighting... and they gave us so much pleasure all those years. Forever the two best fighters and ever ❤
