    Don't do that way. First remove the front cover and then the back cover. When you have removed the front cover you can see the back clips and use a small screwdriver to unlock then and remove the back easily. This guy has broken that grips of the back cover opening this way.

    Qual é a diferença entre o modelo D01100SCN , D01100SCF ou modelo D01100P ? Todos servem no kindle 4 ?

    • @oldniustuff
      @oldniustuff  7 місяців тому +1

      Nao sei qual a differenca. Nunca vi esses modelos com as letras no final, talvez sejam submodelos. O meu na parte de tras so tem D01100. Penso que o ecra serve para qualquer submodelo do kindle 4.

    I removed the lcd way easier using a guitar string after I heated the glue, just find a way to hold the kindle in place and get the string bellow the lcd from a corner.

      There might be a quicker way to replace the screen 😅I ordered some heating tool, i will try to make a video on this, to see if it can be done quicker and without a mess.

    What is the cause of the screen going like this. Mine is like that too. 3/4 ok. But the last 1/4 gone. Any advice?

    • @oldniustuff
      @oldniustuff  11 місяців тому

      From what I know its broken, when some more extra force is applied on the screen it can cause this. It happen for me having it in the bag pack too tight with some books. It might be something else too, but not aware of anything else.

    Hi! It seems like the new screen reflects the ligth more than de old did. Was the old one a paperwhite and the new one wasn't?

    • @oldniustuff
      @oldniustuff  3 роки тому

      I forgot to take of the protective layer, that is why was reflecting more light :) I removed it later and I didn't notice any difference with the old one (mention in the video at 1:03:30).

    I'm in the middle of doing this screen replacement myself and removing the old screen piece by piece is taking forever. I'm doing some digging to see if there's a better way to do it, but it looks like just slowly chipping away at it is the best :(

    • @oldniustuff
      @oldniustuff  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, its quite a pain, i still didn't do the part 2, because was hopping to find a way to remove it without making a mess.

      I have to wonder if a heat gun or hot pack (like iFixit iOpener) could be used.

    • @oldniustuff
      @oldniustuff  4 роки тому

      @@kbhasi a heat gun i think it will help but in that case we need to remove the battery as well, otherwise it will overheat it. The hot pack might help as well only thing is that it will need to be heated several times since it doesn't cover all the screen in one go.
      Thanks for the suggestions i probably will try them.

      I didn't think about that. However, I hope it doesn't melt the midframe.

      @@kbhasi From what i recall when i disassemble it the mid-frame was quite sturdy, i think it wouldn't melt before the screen. Anyway i think the best is to keep constant warm temperature instead of very high temperature.

    Hello greetings, I have a kindle Paperwhite 2 which charges normally and its screen does not have any apparent failure, but it turns out that when trying to turn it on the screen remains blank and illuminated, when resetting and doing hard reset it shows me the screen of the child in the tree but nevertheless it turns white again and remains like this with the light on the screen until it is completely discharged, I realized that when loading and removing the cable the green led remained on, what do you think it could be? Based on the latter, could it be that the button is faulty and remains closing the circuit? or something else?
