we need better marketing, before 5ish years ago I had hardly known about the a league. To get a better atmosphere at games we need more people and to get more people we need a better atmosphere and game, it’s on the rise and I hope we can get it to a properly respectable league

Right now the A League is such a good product it is just so disappointing that the crowds are so bad ONLY 7,000 for a Melbourne Derby. Letting Western United in ahead of South Melbourne was such a stupid decision. STH clearly have a bigger following. They also need to stop playing in such big Stadiums Marvel holds 58,000 which is way to big for A-League now it used to be ok when the Victory could pull a crowd but now it just looks stupid. They should play matches at smaller grounds like Bob Jane Stadium, Knights Stadium or even Ikon Park. AAMI Park and Marvel are just too big now.

@@thetrashman3129 South Melbourne have lots of fans, there are a lot of NSL fans who are angry their clubs cannot get in while jokes of teams pull tiny crowds. I am not the only angry soccer fan in Australia.
@Steff left How many attuned Port Adelaide VS Norwood or West Adelaide in 1996? A lot less than the average home crowd of over 38,000 who attended their homes games in the AFL in 1997. South Melbourne Fans are the same as Port Adelaide Fans they ONLY want to watch the Top Tier NOBODY wants to watch the 2nd Tier. That is also the reason why the Richmond VFL team who play in the 2nd Tier draw crowds of under 1,000 for their home matches despite the fact that they have 100,000 Members. By your logic Richmond's poor VFL/2nd Tier crowds mean they have no fans.
The glory days of the A League really are over ONLY 7,000 people attending a Derby. That is less than what would attend a Carlton VS South Melbourne Derby at Ikon Park or a Knights VS South Melbourne Derby at STH Melb. 25 years ago. It makes no sense at all for the FFA to continue to not allow South Melbourne to join the A League LOL or at this point even the Melbourne Knights. The FFA has lost the plot.

Even as a victory fan regardless of the result it was great theatre, no one would have expected western United to score at the death keeping in mind victory had 20 solid minutes of attacking towards the end

Do you remember when people said AAMI Park was too small for the Victory. LOL now when the Victory play their they close half the Stadium.
@@darkdr1fter Marvel holds 56,000 they were allowed more than 7k. Half the top tier was closed. They could of safely had more than 7k there last night. The Leauge was in decline long before COVID. Do you not remember Victory getting crowds of 40k at Marvel LOL and people saying AAMI Park was too Small for the Victory.

No, I like how they are Creating new clubs specifically for the A-League. Hints why the NSL was abolished, FFA wanted to go a new direction in Australian Soccer. Wait until we establish 4 more teams (Gold Coast, Canberra, Nth Queensland, Tasmania) then create a 2nd tier tournament

ONLY 7,190 attended this epic match. Western United are a joke they cannot pull a crowd. It should of been South Melbourne who won that licence. Victory VS South Melbourne would get way more than 7,190.

@@SamDoesGamez No it was not Marvel HOLDS 56,000 they were allowed 50% of the Stadium Capacity which would of been 28,000. Either way they get nowhere no to selling it out. Western United simply cannot pull a crowd. South Melbourne have a much bigger supporter base.
