More Pantera...they literally don't have a bad song. You'll never be disappointed. Groove Metal.
I mean if I had to choose ONE bad Pantera song, it'd be 'Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills'. Absolutely amazing album, but kind of a 6/10 song on its' own.
You all forget about glam days, because all of their glam albums was just kinda copy of most famous glam bands. (I tell about first 3 albums, not about Power Metal (really great album)).
@@jdmaine51084 Funny you say that, a lot of people do. Personally I love it lol. They've said it was them in the studio all fucked up, stoned off their ass and drunk. I love the lyrics. Far Beyond Driven is hands down my favorite album of all time. Man, if I had to pick one song....IDK, it be off Vulgar. Sometimes I skip Regular People or Rise. I prefer Pantera when they got dark.

To answer your question, the writing process can be vastly different from band to band. When it comes to Pantera, Dime was the only guitarist and he was an incredibly talented (one of the greatest) writer of riffs and structuring guitar parts. He had full license to write whatever he could think of and bring it to the band, especially since he founded the band with his brother (drummer, Vincent). Philip wrote most of the lyrics and the occasional riff, but Dime was the main factor in writing the music. The whole band played a part in the writing though. In some bands only one person writes everything. In others, one guy writes all the music and another writes all the lyrics. It just varies

I have always thought those 2 bands were not for me, but I was so sooo WRONG!!! The Dimebag solo in The Sleep make me cry every time......

Welcome to the club! Pantera are one of the greats for sure. Slayer is no slouch either! They were a big influence on Pantera and Philip Anselmo in particular

Hey Drew great reaction to the Sleep From Pantera . You should think about doing reactions to the Warning their a great Metal Band . Dust to Dust live from Cdmx is very good.
Dime and Vinnie started the band so he could pretty much do whatever he wanted. They prided themselves on having an absolute legend on guitar so he had free reign. I'm sure they collaborated but like you said, they were just like "do your thing, brother" I started watching them as a club band in Dallas and will die a Pantera fan. Much respect, thanks for the reaction.
Full artistic freedom. They literally grew up in a recording studio. Their dad was a country and blues songwriter and owned a recording studio. They recorded these songs in that studio. Was sent somewhere to be mastered

i like the way you are approaching pantera. my all time fav band, was lucky enough to see them a few times. next song should be cowboys from hell then fucking hostile and this love off of vulgar display of power. do a few from each album as they were released to see how they progressed as a band. slaughtered and 25 years from far beyond driven. floods is a must when you get to the great southern trend kill. been listening to pantera for 20+ years so if you want any suggestions feel free to ask. great reaction as always

There literally is no bad song from PanterA - the best band ever! You should DEFINITELY check out "It makes them disappear" from their last album. Not one of the most known songs, but it has an insane groove! Keep it up, your energy is really cool! I actually don't like reaction videos because people are often fake and overexaggerate their emotions, but you sir seem genuine :) btw. EXTRA points for spontaneous reactions to particular moments in Dime's solos, I react exactly the same way, on the exact notes. Recognize!
I'm on my lunch break at work, trying not to cry, listening to that solo, neither of those boys should be next to each other in the ground!! Its so fucking sad!!!

Great band, song & reaction. In relative terms an underrated song & not often reviewed/reacted too but great nonetheless. As mentioned in previous comments, you can't go wrong with Pantera, post 1990 they haven't done a bad song.
One of Dimebags best solos....i think the one on "Well meet again" is his best one.

did not see the video yet but freakin awesome choice. the other channels i usualy see are stucked in.. dunno how to describe. "new age heavy metal" and dont know a fuck about most bands or dont like.. everybody does their 3 or 4 metallica songs, megadeth, couple more and that's the thrash metal they will ever know while it is a big universe

Pantera is not really a "slow" band. The songs you've listened to are. Listen to Fucking Hostile, Art of Shredding, Suicide Note Part II, Death Rattle, Hellbound, War Nerve, Use My Third Arm, Yesterday Don't Mean Shit, 13 Steps to Nowhere, Slaughtered, Strength Beyond Strength, Heresy, or Shattered. Those are not "slow." They all have a groove, though. Pantera is not a one-trick pony.
Do "Fucking Hostile". It won't be slow. I actually broke a bottle on my head and carved Hostile into my arm
