I mean if I had to choose ONE bad Pantera song, it'd be 'Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills'. Absolutely amazing album, but kind of a 6/10 song on its' own.
You all forget about glam days, because all of their glam albums was just kinda copy of most famous glam bands. (I tell about first 3 albums, not about Power Metal (really great album)).
@@jdmaine51084 Funny you say that, a lot of people do. Personally I love it lol. They've said it was them in the studio all fucked up, stoned off their ass and drunk. I love the lyrics. Far Beyond Driven is hands down my favorite album of all time. Man, if I had to pick one song....IDK, it be off Vulgar. Sometimes I skip Regular People or Rise. I prefer Pantera when they got dark.
Do Floods - but make sure to be careful about which version you watch! The most watched version on youtube has several parts where it skips forward 2-3 seconds during the solo!!
To answer your question, the writing process can be vastly different from band to band. When it comes to Pantera, Dime was the only guitarist and he was an incredibly talented (one of the greatest) writer of riffs and structuring guitar parts. He had full license to write whatever he could think of and bring it to the band, especially since he founded the band with his brother (drummer, Vincent). Philip wrote most of the lyrics and the occasional riff, but Dime was the main factor in writing the music. The whole band played a part in the writing though. In some bands only one person writes everything. In others, one guy writes all the music and another writes all the lyrics. It just varies
Another fantastic song or, actually pairing of songs you should hear, are Suicide Note Part 1 and 2. They both are very different from one another but it only makes sense to listen to them together. Thanks.
I'm a metalhead since 20 years, and I'm ashamed to say that.............I only recently began to listen (and LOOOOOOVE!!) Pantera (and Slayer to!)........ I have always thought those 2 bands were not for me, but I was so sooo WRONG!!! The Dimebag solo in The Sleep make me cry every time...... Please, react to more Pantera (your reaction with Domination Live was awesome!!)! And you should try Slayer to (begin with some...uh...."accessible" songs, like: South of Heaven, or Dead skin mask, or Season in the Abyss. Then you will be ready for ..... Raining Blood or Angel of Death! Maybe you will love it....or hate it!) Kisses from France!
Welcome to the club! Pantera are one of the greats for sure. Slayer is no slouch either! They were a big influence on Pantera and Philip Anselmo in particular
Pantera is not really a "slow" band. The songs you've listened to are. Listen to Fucking Hostile, Art of Shredding, Suicide Note Part II, Death Rattle, Hellbound, War Nerve, Use My Third Arm, Yesterday Don't Mean Shit, 13 Steps to Nowhere, Slaughtered, Strength Beyond Strength, Heresy, or Shattered. Those are not "slow." They all have a groove, though. Pantera is not a one-trick pony.
Hey Drew great reaction to the Sleep From Pantera . You should think about doing reactions to the Warning their a great Metal Band . Dust to Dust live from Cdmx is very good.
i like the way you are approaching pantera. my all time fav band, was lucky enough to see them a few times. next song should be cowboys from hell then fucking hostile and this love off of vulgar display of power. do a few from each album as they were released to see how they progressed as a band. slaughtered and 25 years from far beyond driven. floods is a must when you get to the great southern trend kill. been listening to pantera for 20+ years so if you want any suggestions feel free to ask. great reaction as always
Full artistic freedom. They literally grew up in a recording studio. Their dad was a country and blues songwriter and owned a recording studio. They recorded these songs in that studio. Was sent somewhere to be mastered
There literally is no bad song from PanterA - the best band ever! You should DEFINITELY check out "It makes them disappear" from their last album. Not one of the most known songs, but it has an insane groove! Keep it up, your energy is really cool! I actually don't like reaction videos because people are often fake and overexaggerate their emotions, but you sir seem genuine :) btw. EXTRA points for spontaneous reactions to particular moments in Dime's solos, I react exactly the same way, on the exact notes. Recognize!
Dime and Vinnie started the band so he could pretty much do whatever he wanted. They prided themselves on having an absolute legend on guitar so he had free reign. I'm sure they collaborated but like you said, they were just like "do your thing, brother" I started watching them as a club band in Dallas and will die a Pantera fan. Much respect, thanks for the reaction.
I'm on my lunch break at work, trying not to cry, listening to that solo, neither of those boys should be next to each other in the ground!! Its so fucking sad!!!
Great band, song & reaction. In relative terms an underrated song & not often reviewed/reacted too but great nonetheless. As mentioned in previous comments, you can't go wrong with Pantera, post 1990 they haven't done a bad song.
We'll check this out I'll help you a little bit Pantera was started by Dimebag Darrell the guitarist and his brother Vinnie Paul plays drums Their father Was it musician Dimebag Darrell Would go go sit in his room playing guitar His brother Vinny said when he came back out He was perfect Dimebag Darrell Vinnie Paul Started Pantera It was their band to do what they wanted
It's been fuckin years since I heard this song fuckin amazing cowboys from hell is a great album but I prefer vulgar display of power myself but all the album's are fuckin amazing RIP the Abbott brothers
did not see the video yet but freakin awesome choice. the other channels i usualy see are stucked in.. dunno how to describe. "new age heavy metal" and dont know a fuck about most bands or dont like.. everybody does their 3 or 4 metallica songs, megadeth, couple more and that's the thrash metal they will ever know while it is a big universe
I guarantee that if you reacted to every Pantera song from Cowboys From Hell, Vulgar Display of Power, Far Beyond Driven, Great Southern Trendkill, and Reinventing the Steel, There won't be a song you completely dislike. Guaranteed.
Thank you for reacting to something else besides the same damn Pantera songs. Pantera has so many great songs that nobody ever recommends. My all time favorite band, rock on 🤘🏻 🤘🏻
Strange song choice, there are much better choices for someone who has only just started listening to pantera. (Im broken, 5 minutes alone, cowboys from hell, pretty much anything off of vulgar display, shedding skin, underground in america, this love)
Thanks for this bro! You have to do Floods for sure but I would suggest 3 more underrated songs by them (in their glam metal era) with insane solos Heart Worn Highway (Rebell Meets Rebell) Over And Out We'll Meet Again
More Pantera...they literally don't have a bad song. You'll never be disappointed. Groove Metal.

@Metal up your ass their “Glam” days are fucking amazing. Amazing guitar work and catchy songs, for one “come on eyes” is one of dimes best solos
This is definitely one of Dime's best solos.
Gabriel Valles next to We’ll Meet Again. At least for me🤘🏽🤘🏽
He makes the guitar scream for mercy
Agreed truley underrated song for this album too.
totally agree
Killer killer solos.. Dime is my hero. Fuckin miss him everyday.
His tone alone killed every guitarist. His solos second to none❤️
Jerry Cantrell and Dime had the 2 best tones. Only right that they were close friends.
Do Floods - but make sure to be careful about which version you watch! The most watched version on youtube has several parts where it skips forward 2-3 seconds during the solo!!
Yes! Best Dime solo ever. As stated make sure to get a good UA-cam video without skips.
Spot on dude! Everyone always reacts to the dodgy version
Pantera - Shedding Skin
The fight continues....
Integrity101 I won’t give up
That is a great suggestion.
That riff tho....

I don't see any reactions for the band Fear Factory, you might try the song "Demanufacture" or the song "Shock"
fear factory hell yeah
Absolutley, dont know why more channels don't react to FF. I also never see anyone react to Machine Head, anything from Burn My Eyes is class.
Hey man, thanks for taking the time to organize the playlist for us. Keep on keeping on!
This song always gives me chills. Definitely one of Pantera’s best. Awesome video! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

great reaction as always i hope to react to pantera mouth for war
Good observations. Pantera is considered "groove metal," which is basically thrash but with a slower pace.
I'm a metalhead since 20 years, and I'm ashamed to say that.............I only recently began to listen (and LOOOOOOVE!!) Pantera (and Slayer to!)........
