This fight should change how fighters approach defending themselves from being put on the ground and being thrown. Holding the opponent to restrict their ability to strike and earn more makes complete sense as you can see it in Jiu Jitsu and Judo’s Newaza (which Jiu Jitsu is from). Wonder if this will change the value that is placed on throws itself. Or I just have no idea wtf I’m talking about and looking way too into it. I’d like to see the fighters use the footwork to create more angles though as that’s one thing that I do like about Point karate; the excellent balance, and fast dynamic footwork to get a better position for scoring points.
Are thigh kicks allowed? If so I’m amazed fighters don’t take advantage of those long stances with that front leg begging to be attacked… perhaps it’s just cos I’m a Kyokushin fighter…
As low level as these fights are its shows how much point based fights have diluted fighting in karate. We can learn a lot from these fights attitude wise and combat wise. P.s. iv seen a lot of low kicks (only throwing them cus they feel like they are hitting something low risk but they actually dont do much) but iv not actually seen sweep and leg pulls? Why not ?????
I like how they fight in a pit
Point fighting has ruined karate
This should help fix it

Awesome!
It looks like Gabriel is attempting to apply the shotokan point based style in an actual fight, hence the immense amount of hesitation. Fascinating 🤔

Calf kicks are, thigh kicks aren’t.
A kyokushin fighter will own it

I'm very disappointed. All fights are on low level , people can fight on this level in any karate club. Unsubscribed.
Ssshhhhh
What would be a high level fight for you?
