We had a 1948 silverside that we bought from a.man in San Francisco, Cal, We drove that bus for many years We had a singing group that toured the U S A, I was really hard to Learn to shift,We had to get and older guy from Greyhound to show us how to drive it,We had it painted and new tires,Sold it in Hohenwald Tn to another group.Wish we still had it,You brings back great memories,Keep posting,Thanks
I like it. You designed and built it all yourself. Just a very few selected RV items. I like the drawer locks. That is well worth the effort. You always see them tossing their contents on rough roads, flying open and breaking the cabinets, then Duck Tape-the final solution. Thank you for the tour of your bus. I was wondering about it.
that "Power Drawer Lock" system you have is absolute genius! if the mainstream RV manufacturers made a system like that, they would probably make it a $1000 premium option that's only available on their top of the line models.
I had a Coachmen truck camper several years ago, and there is NOTHING more aggrivating than opening the door and finding broken dishes smashed all over the floor after driving ten hours. Sure wish I would have thought of that setup!
out of all the videos i’ve watched, i never saw the inside of your bus..... i think what i like besides the mechanics of your channel is just seeing how people design their buses or Rv’s and the different setups they have.... keep doing this cause i enjoy seeing it all!!!🚎😂
No gaudy fabric, no fiber press board, nothing overdone. I have a feeling you really thought this through. I would call this style "Distilled". And at no time do you forget this is a bus. Great job.
Thank you for the guided tour of your home away from home. I can hear people across the country buzzing about finding a vintage bus. Were it not for the very near eventuality of losing my eyesight, my wife and I would have one. But we can live vicariously through your eyes, travels and experiences. Thanks again.
Simple functional and clean design. You can't ask for any better than that. I was an OTR trucker for 18 years and I always tried to set my sleeper berth up in a similar way.Everything had a place and a purpose and I utilized as much space as I could with the use of shelves, baskets ect.
Your Second Home and your Channel are both AMAZING! Thank you for allowing us a tour of of it! I am not "into buses" but I genuinely enjoy your content! A lot of it has to do with you and and your personable nature and your AMAZING work ethic. Kelly is an AMAZING behind the scenes "do it all" Lady!! She seems be the model that the "behind every good man is a great woman" saying was made from!! I have surprised myself how addicted I have become to your channel?! I am a very mechanical guy so I find the different issues you run into and the "weight" of the work you do fascinating!!!! Keep up the great channel and I believe that by some point, I will probably have watched 80% of all your videos! Take care!
I love the bus and the style that it has and it seems like a great place to call home. I live in my Class A but the more I watch your videos=, the more I want a buss and to make it in my own style. I can not get enough of the vids and hope to one day catch up with you and be a helper. I could learn alot from you. Thanks again and keep those rescues and buss fix vids coming.
wow, I just stummbled across one of your videos last weekend. I love it. I use to work on 671's in the navy on our liberty boats back in 1979,now I'm a school bus mechanic. This is right up my alley. Wish I could find one somewhere to fix up. Thanks....Doug
Just came aboard you channel a couple of months ago. You do great work. I can remember riding on a Greyhound bus close to this vintage in the early 50's with my family when we lived in Stockton, CA on trips to San Francisco for family visits. Enjoy watching how you get er done when most folks would give it up. Like removing that broken bolt on the engine mount with just about zero room to work. The modified crows foot wrench did it, but like I say, a lot of folks would have not have managed to get it out. Amazing work you do. Keep up the good work. I'll continue watching. A retired marine machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard where some of the finest Submarine overhauls and refueling jobs are accomplished.
i am not a mechanic..have no idea of what he is fixing most of the time, but as a medical student i took a bus every other weekend back and forth to see my family and then back to school..and on the two hour trip i could relax, read..study or just plain people watch and dwell on my upcoming grind..so here i am..and enjoying these videos..BGM is so under rated..a great guy..fantastic work ethic and giving to help others with their dreams...so yea..cool stuff ..
8-55 to 9-44 I absolutely love this, 30+ years as a custom cabinet maker and I have never seen anything quite like it, atleast not electrically operated, brilliant
Enjoy how you have repurposed everything in a smart and economical fashion . Very appropriate ! I wish more folks would use equal creative approach to repurposing older machines that have exceeded their design life .
Simple, yet very adaptable to on the road living. Vintage, yet updated with nice subtle touches Rugged enough for a mechanic, yet comfortable enough for spouse going away for a week (or two... LoL) I like it. You packed allot into a 35' x 8' piece of real estate!
Great look at your bus as I often wondered what it was like. Of course it looks like it was put together by a mechanic. lol I don't know if I ever rode a "silverside" but in 1956 I rode from Chicagoland to Tomah Wi. several times visiting my friends when I was a kid. I was surprised my folks let me do it. The busses amazed me at the time. The Greyhounds had a stop at the local Hotel in Tomah at the time. I used to ride my bike by there and the busses were running and I thought that was a such a wonderful sound. Love your channel, Lee
Really like your bus. like the industrial look. I'm in California just a few hours from burning man although I've never been. maybe I need to go up to Nevada and see what's going on. Thanks again for the tour.
Very clever tips and solutions. The bedroom is suprinsingly roomy and loved the big ass fridge, nothing of those rv small fridges. Those buses make good RVs
Hate our small RV fridge but since we have a toy hauler we put a vertical deep freezer in the back and also use coolers for the drinks and bottled items.
Brilliant ! Very well thought out , especially the bathroom, saves space where space is a premium! That's exactly how I would want my bus laid out if I had one. A mechanic has everything worked out in a very practical manor. Thanks for the tour Scott, I'm a fan. I think it's wonderful how you and your son work together , a great example for other fathers out there. Keep up the good work.
Enjoyed the tour. When I saw the bus at the Dunn Benson drag-way, I chose not to invade Kelly's space, but now I have seen it. My favorite feature on the tour was the desk tailgate. I really love the desk.
You did an amazing job on your bus. I could certainly enjoy traveling in that. You and your wife must really enjoy seeing our beautiful country together. I think it's awesome she travels with you. I so enjoy your videos thank you for sharing your life with everyone. 🥰
I have the same small toy bus (6 wheeler ). I haven't very seen another one ...a favorite from childhood!! ...shocking to see that !! Thanks for the walk through !! Fun !!
Very cleverly designed. Industrial elegance. I imagine makes working on the road worth it. Nice comfy place to come home to after busting butt on someone else's dream. Thank you for sharing and God Bless from Florida.
That's mighty cool. I especially like the drawer latching system you came up with. I know of a lot of other RV owners who are trying to find a way to keep their drawers from flying open when they are moving and I shall do my best to share this with them. Neat bus. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
Wow, that was a mighty detailed tour. Thanks !! The only thing you skipped (and it was eating me the whole time) was the secret to the door handle, and how you can activate or not active the slide-out step for those embarking or disembarking. I thought maybe you were going to show us (you mentioned that you do something different with the handle to make the slide-out not slide out). Then I thought you were going to show us on the return to the front as the tour was wrapping up. Then you didn't show the secret door handle technique. I'm crushed. Ruined. Destroyed. My weekend is shot. Life is over :) But perhaps I'll get over it :)
Yeah Scott, how do you open the door sans steps? That would be a good how to video. I had disabled mine, but I needed to get it back to original for some (OCD) reason.
Really nice home! 10 mpg on the highway I love, 3mpg in the city woah! Stay out of the city. As a Marine Surveyor here in Michigan I deal a lot with Detroit diesels they are good old engines very dependable, working on that old Chris Craft is how your videos came up. I'm a new subscriber happy travels! Really enjoy watching!
Thanks for the tour Scott. I've been wondering for some time what it looked like inside. Now I know. I like what you've done on the inside and especially the large bathroom with shower, sink, toilet combination. I bet it all works very well.
Scott, great tour. Your galley and lounge area make the bus look spacious. I have gone greyhound many times over the years and always enjoyed it. The definition of reliable transportation. I have also taken the China town bus. A couple of companies with old buses run from D.C. Chinatown to NYC Chinatown for cheap. The best way to get to Manhattan. Keep buses alive! Phil
I love it ! Reminds me of riding greyhound from NY to LA when I was young ! Here in Europe you would have a diesel heater , (Alden or Epersbacher). The cost of propane-butane here is OK for cooking, but for heating is too expensive. Happy Travels !
Morning Scott Very pleasing on the eye You and your son have done a fantastic job ,Engine and Interior of the bus. Congratulations all the way from the UK.👍👍🍻🇬🇧
I guess that would be a historic bus, seeing as it runs quite well for its age! It's an eclectically designed interior for sure. Lot's of modern amenities, like LED lighting, AC, TV's, and solar; but loaded with whatever works best additions. I still don't see how you keep the Bus Grease off of everything after a hard day on the job, but that's another story, I'm sure!

Also I didn't know you are Vegan. That's pretty cool. I'm not sure I could do it. Although i've eaten some absolutely incredible vegan Indian food that would certainly go a long way towards helping me. if meat gets any more expensive i'm going to have to be an econo-vegetarian. lol.
I love it !!! your bus is so cool !! One day I’m going to get the bug to build one and I’m going to copy some of your ideas and add a few of my own from the marine industry .... beautiful bus !!!!! Love it!!!
Hey Scott, thanks for sharing! I always wondered what your rig looked like! Now I know. Very nice! And thank you again for sharing your work, I was always afraid to buy a vehicle with a Detroit cause there are not many mechanics left who work on them. Hopefully other people will not be intimidated. I bought a 2002 Bluebird with a Cummins a few years ago. Still working on conversion. I learn so much watching your videos. You do a great job with your video's too! Thanks again! God bless!
Great rolling apartment. The old greyhound bus is a rolling bit of history. Heads up, The B Is For Build channel just bought a twin diesel boat and needs advice on an engine issue.
Nice RV. I could live in it. I have to much stuff to live on the road though. i know others feel my pain but that's life. All you need is an acre of ground with water and septic. when you come home just pull in and you are home. I always wanted to do that but once again i have to much stuff.
My grandma has a 53 gmc 3500(i think) with a practically new 671 in it, sitting in a field. She wants to sell it but i kinda want it and so does my uncle-her son. Lol. Wpuld be kinda cool, the last gem of the old family busniess.

No gaudy fabric, no fiber press board, nothing overdone. I have a feeling you really thought this through. I would call this style "Distilled". And at no time do you forget this is a bus. Great job.
It has everything one could want or need...and nothing you don't.
I'll bet it's relitively lightweight too given the lack of tons of press board, easy chairs everywhere, etc.
@@Shane-Singleton No its REALLY heavy... because it has all of scotts tools in it haha....
Thank you for the guided tour of your home away from home. I can hear people across the country buzzing about finding a vintage bus. I like your use of space. You have a great and usable design. I don’t own a bus, but I like your channel and videos. Thanks for posting.
Your bus interior reminds me of "Brazil". But only in the best possible way. It's lovely.
This is the coolest classic bus i've seen because of the design.
8-55 to 9-44 I absolutely love this, 30+ years as a custom cabinet maker and I have never seen anything quite like it, atleast not electrically operated, brilliant

love the creative drawer lock its like file cabinet locks but electric and using the car the car door lock actuator was really creative

Good to see someone restore/repurpose vintage buses. Nice job on the build.
Classic looks, modern comforts, and a down to earth name: "Lenny" is well put together. That would be the style of bus I'd like to have someday.
Really like your bus. like the industrial look. I'm in California just a few hours from burning man although I've never been. maybe I need to go up to Nevada and see what's going on. Thanks again for the tour.

Lots of smart features in the bus, really like the bathroom, I want the same style in my home bathroom... Big thumbs up!
A very clean uncluttered look gives the impression of very large space really like the wet bath lots of room to move around. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for the tour, just found your channel recently, I might be sold on the idea of bus life.
Very cleverly designed. Industrial elegance. I imagine makes working on the road worth it. Nice comfy place to come home to after busting butt on someone else's dream. Thank you for sharing and God Bless from Florida.
Neat idea for the cabinet locks! Bus has everything you need to be self contained.
Can you see me drooling. Thanks for Tour, love the look on the inside and outside 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Electric door/ drawer lock. good idea .
Great Tour Scott.. Thanks.. " Lenny ".. The Bus that rescue's Other Buses..!!
I understand there was a Benny before Lenny came into their lives.
Love it...great bus Scott. Thinking of a '65-'66 100% Greyhound, no RV....100% original. Playtoy for myself.
Your bus is one year older than I am. Great video, I like the functionality of what you did with the bus.
Drawer locks way cool. Imma gonna steal that idea.
That's mighty cool. I especially like the drawer latching system you came up with. Loved the tour,we have that same water pump. Your Bus is really nice, Thanks for Sharing.
Finally got to see the inside. Thanks scotty. Its really nice and cozy.

Only recently discovered your videos. Awesome tour of the bus and work done to it.
Very unique and you really spent the time to make it all your own. Really, really nice Scott. Thanks for giving us a tour...
I love it ! Reminds me of riding greyhound from NY to LA when I was young ! Here in Europe you would have a diesel heater , (Alden or Epersbacher). The cost of propane-butane here is OK for cooking, but for heating is too expensive. Happy Travels !
Awesome job on the tour I was looking through your past vids for one. You one of the UA-camrs that keeps me coming back for more.
Keep em coming
I love that it's very utilitarian and most of the attention has been paid to function (Engine and etc.). Good job and love it!
Morning Scott
Very pleasing on the eye
You and your son have done a fantastic job ,Engine and Interior of the bus.
Congratulations all the way from the UK.👍👍🍻🇬🇧
Dude , I love it. Old silver Hide has everything except a ATM . lol, I do love it. Great video !!!
you did a really nice job making that bus a comfortable living space. I like the drawer locks, very ingenious!
Lenny is a very cool bus. Great Video Scott.
Not a bad way to travel, i like the look on the inside
I guess that would be a historic bus, seeing as it runs quite well for its age! It's an eclectically designed interior for sure. Lot's of modern amenities, like LED lighting, AC, TV's, and solar; but loaded with whatever works best additions. I still don't see how you keep the Bus Grease off of everything after a hard day on the job, but that's another story, I'm sure!
Very good the Bus is Rolling

Great video thank you. Those buses, not just yours, but so many of them seem to last forever. Nice going
thanks for the tour , i love it ,, very homey and uncluttered at the same time ,,and i really love the bathroom
mine is much more cluttered ,, i'm currently involved in renovating my kitchen area ,updating the cabinets a bit ,, i think i am gonna steal your electric door lock idea ,i shortened the overhead cabinet over the stove ,, I'm 6f tall and i hit my head on the cabinet 1 too many times when bending over
and i decided i hated the propane stove from the 70s ,, i found a 4 burner combo that has 2 induction burners and 2 gas burners
i like it a lot better cause it heats my cast iron skillet faster
Excellent!!! Thanks Lennie. Wish we had buses like those in South Africa.. Greetings, Albert.
Thanks for taking us aboard! Wow, what a cool way you've converted it. I really like the metal trim that matches the outside.
That was fun, thanks. I really like this conversion it’s simple and stylish. Now I want a Silverside to make into an RV!
Thanks for the tour Scott , great bus 🚎!.
Liking the all the aluminum like my Crown. Less rust issues.
A good looking bus any way you slice it. Good looks never gets old nor outdated. 💖👌👍😎
IMHO, this reminds a guy of the inside of an aircraft,
especially military. About the same vintage as the bus
type of aviation look and feel to it. Dunno if it strikes
you that way. Well done !
Great looking Bus inside and out!
Love the "Lived in Steam Punk" look of Lenny's interior! very functional as well, a nice bus. if i were to change anything Id go w/ a marine diesel heater instead of propane though!
Love the drawer locks, so fitting those on mine :)
Love the outlay and the look of your conversion
Like the bus! I’m glad you didn’t cut it up. It’s got class that won’t likely been seen in more modern bus/rv’s.
Great job! I like all your personal touches.
I LOVE my Marshal speaker also! Not cheap but the best bt speaker I've ever heard. I love your bus.
I could live in that thing forever
Lenny is a cool bus! Very clean usage of space. Those drawer latches are genius! And I dig the wet restroom concept. That saves a few square feet of floor space right there.
Also I didn't know you are Vegan. That's pretty cool. I'm not sure I could do it. Although i've eaten some absolutely incredible vegan Indian food that would certainly go a long way towards helping me. if meat gets any more expensive i'm going to have to be an econo-vegetarian. lol.
very nice bus Scott, thanks for the tour
Really cool, thanks for the tour, Kim from Canada
I just watched the completed solar project... quite an upgrade
I love it !!! your bus is so cool !! One day I’m going to get the bug to build one and I’m going to copy some of your ideas and add a few of my own from the marine industry .... beautiful bus !!!!! Love it!!!

Great looking, practical. Love the “tin” look, used similar in our trailer.
Great rolling apartment. The old greyhound bus is a rolling bit of history.
Heads up, The B Is For Build channel just bought a twin diesel boat and needs advice on an engine issue.
I would be very proud of that bus if it was mine, its a credit to you and your family. Keep up the great videos!!
Nice bus Scott. Thanks for the tour, it has a kind of art deco look to it.
Thanks for the tour Scott!! Love the way you have it set up!
Enjoyed your what we call in NZ a "Tiki tour" of your bus bro. Some great ideas put in.
Your setup is just what I would be striving for. Very cool!
Love the classics beautiful bus
Nice RV. I could live in it. I have to much stuff to live on the road though. i know others feel my pain but that's life. All you need is an acre of ground with water and septic. when you come home just pull in and you are home. I always wanted to do that but once again
