What a fun way to spend quarantine! I’m seriously considering buying a Model A. My first car was a Model A buy I sold it for college money. Dad and I restored it after I bought it for $100.00 from my Uncle. We drove it home from NJ to MD sitting on old .50 cal. ammo boxes. The soft center of the roof blew out in the middle of the Delaware Memorial Bridge! My Mom, who was following use about ran off the road laughing at us! My late wife and I dated in it and I proposed to her in it. Boy do I miss that car but not nearly as much as I miss my late wife of 47 years. She’s waiting for her in Heaven and for now, I’m reliving great memories.
Your wife would probably tell you to go buy that Model A and enjoy all the time you have left . It may be many more years or today . Nobody knows. Life is to short not to enjoy something that means so much to you and brings back great memories Go get it 👍
i had autobody work done on my car and driving down the highway, the back window blew out and landed on the fast lane. I pulled off the highway, ran down the highway, grabbed the window, which was unharmed, and wouldn't you know, the width of the window is almost exactly the width of the car. So I squeezed it in the trunk some how, with the tar on the window getting on me, the trunk etc. How it didn't cause an accident I don't know but it didn't. oh fun car memories.
Reminds me of the one and only time that grandpa took me out for a short trip in his 1931 Stutz. The looks we got from the other drivers was priceless.
My father had a 1930 model A Ford four door. In 1948, he hooked a 28 ft house trailor to the back and drove all the way to California. He did put a heavy duty truck clutch in to handle the mountains. This is a true story.
Nice video guys! I have had the pleasure of working with Model "A"'s since I was 8 years old. In 1968 my father bought a '30 Roadster (basket case). He restored it & finished it in 1971. In 1975 I bought my '30 pickup (similar to yours, but a '30). We finished it in 1986. Dad is 94 now, unfortunately, he can't drive any more due to Parkinson's but I take him for rides in each of them. We live in Arizona now and I'm gonna take him for a ride tomorrow.....I'm so grateful for my dad because he taught me the love for the Model "A" Ford....What an excellent vehicle!
Love the original model A s love the sound they make I have a 28 Tudor sedan but not original it’s a 1960s traditional hot rod. It is nice to take a old car for a drive and enjoy in today’s time we live and leave all worries for a little while. You have nice cars.

The old Ford was well known around our small Indiana town. Dad gave the "A" to me in 1995 and I've been driving it ever since; engine rebuild, new interior and regular maintenance along the way...memories! Thanks again for the happy video!
Today I took a ride in one of these it was dark olive green with the wheels exactly the same color and standard black tires instead of whitewalls and of course the famous wolf whistle feature for the nob to the right of the dashboard
Yes they say that a 31 Ford model A is the best car ever made, I would love to have one. I had a 41 dodge, very good car, I gave it away with only 45 hundred miles on the motor, and they changed the motor for something much more powerful and destroyed the car...

Saw at a army show in Canada. My mex helpers pulled a VW motor in 9 minutes. Nice talking to. I am an old mechanic and retired in Mexico for the last 47 years. Love from paradise.
My Dad used to take us kids up to the U.P. Back in the 60’s and tell of him and his Dad hunting etc. he always knew whether it was his 41 Buick, 35 Ford, or 53 Chevy PU ....... it was important to know what you drove and what to do if you had trouble along the road. He drove a 31 Model A to high school in 1943...... and used to tell me all about it .... great story and a nice Tudor 👍❤️
I'm 36 years old and i want to make a Model A daily driver. Love them cars ! Rode in my uncle's A and I was hooked . I just haven't found a good one i can afford to make a daily runner. Doesn't have to be perfect but not a basket case either. I want the family to be able to pile in and not be afraid it may get scratched or something. We already have a modern car already so I just want a big toy for me to drive. They are perfectly capable of going into town a few times a week 👍

Very true...these cars were popular with men who are now in their 80s and 90s. As young men they would buy an old example for less than $100 and hot rod or restore them. Most of them had been scrapped by the end of WW2 but enough of them survived.

I also had a 1930 tudor when I was 15. It wasn't fixed up like yours but it was in good condition and a driver. As with most people I wish I had never sold it.
When I was 5 in 1948, our family moved from Indiana to California in a 1930 four door model A Ford. We were pulling behind us a 28ft house trailer. That's the truth. They built those model Ad's to last. Only had a flat tire the whole trip.
The color of the 1930 Tudor Sedan is Copra Drab (the upper color) and Chickle Drab (lower body color). One of the several color combinations available during 1930 and 1931.
It sounds like the horn diaphragm is pitted or rusted-through. If you replaced it I think you would get a little better a tone. Make sure to paint it too as reproduction diaphragms are bare and like to rust. Love the cars! I especially love the 1931 Commercial Radiator Shell.
I know the sound is not great, but we bought it that way. I have a couple of extra horns in the shop, and we can rebuild them so they sound right. I appreciate your comment! Thanks! Tim
Reading Iococa, you find that the federal government legislated the H shift pattern, the foot throttle and I don't remember what else that made the model T illegal to make, just like federal regulations killed push button transmission and standardized automatic shift patterns in 1965. Don't ask me why I have shift paddles? I do enjoy heating and airconditioning, media availability (Sirius navigation ) adaptive speed control, stay in lane, parallel parking,etc.
Fun fact, there is not a SINGLE factory promotional photo or video of ANY Model A Ford, 1928 to 1931, wearing whitewall tires. Sorry, Ford did not sell these cars with wide white walls on them.
Nice video. Does the gas peddle have a return spring. I wondered how you can set the steering column throttle to a high setting yet using the foot it returns to low idle. I am very intrigued by these old cars. Thanks again
If you leave the column throttle in a low setting the floor pedal has a spring. If you increase the column throttle level, it increases the low limit of the spring, so the column is your new low setting. It’s kind of like old school cruise control. The floor pedal won’t release the spring if the column throttle is engaged.

Well A lot of 28s have traits or the T In Them .. id say 30-31 Had All The Later Stuff In em... but there all very very drivable., they run smoothly & Ride ok up to about 40 mph & Don’t try to climb any steep grades unless you can do them in low gear & watch the temp. But there Awsome
You Don’t need to double clutch that if you’re a good shifter. It’s one of those things you either a natural at it or are you gonna double clutching Ryan a lot of years most people double clutching grind gears.Some of the stuff he saying here is inaccurate I’m quite sure he does need to double clutch I’ve given a lot of them when you get good at it you just slide them in call float in the gears

You couldn't hurry too much since the roads were not all that great.

I'm restoring a 1928 tudor its an early one parking brake on the left. Does anybody know what color these were? Think it was a shade of green
I know someone with a late '28 A Tudor about the same color. He won best in show at an A meet here in Jacksonville back in the Nineties.

I’m sure someone makes an electronic ignition for a model A but we chose to keep ours stock.
