that song will kick ass till kingdom come......loved it on the tape, on the cd, in concert- couple of times.....and on here........WELL, BOTH SONGS. Keep kicking my ass, Elvis.
Best live version of this amazing song (Beyond Belief) I've seen on YT. It's such a perfect recording; I hadn't seen anything close to the record, but this is GREAT! "Accidents Will Happen" = awesome too. Thanks for posting!
Davey Farragher does everything that needs to be done on bass, AND he can finally add live harmonies to all of EC's songs that benefit from it so greatly! Net gain.
Bruce Thomas' playing had the energetic audacious verve that matched Steve Nieve's. His replacement is a laid back competent bass player. Big difference.
Don't sleep on Davey Faragher. I agree he's "not Bruce Thomas" but then, who is? He can play, though, and hold his own, even if he's not "re-inventing" Bruce's signature lines. As also noted, he ably contributes background vocals that Elvis himself does on the records. And, it appears he *gets along* with Elvis, so...
Bruce is superior to be sure, but Davey is far from average. Elvis got him Buddy Guy's band for crying out loud. I have a great boot of him with Jackson Browne where he sounds fantastic. What might be hanging you up is that Bruce is a wholly different *kind* of bass player. Bruce is like a lead player in the mold of Paul McCartney. Davey plays more of a supporting role, but he does it well.
I've seen EC in concert at least a dozen times, and he never fails to give it his all. Same with Pete Thomas and Steve Nieve. Love 'em all!
Totally agree! Are you gonna see them with Blondie this summer? I got my tix. Peace.
Master Lyricist.

he's not the player Bruce Thomas is. a real loss to my ears.
Cant fuck wit dat.
Bruce Thomas was twice the bass player this hack is... This guy is barely average.
you are 100% wrong. change is hard.
