There has never been a more perfect time to say this phrase, “snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.”
miami "coach" is m e n t a l l y r e t a r d e d
I love that the final minute of the game lasted ten minutes of real life time
No Saturday, in the HISTORY OF SATURDAYS, has ever ended as wonderfully as this 😂😂😂😂

Do you like bad calls? He obviously doesn't fumble the ball. It was ripped out after he was down.

what a clutch throw at the end to punish that blunder

I’ve never seen anything like this. Cristobal isn’t going to be eating out in Coral Gables for a while. What a space cadet.
He did it 2018 Ducks vs Stanford. Can’t fix stupid.

Nah .. we needed them to be undefeated when we beat them badly in order to have the best strength of schedule.

I feel for the player he should have never been in that situation the coaches need to run laps all week
9:49 Georgia Tech showing Miami how to run a victory formation play instead of kicking the extra point LOL.
I’m a diehard Nole. This is my favorite clip of football I’ve seen in a looonnng time
Most of the offensive coordinators and head coaches that I've ever known will tell you that their favorite offensive formation is the victory formation 😳
That looks like the ball pops out AFTER he was down. Even so, that play should NEVER have happened. Kneel it, and head to the locker with a win. Totally on Cristobal for allowing this to happen. He needs to stand up, be a man, and accept responsibility.
As bad as not taking the knee is, how about leaving a WR run behind the ENTIRE defense with a few seconds left in the game?
I love that the fans were chanting na na na na hey hey hey goodbye at the beginning as they were about to wave goodbye to their win.
You got Miami player thinking "why did i come here?" 😂
For the money and women ...
Yes.
I think the camera angle at 1:53 gives the best view of the fumble. You can see both the elbow that hits the ground first and the ball. Very difficult, if not impossible, to determine if the ball is lose milliseconds before or after the elbow touches the grass. I would argue that there is insufficient evidence to overturn the field call, so the fumble should stand.
Just as a reminder, you can use the , and . buttons on your keyboard to go frame by frame when the video is paused.
I don't have a horse in the race (other than finding the story highly entertaining), but I looked at the moment you're pointing to and counted 9 frames from the first moment when I was entirely sure the runner was down to the last moment when I was sure he still had firm possession. So unfortunately I do think that the call was wrong even bearing in mind the burden of proof.
He didn't fumble its clear the guy makes makes is yank of the ball when he's already on the ground. If we weren't miami they'd have called the play dead as it obviously was. Pretty classic that there was no pile up on the ball cause no everyone pretty much knew it wasn't a fumble.
@@josephwest3452you can't say "if we weren't Miami" Miami is more likely to get a call than Georgia tech 😂
I actually agree with you but I can see why somebody would think not.
THANK YOU FOR THE "," AND "."
I didn't know that, and it is AWESOME!
I can watch games and break down plays frame by frame now instead of speed pausing, TY
Take a knee and stop padding stats. Don't cry about the fumble call. Never would have happened if you had a coach.
I saw those garbage scUM fans throw full water bottles at the GA. Tech players. This is a much-deserved crushing blow to their black hearts. FMFFM
That's why they call it Thug U 😂.
This was purely Miami trying to get a late TD because a 10 point win looks better than a 3 point win. Instead they got a 3 point loss
Everyone saying “he was down” just know they coulda just taken a knee. Should’ve never put themselves in that situation.
To me seemed clear as can be that his elbow was down. The ball became rippable with help of the ground jarring it loose. Not sure why that wasn't considered conclusive. In my opinion, make the call by the rule book and the game is over. Dumb play call, but the refs ultimately lost that game.
If they would have had their traditional jerseys the replay may have shown things clearly, but those fancy new jerseys they had on made it hard to pick the ball out visually with the dark background. The bad decisions started before game time here.....
They couldn't overturn it anyways. You couldn't see the ball in any of the camera angles
Anyone blaming the refs is a moron 100% coaching
@@gqqq5042 I had that same thought.....those shiny, fancy, "cool" new uniforms made it so you couldn't clearly see the ball and the refs had to stick with what was called. If they had their classic uniforms the call might have been reversed.
They did this so the rb can get over 100 yards lol
I mean he did but he also gave GT the game to get it
Huge coaching error.
They should be throwing those bottles at their coach. Worst fan base ever.
They should really litter the whole place Mexican-style. They've been had. Real bad!

9:11 "What the F*ck are we even doing" Yeah man we were all wondering the same thing
The difference between these Canes of the last 20yrs and the Great Canes teams that came before is.....the great Canes teams would have kneeled the ball to win the game no matter what play was called because they were football smart and they were men.
The last 20yrs Miami just hasnt had that.
I appreciate how that one announcer truly explains how insulting this mistake i is. It insults the very nature of competition.
Lolz at Full final minute being 13 minutes 😂
The Georgia Tech radio callers went absolutely bonkers after that touchdown.. Jesus Christ! Unbelievable
Glorious
Mario that's on u bro we should not lose this game bro
As a lifelong Canes fan i will never EVER get over this
I don’t understand why Georgia Tech didn’t kick the extra point. They were up 3 points 23-20, and even if Miami does return a blocked kick to the end zone it’s only 2 points to make it 23-22. That decision and horrendous squib kick was puzzling.
I genuinely wonder if it wasn’t done simply out of spite to Cristobal lol
Good point. Kick the extra point up by 4 and if Miami scores a miracle TD they are probably dumb enough to kick the extra point and if GT blocks and returns it they go to OT. Maybe they were worried about it getting blocked being up 22-23 and if Miami gets a big play with 2 seconds left and a facemask to extend 1 play they kick and lose. I can see both sides to be honest. The fact Miami didn’t take a knee is beyond me and they deserve to lose because of it.
@@CLM2424-o8e Interesting take. I never though about a penalty at the end, but even so, wouldn't trying to kick the PAT and be up by 4 be worth the risk? So that Miami would be forced to try for a TD and not a field goal if they somehow got a penalty and the end? After all, a PAT is almost automatic. I don't understand the logic on not trying for the PAT.
@@Ffollies Yea I would play the odds and kick PAT and force Miami to score TD. I was more or less just playing devils advocate to both sides. Either way it should have never come down to any of that when they should have just taken a knee. Lol
It was a good call by GT just end the game and get the hell out of there unlike mia.🤣🤣🤣🤣
For those of you who don’t know Mario Cristobal I can understand the surprise. A 7 year old football fan should know to take a knee.
But Cristobal loves running up the score. His team was a 20 point favorite. A 10 point win looks a lot better than a 3 point win vs a team that lost at home to bowling Green 38-27.
Cristobal’s greedy brain ran all the numbers. He ignored the simple math, ignored the probabilities sheet coaches carry that tells them what to do and took the chance that it was more likely his guy would break one than him fumbling, Tech recovering and scoring a TD or kicking a game tying FG with 22 seconds left.
This will be shown to youngsters, middle schoolers, high schools, college players and nfl players for decades to come as to why you take a knee
So glorious
I was told by an informant that the replay booth review guy said upon his review the braille told him the elbow hit the superior portion of the grass but not the lower aspect therefore call stands as fumble. The replay guy also stated the braille told him Miami coach is an Einstein and will go to NFL next year for the Cowboys head coach gig
As an FSU fan I now have a change of heart rewatching this. I feel for the thunder storms ⛈️⛈️⛈️
Fired the coach
The Miami fans saying Goodbye at the beginning 😭😭😭
Mario 'tough guy' Cristobal. Remember Utah Utes bringing the beat down 2X in 2 weeks? Where can you take your clown show next?
This was amazing😂
Can someone please explain why GT didn't take the PAT? Even if it was blocked and returned all the way to the endzone by Miami, it still would've been 23-22. Why didn't they kick the PAT?
With 1 or 2 seconds left, Miami is either getting a touchdown or nothing, so up 3 or up 4 doesn't really matter. The irony of them taking a knee when Miami didn't is also nice.
Maybe cause Miami could get a 2 point conversion after the touchdown. Would take a massive miracle.
If they got a big KR plus a face mask or personal foul they could have been in position to win with a FG, if they had blocked the XP for 2pts. A very long shot but I think GT wanted to take as little chance as possible.
They didn’t want to risk a penalty on the PAT that would have been enforced on the kickoff
@@nicholaslake5937. All the MORE reason to kick the PAT. In other words: if you’re worried about losing on a Miami FG after a long kickoff run back and a defensive penalty that extends the game and moves the ball into game-winning FG range for Miami, then kick the PAT and go up by 4 points. It’s a hundred times more likely GT will convert the extra point than it is for Miami to block the kick and run it back for 2 points.
"What the f*ck are we doing" wow......just wow. 😳 coaches are to blame period.
This made my day.
Ok, i waited till the afternoon to post this comment because well i guess was too pissed off. 1. Kneel for crying out loud. The game was over. 2. The runner was down. 3. I can't believe the secondary made such bone head decisions. Never let a receiver get behind you especially with only a few seconds left. There was so many wrong decisions in this game. Oh boy....
And they throw water bottles at the players! Classless as always, those are the bandwagons that thought they had something other then there own life Lol
The trash throwing fans were only there because tickets were free, let that sink in.
I think the water bottles were meant for the Refs not the GT players.
@@ralph3986 these refs are horrible, and I mean as a whole in the ACC
Watching Miami fans suffer is my passion!
Coach literally ruined the season for his players
Bruh its hilarious everyone is calling down
He would of had they just called a qb kneel blame your coach for callin a run with 40 left in the game
It actually looked like the runners elbow was down when the ball came out......but I'm glad it ended the way it did. Such a great example of how anything can truly happen in College Football.
agree
Down for sure.
I thought that initially, but it looked like the ball was already wobbling with his hand on the tip on an earlier hit, but it's still hard to see so I could be mistaken
I have no horse in this race. I’m not a fan of either team, but to me it looks like the elbow was down. Even so, bonehead coach not to call for taking the knee.
Deserves this loss for such a dumb play call lol
Play stupid games get stupid prizes
Iffy.
😂😂 trash Canes were overrated anyway 🤷🏽♂️
Excuse me for a moment.
*laughs hard and long, like UrinatingTree would do*
Such a "little brother playing Madden" move by Miami.
Not even a miami fan but that was a bad call, but even after the bad call how did Miami defense just allow them to go down field and score like that, it was less than 30 secs on the clock
GT did exactly what the canes should have done...take a frickin knee...way to go coaching staff...practice taking a knee on monday would U😂
#5 thought it was still 3rd quarter he was going for the pick when the qb really had nothing all he had to do was keep it in front of him and make the tackle
Why did Georgia Tech not kick the extra point? I don’t understand the logic. They were up by 3 points. The worst case scenario - a blocked extra point kick run back all the way - is only worth TWO points. It’s not like a blocked FG which can be returned for a TD. Maybe the GT coaches (and the broadcast announcers) need to read the rule book.
Agree. I guess the risk is like: kick blocked and returned for two points, then a completed Hail Mary short of the goal line but with a defensive penalty, and then kick the field goal to win. But if you are worried about that, kicking the extra point makes *more* sense, not less, because the point makes it impossible to tie with a field goal.
Way to go Ramblin Wreck!
Whatever happened to taking a knee? What was the coach trying to do. Then the running back has to actually hold onto the ball. It came out to easy.
Not a Canes fan....elbow was clearly down. I widened it out and watched in slow motion. Regardless, there must be accountability. A.D. to coach - dock this years salary or take your separation package and leave now.
Taking a knee on a PAT. That's awesome.
Las Vegas made that call
Goose bumps.... Can't stop watching ... Bro can never be called "The GOAT" -- one stupid mistake and the title GOAT vanishes....
Mia coach should be fired or demoted he just single-handedly put himself in the history book and cost his team a shot at playoffs and/or new years bowl…wow! What a clown
He looked down to me but we’ll take the win.
They don’t deserve to win after that decision
He was down
@@canefan17 Maybe, but there's no reason to ponder running a play with less than 40 seconds left and GT bereft of timeouts. Kneel and you win. This is on Cristobal, he choked. Not Miami as a whole.
@@willjones9392 Well, do you ignore a coaches role in a win... the coach had them run instead of taking a knee. Do you think the other team should just let them play? You remember in 1990 when Colorado was playing GT and the refs gave them an extra down to get into the end zone... and then it was questionable whether the ball even crossed the enplane on the 5th down? I saw the replay.. I think it was clear that he was down. I also think it's clear the coach should not have run the ball and should have taken knees. Football is about mistakes both from the players and the coaches. "Deserve" has nothing to do with it. It's the score when the game is over. I think Miami is a better team but GT did what it took to win. The Miami coach ran the ball when a knee down would have won it. I think the mistake the coach made translates to Miami deserving to loose the game, don't you.
@@canefan17 I am GT Alumn and he was clearly down. The replay shown from the GT end zone in slow mo shows his elbow down and then 2-3 seconds of slo mo later the ball is pulled out. That means in full time maybe .5 sec to 1 sec later the ball comes out. The only explanation is the replay official could not tell if the elbow was actually on the ground hence not enough evidence. But I think the elbow was probably down. But this doesn't happen at all if the Miami coach takes a knee instead of running. Everyone, including the announcers pointed this out.
Yogi Berra famous sayings. IT AIN'T OVER TILL IT'S OVER. GO NOLES
Go Yellow Jackets!
That 3rd down play call is horrendous, as in they wouldn't do this in Pop Warner. The game clock is under 40 seconds, a kneeldown ices the game. It's 2023, not 1978, for God's sake!
GT takes a knee to end the game the irony!!!! 😂😂😂
There is no way in hell they don’t choose these angles to show the public on purpose.
There are so many ways, better ways, better angles, and better quality everything that is available and actually used even.
It definitely looked like his elbow was on the ground. I’m a completely independent and unbiased individual. Based strictly on if his elbow hit the ground before the ball came out, it definitely looks like his elbow hit the ground before the ball was pulled out of his arms.
But why even run that play…when you have the game won..just take the knee
@@nortorioustxc4359 100 million percent correct. So frustratingly stupid and maddeningly dumbfounding to see and gets worse every replay knowing they are about to NOT take a knee.
😤😤😤🤯🤯🤯🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Part of why I was so energized to rant and vent about the stupid, incredibly specific spotted, and minimally shown camera angles was from making the most simple and no-brainer play into such a confusing cluster F of the worst case scenario that THEY WERE IN CONTROL OF. 🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😵💫😵💫
Not mad or talking crap to you. I just never want to see this again.
I’d literally like to know the honest, actual, literal thoughts going on in the Coach’s head leading up to and making the play call.
The only saving grace is that he called the Knee; but boys will be boys, young men at that, and decided to play it out running it down their opponents throats. Then the coach knew how bad it would effect or ruin the boys to receive the overwhelming critical criticism of such a bonehead mistake so decided instantly to just take it all on his shoulders.
That better be what comes to light after the last player on that team graduates or is done playing.
See ya then!
I'm glad they lost because that was so colossally stupid, but that RB's elbow, shoulder, and helmet were all on the turf before that ball got ripped out lol. You're blind AF if you say there was no visual evidence.
I'm looking for Mia fan reaction videos to troll but there are non I think all the Mia fans are blacked out lol
Dallas Cowboys just found their next head coach.
All the coaches just let that happen. Qb shoulda known to take a knee to. Do whatever it takes to win
they should fire the coach
Dude was really close to being down short sliding into the end zone. Next time jump forward bro. Would’ve been game over with 10 second run off.
He actually gave his self up at the first part of slide 1/2 yard short of the end zone
@@hassana9240 Yea I agree, when a QB slides they mark it down at the exact point where they started to slide. Crazy that he even did that instead of just running the ball in. The final minute was just a bunch of craziness that went 100% GT way. The fumble was called a fumble on the field so it stood because the Miami players were in the camera view to see if the ball was moving before the elbow. The Miami defender miss timed his jump on the first long play and then the GT guy slide short but I’m guessing it was not even considered by the refs which is why it was not overturned. Either way 100% on Mario shoulders for not just taking a knee. If TVD fumbles the snap to take a knee it’s totally different story but to not even call the kneeling is insane. And he makes 8 million a year. Smh.
@@CLM2424-o8ethe man down at the start of the slide only applies to QBs. For everybody else it is when they are actually down

Why the F are you running the ball in the first place?
Not kicking the extra point was a mistake.
What a horrible play in the end this coach not only is a trash playcaller he doesnt even make them practice this endgame scenarios.

So its Pete Carol and this guy...
You Miami fans we're told Cristobal can't coach.
Elbow clearly down before ball is pulled out. Horrible call.
Not taking a knee was a worse call
Wow! In last 40 seconds, 5 big mistakes. 1. Miami coach: should take a knee, 2. Refs: The runner was clearly down, 3. Miami Dback(s): don't let anyone behind you on the last play of the game, 4. GTech coach: Should kick the extra point, 5. GTech kicker: don't kick it out of bounds to stop the clock and let Miami have 1 last play from scrimmage.
On last play, Gtech could have easily been called for a defensive penalty putting Miami in field goal range. A field goal sends the game into OT and Miami could still win. Bad idea to kick that short out of bounds and really bad idea to take a knew on the extra point. Even it they block the extra point and return it, they still win by 1 point. If they kick the extra point, then the field goal scenario is out of play.
I can't stand "The U", but he was down.
Don't even think about saying the refs screwed the 'Canes. Mario Cristobal did that.
This is why you play until the clock reads 0.
It’s not just the coach but the entire staff. Nobody knows to take a knee?
