We go by ourselves and with friends from the island. In the bay where we were there are no sharks; but it is Hawaii, so there are beautiful sharks everywhere! We were lucky enough to see a school of hammerhead sharks swimming on the surface after this dolphin dive, however further away from the island. Incredible!
had such a crappy day today :( watching this video, closing my eyes, imagine myself in the water in total freedom with dolphins swimming around me really does help ... love it ... definitely a bucket list item that should be done long before kicking the bucket :) ... what is the song used in this clip it is very soothing

search for Bimini island of the Bahamas, swimming with wild Atlantic spotted dolphins. I went there two years ago and it was amazing... In terms of interaction and curiosity of the dolphins it's definitely the best place in the world... (i did some research since it was on my bucket list for many years :P) I heard hawaii is also good (as you can see in the video), but it's probably more difficult to get as much interaction... still, after watching this, I have a new item on my bucket list!

The Hero 3 Black Edition is brilliant - as you can see in the vid - we used both our D7000 and the GoPro to film the footage. Safe & fun freediving! ;-)

How do you hold your breath for so long? Sweet video! *+* 👍
When we are freediving we are filming footage anywhere from 40 metres to the surface which means that we don't use a filter. What can happen if you are using a filter in the first 5 to 10 metres of depth, the footage can be tinged with red. For Scuba Diving, when you are at a constant depth of 20 metres or so, filters can be very useful to give the footage a warmer hue. However we never use them.... Trial and error - give it a go and see your results! Good Luck!

wow thats amazing! it wasnt one or two! Amazing experience! Is it easy to spot them? Do you go by yourself or with a guide? Are there sharks in the same area? my girlfriend has swimming with dolphins on her bucket list but I dont know where we should go.. not so many dolphins here in sweden :/

there is a huge pod of dolphins that regularly swim along the Kohala coast of Big Island, Hawaii, and several excursion boats that will take you out to them. It is quite definitely worth the money! it is amazing experience and a true honor. i hope you get the chance to experience it, too! i've got some footage on my channel, too, from here on Maui. :)

Thanks for the answer, I am looking forward to go deep soon;) I am planning to use with the Hero 3 the Slim Frame Red Glass filter from PolarPro for 3+ depth. It is easy to put on and off and it should add like artificial warm light to the vid, which shouldnt looke much artificial i hope. Any experience with the thing guys?
