Great bit of fishing chaps the young lad is defo learning alot from you guys . eel section was a brilliant tope bait back in the day when we had lots of eels in the thames estuary it was then on the topes menu but as the elels declined the tope that do come into our waters are now feeding on what ever is here proberbly mostly whiting and macs when there here . i have caught tope on live whiting many times . as our tope season is so short now you have to be lucky to get the right tides coinside with good weather ( and thats not easy ) . im planning on a trip for tope this coming friday . will let you know how i get on . tight lines .
hey Gav, give Phil White of chinook charters a call & pick his brain about tope fishing. Ive fished with him a number of times & he never fails to find fish. he goes way offshore on his tope trips so might be a bit too far for your boat. love the channel
