- Riff and tab for LeadBelly's brilliant original version of In New Orleans/House of the Rising Sun. Standard tuning for this one. Tab comes on after the riff.
to tune down so far I had to get very very heavy strings. I bought a low B from a seven string guitar (about 68) and then moved the rest of the strings down so the E was in the A spot etc. and then I had to experiment with the right thinner strings. also, leadbellys lowest string is tunes two octaves apart from its mate - as is mine in my other leadbelly song.

I cannot begin to tell you how long it has taken me to figure this out. Thank you SO MUCH. I finally get it. I haven't check very closely, but, are you tuned down like Leadbelly? One step? Two Steps?

No. Not on this one - on the other one it is down 5 semi tones. I sing this better in concert pitch. it is a lot of fun to play.
If ur still around, do u know how the animals got their way of playing this song?? The strumming of am, then c, then d, etc...
Your last 2 bars of tab are incorrect, should be a D chord not A.

On your tab on the video you have written the tab on the last 2 bars as 02220 but you are ending on. D chord should be 2320
