Unfortunately, this isn’t the first release of the new 777x mould with wrong cockpit window printing. JC Wings N779XY (Boeing white company colour) has the same error! As well as the KJ (Boeing house colours) release for the asian market. Both JC and GJ did nothing to improve in this case! So I’m afraid this is the final version of the 777x mould…
Something you should consider is not getting the first release of any new molds from model plane companies. When I got the Delta A330neo from Gemini200, it was very good, however, it was missing some small details such as the bare metal areas on the engines. When Gemini200 released the Garuda Indonesia A330neo, they fixed this problem and had all that detail there. Same with the Delta team USA A330neo. I can imagine the 777-9x will be the same. First releases are never perfect and should be avoided.
You are absolutely right. There are a number of problems with this first release. I recall the first batches of A380s also have landing gear issues. I wanted to buy the Delta A330neo, but gave up at the end.
Thank you so much for this excellent review! I thought of getting it even if the cockpit windows look strange, but after seeing this it's a NO. I love the Geminijets Emirates 777-300ER, so for me that's the standard it needs to be at 😊
Thank you for doing this review and has made my choice not to buy this much easier. I feel Gemini release new models too quickly and they are not as accurate as they should be. The first release of the BA A350-1000 is a prime example of this. I am much more of a fan of IF200 and I am looking forward to seeing what they come out with
Indeed. The BA 35K was another disappointment.I was wondering why EK & GJ rush to release 787 & 779, sometimes when they didn't even have the AC reg number confirmed yet. I hope they will have a revised edition for the 779 asap. I really love 779 with EK's livery.
jc wings made a similar mistake with the cockpit windows on a recent release of a 1:200 eva air 77W. It's so obvious I wonder how no one corrected it before release. I generally find the mould of the 777-9 from both gemini and jc to be good but not as accurate as the 777-200/300 mould. But the old 777 and 747 moulds are so accurate because there have been countless releases, giving them enough time to tweak small mistakes.
The new Gemini 1:200 787-1000 emmerates I purchased front new landing gear style they are doing broke. I accidentally ordered 2 instead of 1 and was actually glad I purchased 2 by mistake since 1 landing gear broke…..2 days later, the second planes front landing gear broke off also. They was only sitting for 2 days. All I did was pick them up and the front landing gear just stayed on the ground while the plane was raised up. The new landing gear is super weak and fragile.
Bro I can’t catch a break. I commented 9 months ago talking about how 2 of my new 787-10 front landing broke within 2 days and now I just recently purchased this exact 777-9 and when it came in, it had NO WINGLETS!! You can’t make this crap up. I have no idea what is going on with Gemini jets here lately.
This is why I always go to the retailer's shop because they would allow their customers to open the box and see what the model looks like. So if there are any issues with the plane, we would get an insane amount of discount like 30% or 40%. I reccommend going to retailers who would let you view the contents of the model.
It’s hard to tell the cockpit windows of the md11s are highly inaccurate this model oh kck the angle dipping of the window is different to the side of the aircraft
Absolutely love it. It’s a very sophisticated product. It’s not as great as WB’s SQ WB 1/200 Singapore Airlines B777-300ER Unboxing and Review ua-cam.com/video/OQVHscGdlpc/v-deo.html , but to me it’s good enough. Love GJ’s EK END!
One thing i just cannot understand is how they mess up the placement of the cockpit windows not just on this model but across a few of Gemini’s model range, Noticed it on a few 747s, 767s,737s and 757s, it just looks so off and they obviously cannot test moulds with printing placements and adjustments before distribution.
Indeed. I’m sure JC factory guys, and GJ QC guys all saw this problem during production. and it has been occurring for at least a year or so. Was it too costly to correct the production defect or to forfeit the imperfect products?
@@ktshobbies i would guess it is down to time and costs, Time because release dates and costs to correct the issues maybe. I understand that Gemini and JC can be extremely busy but with prices going up on models you would expect things to look better to make people feel like they are getting a better quality model for the money you pay.
@@BritishLion2012 Hope someone with manufacturer knowledge could share views. Why such obvious issue could last for a year or so? Was it some kind of costly tech defect with no simple quick fix?! Really want to know.

I think the windows issue has been seen in JC’s recent 77Ws, such as the EVA Air open engine one as well. Too bad this ruins the whole model.

I bought the B777-9 emirates 1/200 scale from Daron Skymarks and I love it already
Saw this Skymarks in a store. Really good looking!!!

Avoid this one. This angry cockpit looks silly. 😝
@KT's Hobbies Thanks! Yeah I will definitely wait for the next one 😊
I want to wait and see if JC would have a new 779 released. Always feel that it’s models are slightly better than GJ’s occasionally.

Exactly! The window issue stops me from buying the JC BR77W with interactive engines.
The GJ/JC 77W mould is better than the 779’s!
I'm cancelling my order
Thank you

That’s too bad!!!
Just to say,
I prefer the B777-300er than the B777-9, the B777-300ER is just more better looking in my opinion and more iconic!

@@hi_dx1 yes, better to buy from retailer so that you hv a chance to check it first.
Inflight 200 are also doing the 779, will be interesting to see how that compares.
I hope IF200's 779 will be better than GJ's. IF's A350s, esp -1000, are inferior to GJ's & JC's. I was quite surprised by this.
Do you think the plastic one (HOGAN prbly?) is better? The printing and other factors regarded. Thanks!
Saw the plastic one in person. Looks really nice.
How do the wingtips attach? Are they magnetic?
Not magnetic, just insert, so they are loose.
@@ktshobbies Putting me off buying one knowing they don't fit very well...
I’ll suggest you skip this one and wait for a revised version. Emirates 77X will not carry this livery anyway.
