Ah, I wonder if I can call them to place an order. Most colours that I need seem to be perpetually out of stock so it's great to know that LNS's are able to get them in. Thanks for watching, and happy stitching!
The only designer I have ever traveled to see is Jeannette Douglas. What a delight in person she is! I have adored stitching her bouquets each month… So much so that I might do it again next year and give one away.
I've always heard such wonderful things about her and her travels and classes. She's in Europe right now and it looks to be a beautiful time. And that's a great idea with the bouquets. I think I might do the opposite and stitch them all together.
Have fun with your new sewing machine! How exciting. I would like a new machine as well but will probably never pull the trigger because I am totally flummoxed by all the choices and options. Thank you for the video!
I am EXACTLY like you in that regard. I would normally spend too long researching the kind of machine to get, and then an equally long period of time figuring out where to buy it. It's comical, actually. So I'm grateful I could rely on some good guidance.
I very much enjoyed seeing all the projects you showed. Your project bag finish for Lady Man is so beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing the goodies in your advent packages, so fun! The needlebook you made is so lovely. Congratulations on reaching your wonderful milestone of 2 K subscribers. I've been a fan of yours since your first video and I always enjoy seeing all the projects that you've been working on and am always inspired by your creativity and beautiful finishes. Thank you for another wonderful update and looking forward to your next. Happy stitching and crafting!
That's such a sweet thing to say, Lorraine! Thank you so much for being with me from the beginning. It's been a good ride so far. Now let's see what I can manage with an advent segment. Happy stitching to you, too!
Oh Ellen's chart is gorgeous and I love the sentiment of the phrase she included ❤ Thank you for sharing your stitching with us. I love seeing the different ways you finally finish your projects :)
Thanks, Melissa! I'm so happy you're enjoying them! And yes, Ellen's chart is quite special with a lovely sentiment. I can guarantee you won't be disappointed with her upcoming charts, either. 😉
I like your ‘quirky’ taste in needlework. Like you, I am not much of a sew in hand kind of person and will only do it if it is a small and doesn’t fit a hoop. Q-snaps are what I am trying to get used to but sometimes I find them heavy. Ellen’s new design is lovely and I would like to stitch it too. Enjoy your new sewing machine. Congrats on the subscribers; you are a pleasure to watch.
Thank you so much! I appreciate that. And I agree about the Q-snaps. I was struggling with them until I got a stand. Then it became a non-issue because I didn't have to hold it, and it allows me to stitch using two hands. I also know some prop up the Q-snap on their outstretched legs with knees bent when their feet are on a stool or sofa. Anything to relieve the weight helps. Best of luck and happy stitching!
Congrats Ryan. I always so enjoy seeing what you have been working on. You have a few beautiful new charts to stitch and Ellen’s chart is really lovely. Enjoy your new sewing machine.
You're so kind, Meryl. Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying my videos. I hope I can get around to stitching Ellen's chart soon, but that sewing machine may have other ideas on my time. :)
Thanks! And yes, I think that HATS is going to be a new fave of mine, at the expense of all others. But it's been a smooth stitch so far, so we should be good. :)
Thank you, Sheila! And yay for year-round pieces! Although if you've noticed, I'm okay with Christmas ornaments. They're quick and easy and make for a nice keepsake.
Oh Ryan, I wish we lived closer so we could sit down and stitch together once in awhile. You are so calming to listen to! I saw your 46-count stitching when Caroline showed it, it was amazing! Wow! You should be proud! Your work on the HATS Sampler is lovely, I look forward to seeing your progress! Come back soon! And you will reach thousands more subscribers soon! P.S.: Dive right in with that sewing machine! Love your butterfly bag (I have butterfly tattoos)
I love that UA-cam has brought people like you into my life. I'm very grateful for that. And thank you for the flattery! I thought of you when making the butterfly bag. I only wish I had leftover fabric! P.S.: I still haven't plugged it in yet. HAHA! But I did register for the warranty and I've ordered a piping foot. 😁
Hooray for 2k! Your Lady Man project bag knocked my socks off! The 2002 prairie schooler is wonderful; you’re right, those charts DO NOT age. I’m so very excited for Ellen’s designs and I can’t wait to see what she does next!
Michelle! I think Lady Man may be one of my all-time favourite projects, from beginning to end. I'm glad I could do it justice. And our Ellen is quite a formidable force. Maybe one day there will be room at the table for a RyRy design, too! :)
Congratulations on 2k subscribers, well deserved. I think it is a brilliant idea to use stitched pieces on project bags. I am summoning up the courage to make my first bag. With confidence, I think I could do the same with finishes of the appropriate size. Always live to stitch along with your videos and admire all of your work. Happy stitching.
Oh you definitely have to make a bag. There are so many awesome tutorials on here that are a great help. Let me know if you want me to point you towards anyone. And thank you, as always, for your kind words. Happy stitching to you, too!
I always love to see what your working on. Your projects are so unique. The project bag was beautiful with the butterfly fabric and the attention to detail. Thanks for sharing.
I am not the swiftest video watcher…. But I’ve had a fun week off enjoying some Flosstubes whilst stitching. You are very welcome for the happy mail! Enjoy!
I'm happy you have some quiet time to catch up on the stitching and Flosstubing. That always makes for a good day and sounds like a great way to start the new year!
I really enjoyed this flosstube and so many of your projects. Thank you! I am also thrilled for Ellen. Her design is wonderful. Thank you for sharing. Happy Holidays to you and yours
Congratulations Ryan reaching 2K subbies! I enjoyed watching your nice video, and all your awesome cross stitching! You have a nice calming voice to listen too! Cheers from Down Under!
Congratulation on reaching the 2K milestone. Very well deserved. I love seeing your projects. Your voice is very calming and enjoyable to listen to. Stay well. Best, K
Congratulations on 2000 subscribers! I love J. Douglas designs too. She also gets extra points for being 🇨🇦.I’d love to stitch the Ellen’s first chart or enjoy your needle book creation. You must be in heaven after your big sewing machine purchase!
When I first started stitching and didn’t know anything, I thought I was supporting a small Canadian design talent by buying a design of hers. I sure had a lot to learn! Haha And you’re right about the machine. Can’t wait to start!
Congrats on the 2K! I loooove the Lady Man project bag. And thanks for showing the Prairie Schooler ornament! That will be a perfect kitchen project for me.
A great "Lady Man" project bag. I think that is a great way to use our cross stitch work. You did a great job stitching the bag. It would be very sell-able.
That's awesome, Peg! Is it the kind of colorwork where you have a strand in each hand, or you have lots of floats? I've never tried those. Perhaps one day. 😊
Congrats on 2k subscribers! I love your videos and how mellow you are. It really helps bring me calm when I'm feeling anxious. That Maximum Cross Stitch chart is GORGEOUS. I have never stitched a sampler before, I'm a full coverage stitcher, but I would LOVE to stitch that one (that bird is tooooo cute!) I would also be overjoyed to have a handmade needle/notions book made by you :)
I'm very grateful for your kind words. The irony is that I'm often quite nervous when recording. So I'm relieved to see that isn't noticeable. And samplers can be really fun! You'll notice they stitch up faster than a full coverage. I've actually not done a full coverage. HAEDs scare me, but I have a nice Carolyn Manning in my stash that would qualify.
@@RyRyMcGuy They're all just little X's in the end so nothing to be scared of and I'm sure your work would be gorgeous. That being said, they aren't everyone's cup of tea and that's perfectly fine! It would be boring if we were all the same. And I would not know you are nervous when recording. You're a natural and I'm excited to keep following your journey.
Ryan, I am working on Ellen's chart while I enjoy your video.... it is such a fun chart that grabbed my attention! Your Lady Man bag is stunning!!! And the backing fabric is perfect. Thank you for all of the inspiration!! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you, Margaret! I love seeing everyone work on Ellen's chart. It's a beauty. And it took me far too long to decide on what I even wanted for the backing fabric, but this one sealed the deal immediately.
New subscriber here. Congratulations on your milestone 2,000. You are definitely craft versatile. I cross stitch and quilt. Have never done a sampler though. Nice video. Thank you.
Thanks so much, Arleen! Welcome aboard. And yes, I'm a crafter in search of a craft. Speaking of quilting, I'll have to dust off my half-baked project and share it on here next time to get some feedback on next steps.
Hi Ryan - great to see you back! And congrats on 2000 subscribers. I loved your Lady Man finish. It turned out so nice. Smart idea to frame the cross stitch piece! And loved your attitude about mistakes and the stitching the young boy did on his sampler. Gives it character. Looking forward to your next flosstube. Take Care.
Thanks so much, Janiece! Much appreciated. I can tell you from experience that, in general, being a perfectionist gets exhausting. Embracing the mistakes has been very liberating.
Congrats on 2000 subscribers - so deserved 😀Great to see your new projects, I love to see your choices for each & then how you choose to finish them. Spoonflower is great, especially for great choices when you have something specific in mind & you don't want the same fabric as everyone else! I tried stitching on 40ct linen for the fist time today - things are going slowly, so slowly! But I'll get there...
Thanks again, Barb! And yes to Spoonflower! I feel I don't hear about them often enough, but perhaps I'm hanging out with a different crowd. 😉 And I have faith in you with the 40-count! Can't wait to see what you're doing.
Enjoy your videos so much. I would love a chance at the needle book. I just realized that you could be the Bob Ross of Cross Stitch!!! Look forward to your upcoming vids.
Congrats, Ryan, on 2000 subscribers. Loved your project bag finish! Very inspirational. This past summer I ordered a mystery kit. When it arrived I liked it well enough, but it was large and I didn't want to frame it. Once I envisioned a project bag out of it, I really liked it. I stitched it over 1 to make it the right size. After that was done, I went looking for other pieces not yet FFo'd. I have made 3 more project bags. One more is waiting in the wings. As always, a great video. Thank you so much for sharing.
Oooo I love a good mystery kit, especially when you know you'll love whatever is inside. And kudos to you for the project bag FFOs! I'm surprised more people aren't doing it. Or maybe they are and we just don't hear about it. :) Thanks again for watching, and happy stitching!
I look forward to your videos and enjoy to see what you are stitching. You make my day! Love Jeanette Douglas & also stitching her mini flowers! I'm teaching my friend to sew and her first class was to play with her machine, so go for it.!
Thank you so much!!! That's very kind of you to say. Those mini-bouquets are really something. And I hope your friend is an excellent student. That's a great way to start. For me, it's like being afraid to take out a brand-new car onto the road, fearing that something will happen to it. haha! But I've watched enough videos about it so I think I'll be okay. Best of luck with your teaching!
Congratulations on 2k subscribers. I really enjoyed your video and all the amazing projects and finishes especially your Lady Man project bag. Love your little needle book, thank you for sharing!!!
Congrat's on 2000!! I can understand getting a new sewing Machine and not using it, I am doing the same thing...hahaha! I really love love Ellen's new chart, the house the border just everything I am so happy for her. Have a amazing day!
It's nice to know I'm not alone, Laura! haha! Can you believe I still haven't used it yet? But TODAY IS THE DAY! I promise! Now you have to use yours, too. :)
Congratulations on 2000 subscribers! I love the way your project bag turned out. I need to make a few new bags (as my collection of WIPS grows) and some completed stitched pieces just might end up on them!
Your stitching is beautiful! I was looking forward to your video ever since Caroline mentioned you did the model stitching for Yule Ball 🎉 I couldn’t wait and started the Song of a Nightingale chart from MFE you mentioned last video. It’s such a relaxing project, loving every minute on it! Hope this enables you to start it soon too! 😆
Oh yes, Jacob’s designs are such a joy to stitch. I have far to many of his in my queue. Right now, the holiday countdown chart is at the top of the pile. And stitching the Yule Ball was great! I was so thrilled that they entrusted it with me, even though I was initially worried about stitching on the 46-count linen. Happy stitching!
I love your FFO of Lady's man. I have been contemplating for a while creating project bags or other bags from cross stitch. I will do it some day. Great video. So much good content. I look forward to eventually seeing the unboxing of your advents.
Thank you so much!!! The hardest part about turning the FO into a project bag was deciding on the fabric print. You should definitely try it! And I'll definitely be sharing my advent contents, too. :)
I love your Lady Man finish! I’m not very good at participating in SALs, but I have been working on it all along and just finished it this month. I’ll show it in my next next Flosstube, hopefully sometime in the next couple of days.
Beautiful finishes. I always enjoy seeing what you stitching. I love Ellen new chart one day I will get the chart. I seen her video the day she released the chart. Happy stitching
I love the your project bag. I made a pillow out of a cross stich piece might have to try a bag and I know just the finished piece to use. Congrats on 2000 subscribers.
Thank you! I love the idea that cross stitching doesn't have to only be art relegated to a wall. We can enjoy them in fun and unusual and creative ways. Happy stitching and good luck with your own project bag!
Congrats on reaching 2k 🥳 I've enjoyed watching you from your first upload to now! Every time someone shows Ellen's new chart I kick myself: I was at the Evertote open house and somehow I completely missed it. She was there, I was there, I could've had a signed copy!!!! Here's to another 3k in your near future.
You're too kind, Dawn. Thank you!!! That means so much to me. And I will assume that you missed her chart because you were all having such an amazing time! I'm really sorry I missed it. Perhaps she'll host more in the future. But I do hope I get to see you again at Stitch North!
I'm so pleased that UA-cam recommended your channel to me today, Ryan! Brand new subscriber here. I'm fairly new at watching Flosstube although I've been cross stitching for about 60 years now. I wish that this had been around all along - your voice so peaceful as I stitch and your choices of stitching inspiring. I'm searching for a new piece to start for 2023, so (although I'm late to the JDD party :)) since I love my flower garden, Jeannette's series may be just the thing! Nature and samplers are my go-to subject choices, so I'm admiring Ellen's wonderful first design as well. It may be the retired elementary educationist in me, but I always enjoy thinking of some young person many years ago learning their letters along with their needlework. Looking forward to many more of your lovely postings!
Welcome aboard, Nancy! I'm grateful you found me and I'm grateful for UA-cam for enabling us. Yes, stitching has definitely changed over the years. My mom used to stitch back in the 80s and 90s and it's very different from what's available now. Regarding Jeannette's Mini-bouquet project for 2022, the charts are free and can be downloaded directly from her website. But they'll disappear at the end of December, so grab them now and you'll have them to stitch when you're ready. And I love your perspective on the young stitchers of yesteryear. I think that was the reality for many.
Congrats, Nancy! You’re the lucky recipient of “There’s Always Room” by Ellen! Please reach out to me via my email address so we can make arrangements. :)
@@RyRyMcGuy Oh, wonderful! I'm just sneaking in a quiet moment or two before the family holiday season shenanigans begin this evening. I managed to get Jeannette's mini flower bouquet series downloaded. (Thanks so much for recommending this!) And I'm taking this time to make tentative plans for stitching in 2023 so Ellen's stitch gift will be most welcome! Thank you immensely and I'll email you straight away!
Your new project bag with Lady Man on it is. What a great way to use a cross stitch piece. The fabric really was perfect and I especially like the little tab on the side. As for Ellen's chart, believe you me, as soon as I saw her floss tube in which she mentions her new design I was off like a flash to purchase it. As I told Ellen, That House! Love it. I wish I could start it right away but I have Christmas present deadlines for my knitting and crocheting. After the holidays though I'll spoil myself silly with cross stitching. Speaking of other projects, good luck with your fingerless gloves. I tried them once myself and my first one was about the size of an oven mitt. 😂😂😂 Funny but not good. Finally, huge congrats for reaching 2000. It's because you're just so nice to watch and listen to. Thank you.
Awww you're too kind, Alison. Thank you! And I'm right with you on that fast-approaching Christmas deadline. I fear I'm in full denial at this point, but best of luck with all of yours! And that's too funny about the oven mitt. I wonder if a cycle through the washing machine wouldn't help shrink it down if it was wool. But then, it may be just a felted oven mitt. 😂 Hapy stitching and we'll hop right on Ellen's chart together in the new year!
I love Ellen's sampler. She is off to a great start as a designer. Congrats on 2K subscribers! I found you early on thanks to Ellen shouting you out on Maximum Cross Stitch Power Hour.
I owe Ellen a lot for pointing me in this direction, and I haven't looked back. We are coming up to the one-year anniversary where we had fun together on her channel and I hope we can do something to mark the occasion. :)
@@jodydavie923 oh for sure! I'm looking forward to meeting new people and reconnecting with those who were there this past year. It was such a great time and I know the next one promises to be even better!
Your stitching for Michelle was beautiful! I am stitching Yule Ball with the Forbidden Fibre Co. threads as I bought her advent last year. Love Ellen’s chart! I forgot to have her sign mine at the open house, so I think I will need to bring it with me to the next one in December!
Thank you! It was a joy to stitch, even under the aggressive deadline I gave myself. And yes, don't forget to take Ellen's chart to the next open house! Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it, but I know everyone will have an excellent time.
So good to see you and your wonderful stitching! Congrats on 2,000 subscribers. Your kit with DMC is lovely and reminds me of a comment I heard on another floss tube channel recently - Sassy Jack, I think. If so, Kimberly, the owner of Sassy Jack Stitchery, was saying there are 3 qualities of DMC floss. The lowest quality is what is sold in big box stores, the middle quality is sold to LNSs, and the highest quality is only available directly from DMC. They always sell their 6-strand floss on their website for .99 (US$) which is at least .20 high than at most LNSs. I'll bet your kit contains the top-quality DMC. Apparently the extra $ buys a lot of extra luster! I'll be interested to see if you find it different to stitch with. Also, I live vicariously through floss tube Advent box sharing, so hope you'll share your goodies, too! Happy stitching!!!
Lori! You may have offered the key to unlocking this mystery! I've never heard of the different qualities of DMC, but of course that makes perfect sense. I don't buy many kits and I was truly shocked at the lustre and shine. Definitely worth the price. I'm looking forward to stitching it up and will for sure share my experience with it. Happy stitching to you as well!
Congratulations on your 2000 subscriber milestone, Ryan! Always a fan of your videos. I love the project bag finish you chose for Lady Man. It’s nice to see some different kinds of finishes, other than framing (love a good frame though!) I still haven’t started my Lady Man after months of procrastinating but I look forward to getting to it in the new year. I’ll also be doing the Evertote / MFE Christmas stitch along and will follow your progress here on FlossTube. I’ve had my eye on Ellen’s first chart and would love to receive a copy of my own. I can’t get over how beautiful it is for a first chart and can’t wait to see what else she comes up with.
Thank you so much!!! It makes me happy to see the community that we've formed. And no worries about any delayed starts. There are far too many projects and never enough time. But I'll be doing my best to keep along with the MFE Holiday Countdown SAL. I only have the chart so I'll be torturing myself about which of my own stash colours to use. Ellen is quite a talent! I have full confidence that this is just the beginning for her and we'll see many other beautiful ones to come. Happy stitching!!!
So good to see you. Love all your projects and d that chart that you are giving away is gorgeous .. love spending time with you I got my slice of pumpkin pie and my hot chocolate and had a great visit with you.. God bless see you soon. Linda from. Rhode Island
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, Linda! And now of course I want pie and hot chocolate, too! I'm easily influenced, as you can tell. 😊 Happy stitching from Toronto!
Ok, fangirling a little on the Jeanette Douglas happy mail, not gonna lie 😮 Sad that her monthly bouquets are coming to an end so did a little JD chart shopping … congratulations on 2,000!!
Oh, I totally fangirled too! haha. To ease some of the disappointment that the bouquets are coming to an end, I'm debating doing them all together. Everyone else's looked so beautiful.
So excited for Ellen's chart release success. My LNS is working with me to create a SAL in the new year. I haven't been able to purchase a copy of the design yet, but aft 🔥er Christmas...my first ever sampler!
I love your videos, and you always have great projects to show. I love that you finish things in unusual ways, too. I know what you mean about trying to get things perfect, I am stitching Ann Grimshaw and there are tons of places in the sampler where she wasn’t consistent with how she stitched something, and it drives me nuts! I fix things as I find them because that’s what feels right but I’m trying to leave little things that don’t matter. Lol. Anyway, congrats on reaching 2k subscribers!
Thank you for the compliments, Barbara! Greatly appreciated. And I'm also with you on doing what feels right. I know many people who will do everything they can to add the J's or V's back into alphabets in reproduction samplers. And that's okay. Whatever makes us happy.
So lovely to catch up with you Ryan. Loved the project bag finish with Lady Man on it. Inspiring to see your finishes. Still learning "how to" ! I'm interested in which brand sewing machine you got, I have been shopping around for one too but can't seem to decide! Thank you!
Hi Michele! It's nice to catch up with everyone, too. And yeah, learning is definitely on-going. Like now...I'll be learning all about my new Juki TL series machine. It came very highly recommended.
Congrats, Michele! You’re the lucky recipient of a needle book sewn by yours truly. Please reach out to me via my email address listed in the drop-down notes above to make arrangements. :)
Congrats on passing 2k! I loved all your finishes this video. I just finished stitching a couple of my own Prairie Schooler ornaments and I really like yours. Hope to see how you finish yours before Christmas, maybe on your Instagram. FYI, I love Max's stuff. His eco friendly kits are great. I usually buy his pdfs but I appreciate all his efforts. I hope you do share your Sajou box, I'm intrigued. Cheers!
Thanks for the kind words, Lorna! This was my first Prairie Schooler stitch and I really enjoyed it. Super quick. And yes, let's see if I can get it fully finished in short order. Regarding Pigeon Coop, pdfs are by far the better eco choice, and one I would normally do as well. I was especially intrigued, however, in seeing how he prepared and packaged his kits and wasn't disappointed when I ordered it. And yes, I may do my best to share the Sajou unboxing. I may even be tempted to use the UA-cam Shorts format, but that will take some figuring out. 🤣 Happy stitching!
First of all, congrats on the 2000 subscribers! I just found your channel and I found your voice so soothing, hope it doesn't sound too weird, that I had to subscribe and watch some more of your videos!!! Hope to see a new video soon!
It doesn't sound weird at all! Just a bit unusual for me since I've never been a fan of the sound of my voice. So I'm incredibly grateful. Thank you so much! I do hope to get another one in before the new year. And if all things are aligned, maybe even a stitch-with me. :)
Congratulations on the 2000 subscribers. And congratulations on the new sewing machine. I'm sure you will love it. Take classes on the machine from the shop that sold you the machine. They can be invaluable with their knowledge. I know that stitchers love Instagram, but I'm not a subscriber there!
Thanks so much, Kathy! Great suggestions about the classes. Unfortunately, the only national distributor where I bought my machine is about a 26-hour drive away. haha. I've already spent some time online, though, and the company has their own channel with tutorials. So I think I'll be okay.
Hi Ryan! That project bag is amazing! Yes please ….to the Sajou advent gifts recap. I really love your John Foster sampler…the dogs in front of the house….so sweet! I can’t wait to see your little mouse finish…I was eyeing that pattern as well, I love little projects. Have you seen OFE’s houseplants monthlies?
Awww shucks...thanks!!! There's so much to explore in the John Foster sampler. I think it'll make its way to the top of the "must stitch next" pile. And no, I haven't seen the houseplants monthlies. I'll definitely check them out. Thanks!
@@glennybarkedalot4572 don't you start with that too! Ellen is pushing me hard enough. haha. But I may start taking in alterations to help pay for the cost of that new beast. 😲
Another nice evening spent with you, Ryan, but next time bring dinner 😆 Congrats on reaching 2,000 subscribers; I have no doubt you'll get way farther than that in future. Your finish of Lady Man is gorgeous!! The fabric you choose is stunning, and you've finished it all so beautifully. All your stitching is lovely, with such attention to detail. Would you mind sharing the 3 Threadworx colours you chose for the pattern on the purple fabric? They're so pretty. I could see using them in a future pattern. I look forward to seeing your progress on the various samplers. It's very kind of you to make needle books for your viewers, and I would be honoured to be considered for one. And as to your mouse situation, there is a flosstube stitcher who goes by the name Tamara & Cross Stitch. She stitches a lot of Just Nan patterns and has done the mice and cubes. If you look through some of her videos, she explains how she's put them together, any issues with them, etc. She posts 2 versions of each video - one in English and one in another language. Take care, and happy stitching till we meet again 😀
I really appreciate your kind words. Thank you so much! And thanks for the tip about Tamara. I imagine it should be much like assembling a strawberry, but there's definitely some question marks around that tail. So I'll definitely check it out. And regarding the Threadworx, it's fascinating that you asked me...I originally bought them solely because I loved the colours and didn't have any project in mind. That's why I was so happy when I saw the Spiral design. From light to dark, the colours are 10571 (Creme de Menthe), 1057 (Montery Bay), and 1058 (Turqouise). Happy stitching to you, too!
@@RyRyMcGuy Thank you for the Threadworx numbers. I have 1 colour already and will add the others to my next stitchy order. I always seem drawn to the tropical colours, maybe because I should be on an island somewhere, sitting under a palm soaking up sun and scenery or scuba diving in the turquoise waters. And since I'm not there, tropical threads will have to do the trick. The colours all worked beautifully on the piece you're stitching. I've had a quick visit to the Spoonflower website. You're very evil indeed, Ryan ;) A person could get lost there for days, never to be seen again.
@@marleenoceanbreeze6510 I'm convinced I am drawn to the same colours for a similar reason. When I started building my stash of DMC, let's just say I started with all of the bold, stronger colours. Then when I'd want to stitch a reproduction sampler, I'd never have any of the called-for and became rather comical. And I've been lost on Spoonflower's site countless times! My one tip would be to wait for a sale. They are regularly having promotions, and every little bit helps. Additionally, take a look at their Fill-a-yard program. It lets you fill one yard of fabric with more than one print. I love it because it's more cost-effective than buying a smaller piece of one design, and I can make at least two project bags and a couple of notions pouches each in a different print. That makes it a real "win" for me. :)
@@RyRyMcGuy Thanks for the tips about the Spoonflower site. Right now I'm just browsing (how many of us have said that, and then we're deep in trouble lol). I was thinking perhaps of doing something with their wallpaper, maybe in a Chinoiserie print, but not ready just yet. My poor baby sewing machine is sadly neglected; I haven't used it for a few years Unlike your fancy new one, which I hope you have lots of fun exploring and sewing with, mine is a 1947 model so, given its age, it's entitled to nap now and again.
Honestly, oldies really are goodies. They don't make them like they used to, and unfortunately, I think that can be said about almost anything now. But yes, naps are good. :) And while my machine may be new, I don't think I'd call it fancy. It's 100% mechanical and doesn't even do a zig-zag stitch. It does have a few bells and whistles that my 30-year-old machine didn't have, but it's fairly basic and that's really all I need. :)
Thanks, Rachael. I still can't believe it. Really, I would have been surprised if I had 50 people. 😲 And that Lady Man FFO turned out well enough that this definitely won't be the last cross-stiched project bag.
Well done Ryan, 2000 subscribers is a nice start. I just saw Ellen's newest chart on Off the grid needlearts vlogmas - day 9. 'Ho Ho Ho Ho Sleighing Alive'. It has a disco ball!!! Further to our previous chat : Apparently 1 in 5 Aussies took part in some Halloween activity this year.
One in 5, eh? I think that's significantly fewer than Canadians, although please don't quote me on that. I imagine demographics play a huge part in that. And isn't the Sleighing Alive stitch awesome? I love it and look forward to seeing everyone else's progress. She just released another one, too! She's a machine. :)
Sheeny, huh?! Love it! And congratulations on 2000 subscribers!🎉. Does anyone ever told you you have a radio voice? You would be a great audiobook narrator! And I agree with you about Ellen‘s chart, it is drop dead gorgeous!
I generally have command of my vocabulary, but weird things happen when I'm in front of a camera. haha! And while I've been told I have a face for radio, I've actually never been comfortable listening to the sound of my voice. I still have that dis-ease hearing myself, but I'm grateful I finally smartened up enough to get over that issue because this Flosstube experience has been so satisfying, in huge part because of fellow stitchers like you. Thank you, Rose!
Congrats on your 2k sub milestone!! Love your videos, they're the highlight of my day since I have to wait until I get off work before I can watch. 🙂 The Spiral is beautiful!! The chart by Ellen Reid is amazing!! I checked out the page for it, and I love the colors as well as the overall design!! Your mitts are working up so lovely even with the thread doubled up! Kuddos to you! I love watching your videos, you inspire me to try new things! I made my first biscornu because of your videos - it was a mini. I've made three now. :-) Your little notions books are so cute! How long did it take you to make them?? I'm going to try making a scissors fob next. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos, I do enjoy watching them!
Thank you so much for watching, Kat! I appreciate your kind words so much, and I'm glad I can help close out your day on a high note. And huge congrats on the biscornu! Three already? That's fantastic. It's really quite magical how two squares sewn together can create such a unique and beautiful shape. Regarding the notions books, it's hard to say how long they take, mostly since I'm not working from a plan, a pattern, or instructions. I'll often see something that I like and know enough about sewing and construction to muddle through it. I thought of documenting and sharing it, but it's probably not worth the effort since there are so many awesome tutorials available already. Best of luck with the scissors fob!!!
Congratulations on the 2000 subscribers. That's awesome. Your finishing is just amazing. Like I posted on Instagram, you really should start a finishing business, because everything is beautiful, especially that like Lady Man bag.
Félicitations! love the diversity of your project choices and wish i was as productive and fast! I'm curious about your sewing machine and would love to know which one you purchased! Still using my mom's 55 years old Calanda machine but i sometimes dream of a newer one also :) Cheers!
Many thanks, Geneviève! Trust me when I say I'm neither fast nor productive. I think it was a while in between videos so it may seem like I did a lot. hehe. I purchased a Juki from their TL series. It's fully mechanical and only does straight stitching. No touchscreen displays or digital sensors or self threading, which is perfectly fine with me. And honestly, the old ones are built to last. My mother still uses her 55 years old Singer machine and it serves its purpose very well. :) Happy stitching!
My LNS, Black Cat Stitchery in Illinois, tries to always carry Gloriana silk. Enjoyed seeing what you're working on and love Ellen's new pattern.
Ah, I wonder if I can call them to place an order. Most colours that I need seem to be perpetually out of stock so it's great to know that LNS's are able to get them in. Thanks for watching, and happy stitching!
Love that friendship sampler. Enjoy watching your flosstube
Thank you! And it sure is a sweet sampler. Ellen has been releasing some really charming charts!
Congratulations on reaching 2000 subscribers..I ❤ Ellen’s pattern and as for your needle pouch ❤
Enjoy the new machine
Thanks for the 💖, Noreen! And I'm sure the machine won't disappoint. I hope. hehe
A big Congratulations on reaching 2k subscribers! Love Ellen's design and would be thrilled to receive the chart or a needlebook!
Thanks, Sharon! Much appreciated. 😊
Love your lady man project bag. Ellen's chart is awesome would love to stitch it. Congrats on your milestone.
Thanks so much, Cara!
Congratulations Ryan on your 2000 subscribers! Ellen’s chart is beautiful, I would love to stitch it.
Thank you so much, Susan! And yes, it's a lovely sampler.
I wood love one of ur needle books it's always better when someone makes one
That reminds me of a meal...it's always nicer when someone cooks a nice dinner for you. :)
Congratulations on your achievement 2000 subscribers. I always enjoy watching you!
Thank you so much, Liz! I'm happy you enjoy them. 😊
Congratulations on reaching 2000. Loved your projects.
Thank you so much Sherry! 🙏
Congratulations! Great update. That HATS sampler is 😍😍
Thanks! And yes, I think that HATS is going to be a new fave of mine, at the expense of all others. But it's been a smooth stitch so far, so we should be good. :)
I totally agree with you about holiday stitching. All that work I want to keep the pieces up all year. Love the ladyman finish.
@@RyRyMcGuy there’s room right now!!
I'm so flattered with your compliments. Thank you! And yes, that butterfly fabric was a real find!
Thank you so much, Julie, and happy holidays to you as well!
Congratulations Ryan reaching 2K subbies! I enjoyed watching your nice video, and all your awesome cross stitching! You have a nice calming voice to listen too! Cheers from Down Under!
Well hello, Aletta from Down Under, and thank you for the kind words! Happy stitching and see you next time!
Thanks so much for filming! Your calm voice and beautiful stitching is a relaxing joy with some tea in my Denby 💐
Awww thanks! You're too sweet. And yay for Denby! Good eye. 😉
Congratulation on reaching the 2K milestone. Very well deserved. I love seeing your projects. Your voice is very calming and enjoyable to listen to. Stay well. Best, K
Awwww thanks! Much appreciated. 😊
Yay! I love enabling other stitchers. And thanks so much for watching, Abi!
Loved the bag you made for Fancy Man., stunning! I can’t wait to get one of your needle books. Spoon flower is a wonderful site for fabrics!
Thanks, Deidre! Don't be surprised if you'll see other FO's made into bags, too. 😁
Congrats on 2000! Thanks for the lovely company while I stitch :)
My pleasure, and thanks! I'm always happy to provide some stitchy company. :)
A great "Lady Man" project bag. I think that is a great way to use our cross stitch work. You did a great job stitching the bag. It would be very sell-able.
Thanks for the compliment, Carol! I don't know if I'd have any buyers from the bags, though...I'd have to charge a fortune! 😂
@@RyRyMcGuy Exactly - after all that beautiful stitching it would be difficult to put a price on it 🪡❤
I enjoyed your show and tell today, Ryan. Thanks for sharing. I’m knitting a colorwork mitten while watching you today. 😊
Congratulations on growing your following! You are amazingly relaxing to watch. The Bob Ross of flosstube world
I'm overwhelmed by the comparison. Insanely flattering. Maybe I need to start exploring the world of ASMR. It's quite popular. 😊
Congratulations on 2000 subscribers! I really enjoy your videos. ❤
I truly appreciate that. Thank you so much!
Congratulations on the 2,000. 🧡❤️
Thanks, Betty! 😊
Enjoy your videos so much. I would love a chance at the needle book. I just realized that you could be the Bob Ross of Cross Stitch!!! Look forward to your upcoming vids.
Well, Kathy, I couldn't imagine higher praise than being compared to Bob Ross. That's very sweet. And I'm glad you're enjoying them!
Thank you, Joyce! I appreciate your kind comments. 😊
Hello from Tuscaloosa Alabama 💖🤗!! I love Ellen's chart! It would be a great stitch for the chilly days ahead.....
Hello, Tammy! Chilly days indeed. How cold can it get in Tuscaloosa?
Ryan I could listen to you all day. So calming and relaxing! Love your eclectic taste. Enjoy the holidays!
That's such a sweet thing to say. Thank you! And yes, my taste is definitely eclectic. I even surprise myself at some of my choices.
Congratulations on your big milestone! I l
Love watching progress on your projects. I love Ellen’s chart, especially the sentiment. Happy holidays
Thank you so much, Adina! Happy holidays to you, too, and happy stitching!
I love that lady man project bag. Such a great finish 😊
Thanks! It's such a great design and deserves a good home. 😊
Congratulations on 2000 subscribers! I love the way your project bag turned out. I need to make a few new bags (as my collection of WIPS grows) and some completed stitched pieces just might end up on them!
Oh yes, that's exactly the same reason I thought I ought to try making a project bag. Go for it! It's a win-win!
Always enjoy watching your videos. Your project bag you made is amazing! Congrats on 2,000 subscribers.
I'm so pleased you're enjoying them. I wish I had more time to make them more often because I enjoy it immensely. :)
Great video. Congratulations on 2000. Love seeing what you are up to. Thanks for sharing
Shucks, thanks Kay! Truly appreciated!
I enjoyed your video today, as I usually do when I catch them. I love seeing your finishes..that's something I am lax at doing..I'm inspired.
Thank you so much, Judy! And I think you're in the majority when it comes to those final finishes. We all just want to stich more!
Congratulations Ryan. Hello from Birmingham UK!
Thanks, Jacquie from Birmingham! Much appreciated.
I LOVE THE SHOW
I'm happy you enjoyed it, Helen!
Congratulations on 2000!
I enjoy listening to your perspective on things - have a good time stitching your new projects !
That's so kind. Thank you, and happy stitching to you, too!
I love your Lady Man finish! I’m not very good at participating in SALs, but I have been working on it all along and just finished it this month. I’ll show it in my next next Flosstube, hopefully sometime in the next couple of days.
Congrats on your finish! I look forward to seeing it soon. It's amazing to see the similarities and differences in everyone's work.
Enjoy spending time with you today, 💕💕
Thank you, Audrey! I'm glad you had a good time. 😊
This is my first time watching your flosstube and I’ve really enjoyed it
I'm so happy you enjoyed it, Diane! Thank you, and I hope it won't be as long a wait for my next one.
Always nice to catch one of your videos.
There is always room is beautiful.
Thanks, Jay! Much appreciated. And yes, it's a beautiful chart with a lovely sentiment. I'm happy to see it's doing so well.
Beautiful finishes. I always enjoy seeing what you stitching. I love Ellen new chart one day I will get the chart. I seen her video the day she released the chart. Happy stitching
Yes, that Ellen is one talented stitcher. I hope to have a chance to stitch on it soon. And I’m so glad you enjoy my little videos! :)
Congrats to your 2000 subscribers. You mentioned your new sewing machine but you didn't mention the brand.
Thanks, Stacey! And it's a Juki. I'll be sure to talk about it on my next flosstube. :)
@@RyRyMcGuy that would be great. I would love to upgrade my old machine and the juki was one I've been looking at.
Congrats on the milestone, and thanks for all the updates!
My pleasure, Shelly! Thanks heaps for watching!
My first time watching you. I love the lady man tote you made.
Thanks so much, Debbie! It's my new favourite.
Congratulations on 2000! 🥳 Love all your projects!
Thanks, Megan! I'm glad you enjoyed them. 😁
@@RyRyMcGuy Hopefully I will meet you in person at Week 1 of Stitch North. Merry Christmas!!!
@@jodydavie923 oh for sure! I'm looking forward to meeting new people and reconnecting with those who were there this past year. It was such a great time and I know the next one promises to be even better!
Congratulations on 2k subs, you deserve it. I really enjoy watching you videos 😁😁😁❤️❤️❤️
Aww thanks, Jen! That means a lot to me. 😊
Just finished knitting my first set of fingerless gloves using self striping yarn myself !
Congrats!!! May I ask what pattern you used? I'm always looking for new designs.
@@RyRyMcGuy I used a pattern from yarnspirations called Patons fingerless knit gloves.
@@robinfierce5462 Thank you! I'll have to check it out.
Congratulations on 2000 subscribers!
Thanks, Kathy! 🙏🏻
That Spiral pattern is beautiful. I have stitched for 40 years and still cannot get a perfect tension when stitching in hand.
Thank you! I needed to hear that, I think. It's not the end of the world and our stitches are awesome. :)
So excited for Ellen's chart release success. My LNS is working with me to create a SAL in the new year. I haven't been able to purchase a copy of the design yet, but aft 🔥er Christmas...my first ever sampler!
Oh that's wonderful regarding the SAL!!! Wishing you the best of luck, and I shall keep my eyes open for it.
Congratulatiuns on 2000 subscribers! And congratulations on the new sewing machine! What did you get?
Thanks, and thanks!!! I got one of Juki's TL series. It's only a straight stitcher but I have confidence it will do the trick. :)
@@RyRyMcGuy Fantastic !! thanks so much ! I've sent you an email
Yay number 11!!!!!!
Congratulations on 2k!!
Awww shucks. Thanks! Now that I'm off the hook now for another eight weeks (hehe), I can spend some time catching up with yours!
Congrats on 2K!! What sewing machine did you get?
Thanks! And I got a machine from the Juki TL series. Don't be surprised if it makes an appearance. :)
how fun! So glad to have found you!
Welcome aboard! I'm glad you found me.
P.S. I am secretly hoping that the new sewing machine is your first step into starting a cross stitch smalls finishing business.
Congratulations on 2,000 subscribers! That's a huge accomplishment. Loved seeing all of your stitching and the FFO on Lady Man was superb!
Thanks, Rachael. I still can't believe it. Really, I would have been surprised if I had 50 people. 😲 And that Lady Man FFO turned out well enough that this definitely won't be the last cross-stiched project bag.
Ryan, Congratulations on 2000. Lucky us. More videos for us. Your finishing is awesome.
Huge thanks, Joanne! I love making them and would like to do more. It's nice to know people enjoy them.
The Spiral is beautiful!!
Thank you! Like I might have mentioned before, I'll be giving more thought to that finishing business to help pay for that new sewing machine. hehe
:) Happy stitching!
thank you so much 👍🏻 I totally agree, the old ones are built to last, just like vacuum cleaners 😁
Have a great day and happy holidays!!!
