This was the best interview, personally! He was very transparent allowing me to recognize I relate to him in MANY ways. This one just hit diff. Very motivational to say the least
Symone you are such a natural journalist, you do a wonderful job with interviewing guests and providing value. Wishing you and the guests continued success!
Just watched this interview for the 3rd time. Currently a sys ad for DOD with a clearance. Working to make that transition to overseas. I appreciate all the gems he dropped.
I feel robbed even more listening to their conversation. I worked in the UK for General Dynamics Information Technology. I never got bonuses. There was no opportunity to cross trained. My base pay was $70K and with COLA and housing, I made $136K on W-2. I'm back in the United States. I feel like i wasted 13 months of my life. I'm prior military, so I had a clearance. I have CompTIA A+ and Sec+. Do I need to go back to school?!
Different contracts pay differently of course. Places like the UK, Germany, etc. usually have lower overall pay because you still get a good quality of life there. To maximize your income when out of the country I'd suggest a war zone or a more specialized area that demands higher pay. Most of the people I worked alongside didn't have a degree.
Hello, I've been watching all your videos. And love the information. Thank you. However, I've been thinking about buying your course. But I am wanting to go the cyber security route. I heard you mention in the video that to get a gov tech job with your first being cybersecurity is hard. What should I be going for then? I'm confused.
Hey Symone, do you know if its possible to live outside the US in A Govtech remote position? If I’m still using a US bank account & have an american address? I would like to live and work from SA.
@@Cartiih You train yourself up and get the skills that job is looking for, you apply for the job and show your skills in the interview to show your value. If they think you have enough value or just like your personality and think you can handle it then they'll hire you and start the paperwork for your clearance. If you pass the background check amongst other things, you'll get the clearance.

Is it just getting the security+ and the helpdesk experience that's needed to open the doors to working overseas?
Just got my Sec+ certification today. Any recommendations on what to do next when apply for jobs?
Curate your resume to the role you're trying to get, show how previous/current duties tie into what you're looking to do.

Will overseas jobs pay for your spouse to come as well?
Naw, I can't do Afghanistan and Kuwait lol
Maybe Japan or something 😂😂
What is vic's LinkedIn?
Sounds great I have kids though 😢
Is it a risk, like life or death going overseas?
Only if you're in a war zone. The increased pay is called hazard pay due to the location you're in.
@@baeegifThank you for your response. The hype of govtech does not talk about the serious risks of working overseas.
I have my security + looking for clearance I want to go overseas please assist.
