  • Wire wrapped loops are a staple of jewelry making. In this video I show how to make a neat wire wrapped loop & also one way to conserve wire while making messy wire wrapped loops.

    Yay!!! An instructional video with explicit directions, and, best of all, a close up view of what you’re doing. I feel confident now to try this.

    Omg you just saved my butt with a bad purchase of some fine gauge wire. Lol. And these wraps look amazing. Literally my first ever wire wrap too.

    I've just started making jewelry and your videos are absolutely the best in explaining the how-to's. Thank you so much. I just made loops and earring on flat pins. I need lots of practice to get them as neat as your. But wow. Thanks.

    Thanks Sandy. When you wrap both sides, is it suggested to have the loops going the same way or perpendicular to each other? I hope that makes sense. If you’re making a wire wrapped chain, does it matter what way the loops go?

    • @SandyHuntress
      @SandyHuntress  5 років тому +3

      That's a great question, Jane. It really depends on what you are doing with the link. When making beaded chain I do try to have the loops on each link face in the same direction, just to give the piece a more consistent feel. It's a small detail, but I think it adds to the finished look.
      Sometimes you might have to have the loops at 90° from each other in order for a pendant or charm to hang properly.

    Thank you so much,you explained it very well.
    Do you mind if I ask what brand of tools do you buy?

    • @SandyHuntress
      @SandyHuntress  5 років тому +2

      I don't buy super expensive tools. Maybe someday I'll get fancier pliers, but so far I've been happy with the Beadsmith brand and similar from the craft store.

    Do you find that loops made from 26 gauge wire are kind of flimsy & easily bendable, even if they are secure & don't open?

    • @SandyHuntress
      @SandyHuntress  3 роки тому

      That's a great question, Diana! If you make the loops too large, then, yes, they would be bendy. But if you're using that small a gauge, chances are you are also making tiny loops, which seem to hold their shape just fine. :-)
      Hope this helps!

    thanks for this one i have the hardest time with this, it never seems to come out right. Never straight or the wire does not wrap tighter close together. Especially if I dont use a pin but just wire, it's a bit hard for me estimating how much wire I will need.

    It’s really hard to see exactly what any of these people are doing on these videos. The pliers are turned sideways, I cannot see exactly what ANY of them are doing… Oh well.
